Small ovaries

Post by jrar847 »

I was born without a uterus A condition called mullerian angenesis. My husband's cousin wanted to be our surrogant. So went began to see an RE. When I first saw the RE she draw a lot of blood from all of us. The RE did a sonogram everytime we visited the office. The RE had to prepare my surrogant's uterus and prepare my ovaries to ovulate. So after about a month of she gave both of us our first shot of Lupron. Than two weeks later we got more Lupron. Than two after the RE began us on Follistim, aspirin, prenatals and something else. My first sonogram the RE said I was still suppressed from the Lupron. Three days later my next sonogram I was to gasy for the RE to see anything. Yesterday the RE found no respones to all the drugs. She told me this happens. I want to know if the RE over suppressed me. I want to know why she wants to put me on estrogen for a couple of months instead if giving me CCCT test to see if there's something wrong with my ovaries. I've spent the night crying and my RE isn't availible till tomorrow. Is there anyone who has any info or advice?

Sorry I didn't see this post sooner... I'm sorry you were having a rough night and the RE wasn't available to answer your questions. But hang in there. A few more months of testing will be worth it if this all works, right!!! I'll be thinking of you. Keep us posted on your treatment.

Gosh this is an amazing and wild roller coaster ride.

I don't have any advice, but can relate to your emotions. My husband has been amazed - as have I - at how devestated I was by recent bad news - and I'm ready to try anything and ask anyone for a different suggestion of what to do next........

I'm with you - hang in there and hopefully you'll get some better answers soon.

Sorry you got a BFN... but I noticed you are the same age as my two sis-in-laws who also went thru fertility treatments. Don't lose hope, ok? One had to do egg retrieval twice and now she has healthy triplets! Did I read on another thread that you may even have some frozen beauties still left? Hang in there, let your body recoop from this cycle, and try again. Eventually I know we will all be blessed with children.
I, myself, have done 6mths Clomid + IUI, and 2 cycles GonalF with Ovidrel + IUI. Our insurance requires one more round of GonalF before we can move onto IVF. But I'm taking a mental health break this summer and really enjoying myself. Plenty of girls nights out & not worrying about shots, bloodwork, ultrasound, etc. I'll be rejuvenated to start again in the Fall.
Man, this rollercoaster takes a toll on yourself and your marriage. But it will all be worth it, won't it? :)

Update

So my RE believes it is that she over suppressed me. I'm on estrogen for the next ten days. I hope this is the problem. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

WOW. I feel for you as far as the all the treatment is concerned. It does take a toll on everything. My husband has been more than I ever dreamed of. Very supportive and positive. So has my surrogant. She very positive, and tells me stress isn't going to help.

other encouragement?

Post by MommaKK »

Thanks not hopeless yet....
I appreciate the encouragment.

No frosties - since we only got one good embryo out of cycle one, the clinic is encouraging us to go straight to egg donor.

Not sure if we should go right at it again - let my body recoup - or go the donor route...

I too know we will all be blessed with children. I'm going to start the adoption route as well - keeping all doors open but could use some knowledgeable encouragement.

Please let me knowif your iss in laws are available for advice.

thanks - great to have love and support.

What does your doc say about trying IVF again? how soon?

Like I said, the sis-in-law was in her 40's & did ER twice. She was quite brave and put 5 embies back each time. She felt that since she had, had 3 miscarriages prior to starting treatment she wanted to give her body a kickstart and put as many back as possible. The 2nd time they did ET, two embies implanted and one became an identical twin. So she ended up with triplets.

Personally, if you can afford it, I say go for IVF one more time! On the other hand, I'm happy to hear you're considering adoption too. I know some people aren't up for that, however my dh and I are, we just haven't taken the plunge. We send away for tons of information but want to give IVF a chance as well.

Hang in there. Def let your body re-coop, but see what the doctor says about another round.
