Sameera, Congratulations on your good check up! It's exciting to find out the gender and I am glad you got one boy at least because boys are a lot of fun. I used to pull my stomach muscles lot when I stand up all the sudden etc... It seems like I got it more often than when I was pregnant with singleton. It's another twin thing. I just made sure I move slowly when getting up.

Sarahalf, I did have rapid and irregular heartbeat occasionally and it worried me. My heart was working so hard growing my babies, so I understood it as it's a sign to take it easy. It happend more when I am sitting down and my stomach pushed against the upper rib cage. My heart probably irritated by that perhaps. Good luck on your high resolution ultrasound. Keep your positive thoughts!

Dakota, congratulations and welcome! I was also taking Citranatal, but mine was with DHA and extra Iron. In the blood test, it showed that my iron level was low so I was taking that plus extra iron supplement. Good thing we don't have to take two tablets because as others said, they are huge!

Kimberley, looking forward to meeting you. I think we can find time on Sunday. We are off to Wendell for lunch and then we have a family dinner but in between, we can meet definitely. I will PM you my cell phone number. Thanks for making time for us. Thanks for the offer re BOB. Our van will be ove stuffed with all the gears three children needs (plus we had to buy the cargo box for this trip!), so I don't think we have any room for extra stroller! I'd love one though. Thanks for asking. Good luck with the party on Sat. You are a brave woman!

Woodcliff, no problems at all! THat's what we are hear for as well as for my own needs! I think you are guessing it right. Having extra help around does put off building confidence to care for the children. That's what happened to me. When my Mom left and then my DH went back to work, I was TERRIFIED. I thought for sure I am going to have a nervous breakdown. However, that did not happen. We figured out a nice routine fairly quickly, and it's been not difficult. So, if your babysitter think does not work out, you can definitely do it! Sounds like your babies are good sleepers, so that's even a plus. I do totally understand your fear because that was me three months ago. But I think you have nothing to worry about.

Kim, how are you doing?

Oh, boy I am up for a mega packing job now. I've been putting it off. Two portable cribs, 2 bouncies, a bath tub, three strollers, bedding items... the list goes on. The babies are just hanging in the living room complaining, but good.

Anyway, must go now.

Take care everyone!
Wish they have a spell check on this site.

Hi ladies!
I have a couple questions for you twin mommies...
I am 11 weeks on Friday and the ms is getting really old. I have only thrown up once, though I think if I would let myself it could be a daily occurrence. Did you really get to a point around 12 weeks when it was just gone? Please say yes!
Also, because of this I have only gained about 4 pounds though they seem to fluctuate. Because I have twins a am getting a little bit worried about weight gain. I was also just reading how good early weight gain is with multiples. How much did you gals gain?

Thanks so much for your time!!

Rublee: Sorry about the ms. I was one of the lucky ones who never got it. I just had a headache every day. As for the weight gain, I am 28 weeks today and have only gained 16 pounds. I did not gain a lot of weight in the beginning and now that they are getting bigger is when I am just starting to gain. I think it also depends on your body size...if you are skinny you need to gain more...overweight a little less but still some gain. I am a little overweight and they still told me I would gain about 35 pounds which I still have a long way to go for that...so I am not sure. The doctors told me that as long as the babies are gaining weight and are on target then everything is fine because there was a spout about 4 weeks ago I was not gaining at all...

Hi Ladies -

I am new to your thread, I have been reading it everyday though and thought its time to introduce myself. I am part of the Feb mom's to be right now and that group of gals is the best, I guess I will be going back and forthe with them and you.

I have a question for all of you that have had your little ones already. Did you have a vaginal birth or c-section?? The ob I met with yesterday said she will only do c-sections for multi births. But I feel that I want to try a vaginal if its a health situation. So I was wondering what was your expereiences and how did it all work out.

I cant wait to hear from you. You all sound so wonderful and like a great group to be a part of.

Hi girls....

I've only been away for a few days, but I feel I've missed a bunch!

Kholtan--how's your brother? I hope he recovers soon. Sweet Annelise....a nurse in the making? It's funny how kids and dogs sense things---my 96 year old grandpa just passed away last week. Before he died, I took the kids (who see him quite often) and our dog (strange--I know--but my grandpa LOVED him) to see him...the kids and the dog were so gentle with him. It was sweet. On a happier note, We did just get back from boating at the lake for the past few days...my kids are getting MUCH MUCH better with the lifejackets and they LOVE swimming in their little rafts! I found some great ones at Target that have little canopies. I'll check your blog after I post!

