U/S fetal measurements

Post by Dakota »

When you had your weekly or semi-weekly scans was there a variation is the size? Meaning one week was on track, but the next week a few days behind...as so forth?

Also, have you compared your u/s pics by week, have you payed attention to the sacs? If I look at the sac at week 6 compared to week 7, week 7's sac is smaller, but the baby is measureing good (well, 2 days behind). Have any of you had this?

One more question, for those who have twins did they change it up? One week one was on track then the next week vice versa?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but thanks for the reply.

Twins

We have had a difference in growth over a span of two weeks. Well, about 2 weeks ago one baby weighed 13oz the other was 1lb 30z and the next week they were 1lb 3oz and 1lb 4oz.

As far as the sacs go, I think that it may be the way that the sonographer magnifies the ultrasound. It may look different from time to time or seem off. My gynecologist said that it is always some human error. It also depends on the angle that the sonographer is capturing the images...that is what the gynecologist said.

I think the measurements are based on averages for that time window...so I don't think its a big deal is you are off by a couple days. Every time I went in the baby measured ahead 3-4 days, so I don't think it matters as long as its not a huge discrepancy of weeks or anything.