Genessa--Congrats and welcome! I did have a c-section because my son was breech. My OB was willing to go vaginally until my son turned. I know many women with twins who delivered vaginally. However, it really depends on a lot of things. I know my OB is usually very conservative with first time moms who are pg with twins. He said if I'd delivered vaginally before (and knew I could do it w/o probs), he'd be more inclined. But since Braeden was breech and I was a newbie, it was a c/s for me.

Rubylee--I never actually got sick, but I was nauseus until about 16 weeks. I hope it ends soon for you! I had no probs with weight gain (cause eating stopped my nausea, go figure!)....but I'm sure you will be fine. Some girls just don't gain much. Consider it a blessing!

Tolbee--have a fun trip! I am super jealous that you get to meet Kimberly! I want to come too! I have a BabyTrend jogger...I like it, but I wish it had a swiveling front wheel. I hear the newer ones do. The jogger is very sturdy--I jog with it almost daily, and it has no problem with nearly 50 pounds of baby in it!

Woodcliff--I agree with Tolbee...you will find that you WILL work out a system when you are by yourself. I really don't need help. I actually found that mobile babies were a bit easier to take care of. I know that sounds weird...but as they get older, they get easier to feed, they can play more, etc. I don't think you could possible need a girl for 20 hours a week....unless she wants to clean your house!

DAkota--WElcome and congrats!

Sara--good luck at your u/s tomorrow. Keep us posted!

Gotta run...I have LOTS to catch up on.

Hey Everyone! A quick not before my weekend becomes super crazy!

Kim~ Are bare bottoms the cutest thing ever???? Annelise has been a sweetheart with my brother for sure. She just has the softest heart. No one can cry around her or she needs to cuddle. My brother is one the mend but unfortunately he is going to lose everything because of this. His house, his business. . .it's all gone. He just got too comfy during the free ride times and now that the economy has turned he's not prepared to take a small butt beating and therefor he will suffer the sad result. It'll be at least 3-6 months before he can take care of himself and by then everything will be gone. It will be the best for him but it won't be easy. We're all prepared to suport him in any way we can bu financially. hope it goes better than I think! :?
My Great-Grandma died last year at 101 and I am so sad the babies neer met her. You are so blesed that your grandpa knew the twins. . . and your dog! :) Life is a fleeting moment gone too soon, that's for sure. I still get weepy when I think of the only picture we could of had and don't. I'm sorry for your loss. Hugs x's 100!!

Genessa~ Congrats on Twins and welcome! I was planning on having a 100% natural birth but baby A ended up being breech and so a c-section it was. I really wanted a 100% natural birth but I knew it was slim chances. I was prepared for anything and sinfully happy at what I got int he end. Two helathy babies and no complications! We are so happy to have you here and we love, love, love, new mommies!

Rubylee~ Welcome and congrats! What a gear thrill to have you with us! I never did have m/s but I gained 28 lbs.total. Not a lot I know but it was all bbay. I ate 3500 calories a day and my body gave it all to the babies. I worried a lot about weight,in fact it was the only real worry I had, but everything turned out just fine. Keep us posted and I hope you are well. Hugs!

Kimi~ Sunday is great! We are bunjee jumping in the morning with our houst guest but will be free later. I know! It's so much fun! We are heading out in the morning and the jump is 180 feet so it's a big one over the Snake River. My oldre brother use to own a bunjee company so we have done it many times but not for years.
Sunday night is great for me and I am so excited for it!!!!!! Seriously, this is the highlight of my summer! You just feel like a sister to me and I dont' even have sisters!!!! Should we fly Kim out???? :D

WC~ Here is my quick advice~ Sounds like your nanny needs you and not the other way around. She seems to be pressing you for something you don't need when you are really able to do it on your own now. Good help will come along again if things go wrond and until you try it alone you will never know. What are your thoughts?

Better run! The houseguests arrive mid day tomorrow and I am NOT ready yet for sure!
Nighty night!

I dunno how you girls do it - managing twins and all the stress and dealing with house stuff!!

you guys are super moms :)

I am so uncomfortable at nights now :( I cannot sleep well - my babies are always moving constantly and IF i lay on right side I feel like my side is going numb so I keep switching sides.

I even use that pregnancy pillow it helps but not anymore - I feel huge and now getting frustrated because I cannot fit into anything.. currently i'm only 4 months pregnant - bah i dunno what i am gonna do when i am in my 6 months or 9 months!!

not to mention these round lig and Braxton Hicks ugh..

Do you guys have any advise on getting good sleep??

Hope you ladies are doing well :)

Sameera~ Sorry to hear your sleep has gone to the dogs! I can remember being a little restless at night and using LOTS of pillows. Also, if you try you left side it's better for circulation. I don't know if it's more mental or what but I would have a cup of herbal tea before bed and I always read before I fall asleep and I think it helps. Good luck!

Off to start getting my house ready. Yeah, I waited until now to even start. Thankfully they have been here before and are super easy guests. It's the party on Saturday that may get me more worried as I think about it! YIKES! Better go!

Have a great weekend mommies!

KHOltan--Yes yes!!! Fly me out!!!! I wanna come! Oh, I'm super jealous that you girls get to meet.

Ok, I officially vote Kholtan as the wildest twin mommy ever! She races jet skiis and bungee jumps--all while breast feeding!   You go girl!

Sameera--sorry to hear about the sleep...I didn't sleep much at all at the end. Hopefully your round ligament pains will go away soon, so that might help you sleep too. It's amazing all the changes your body goes through....just consider the sleep deprivation as training. seriously. I hope it gets better for ya!

Thanks for all the advice girls. I don't feel as panicked about the weight gain now and the last 2 days have been a little bit better for the ms. I have been forcing myself to eat more and I think that is helping.

Kholtan - You are an inspiration. You really enjoy life! I have a lot of ties to Idaho. My family all lives in Coeur D'Alene (though I grew up in Missoula) and my FIL had a house in McCall. I love it there. So beautiful. Someday I am going to get out of LA and back into the Northwest.

Sameera - Sorry about your sleep. I am having problems already myself. Between the 5 trips to the bathroom and getting comfy it is almost impossible. I got one of those body pillows and it has helped a little. Maybe give that a try? I kind of hug onto it and then put it in between my knees. I am thinking of getting another to go on the other side, though not sure there will be any room left for DH  . You were having some ms (I remember from cycling with you), how is it now for you?

my ms is gone baby gone..so glad though I was tired of it. Now i got no sleep issues and body aches/pains because of feeling and getting HUGE!!

How are you doing? I'm so happy for you and your dh :)

Half of the ppl we cycled with I have no clue where they went it would have been great to keep in touch still.

Thank you, as ever ladies, for your great advice...

Kimberly, you hit it on the head...and I do feel pressured...she's really good, but very manipulative...and not free when I need her on weekends...I may bite the bullet and just tell her...she's pressuring me again today, telling me she'll choose her school schedule based on my needs...ha. you should see when the classes are offered, not when I would need someone!

Tolbee..yes, this has slowed me down.
Today I take my babies to my husband's office (1.5 hours away, driving alone ... yippee!)...and then we're taking them to a concert where my friend conducts...he's 'introducing' the twins to a crowd of 6,000 people...at intermission...OH MY GOD. I need to feed my sun before the intermission...it'll be NUTS if he cries...they'll just stick him in the orchestra..

LOVE TO ALL
I need to read personals...so behind.

Hi Ladies,
I've been on your site a couple times. My girls arrived June 13th. They are now a month old. I feed them with bottles of my expressed milk b/c we had latching problems and formula at night. They eat about every 3 hours with our last feed of the night at midnight and then they sleep anywhere till 3-5am. My question is: During the day I wake them if its been 3 hrs since the last feed b/c that is what I was advised to do usually they are stirring if I have to wake them. What I was wondering is should I let them sleep until they wake or continue to wake them? Also if I continue to wake them how long should I do this for? When will they start taking more time between feedings?
Thanks for your help,
Kimberli

Hi Kimberli!

Congrats on your girls...can you show pics? We LOVE new babies here! Your girls b-day is the day before my kiddos...

I remember going through the SAME thing last year. Our ped. was ADAMANT about feeding them every 3 hours. What do your girls weigh now? I think once they got to 8 or 10 pounds, our doc relaxed a little, but by that time, my kiddos were waking up every 3 hours no matter what.

I do remember the doc saying that because they were a few weeks early, they couldn't necessarily "regulate" themselves and wake on their own when hungry. That's probably the case with your girls, and they will grow out of it soon enough--that's what mine did. So, until then, I had to wake them every 3 hours to feed. I hated it. It seemed so backwards--contrary to the "never wake a sleeping baby" creed. But, my kiddos did grow well and developed a sleep, wake, eat rythmn because of it.

So, to make a long story shorter....I did wake them to feed. But I didn't have to forever. It worked itself out.

Good luck!
Kim
