I'm glad everyone is doing well and feeling alright since we all are getting pretty close to ER!!!

Babyloves, congrats on the 4 fertilizing! I bet the quality is wonderful and you will have great eggs to choose from. When will they transfer? Day 3 or 5? Will you put 1 or 2 back in?

Venus: Good luck on your ER this weekend. That is great that you get to have the weekend to relax without work stressors in the way!

DCDiva: That's great that you really like your doctor and nurses. It is one thing less to stress over. My MD, Dr Chang was on the cover of Washingtonian a few years ago. So, it is a great reference to find good docs. I'm confident that your 7 eggs will turn out to be of great quality and easily fertilize!

Jharris: That is a fabulous # of follies! and, you have a really good E2 as well. Is your lining thickening up well?? When do they expect you to trigger?

Anj: Welcome!!!!! I am so sorry that the clinic was not more prepared! That is so frustruating. I hope that they get their act together and pay better attention to you!! Don't hesitate in speaking up as you are giving them a lot of money and deserve the best of care!

Kim: How are things going with you? Any follie update for us?

Well, I go in tomorrow for more b/w, u/s. Yesterday they saw 9 follies on each ovary that were maturing. They range in size from 10-14, so I imagine that I will be stimming through the weekend with a possible ER on Tuesday or Wednesday?? I'm happy to report that my lining is thickening and was 9 yesterday. But, my E2 still seems a bit low for all of those eggs as it was only 429. Who knows, though. I have started to feel really tired lately. I think it is because my ovaries are getting filled with so many follicles.

Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend besides ER??

Just a quick note from my appt today...My E2 only went to 1039 from 956 yesterday, so they are upping my Gonal-f dose from 412.5 to 525 tonight. Then I go back in tomorrow for BW/US again tomorrow. I had the same problem last cycle, and upping the meds did the trick. So I'm sure my E2 should go on up tomorrow. I was a little down when I got my message, but I am feeling better. I know this is going to work. OK, so now I have to go and cook dinner. I will check in with you all a little later! Thinking of you all!!

Hey ladies - Sounds like lots of happy follies growing. I can feel mine growing! I should have a better date for er after tommorow - looks like wed or thurs. I seem to be a slow but steady stimmer. Am a bit concerned about this strep pneumonia that i picked up a few weeks ago. Finished all my meds (levequin - horrible stuff)on tues and went to the regular doctor today for another culture. She said with the strong stuff i was on that she cant imagine it didnt work but that my throat and ears were a mess so maybe its a virus. Guess ill know on tues but my worst fear is that it will be the penicillan resistant kind like 2 weeks ago and i will have to take something again thats unsafe for pregnancy. DH and doc told me not to freak out till next week but its hard. I wonder if they could freeze my eggs if necessary? Then i could take meds after er. And do tranfer at some other point. Of course they would probably make me pay for 2 ivf cycles! Well off to buy batman tickets

Hi gals,
I had a good appointment today - My lining was at 11; I had about 11 or so follies that were above 10 - one 17, one 16 and the others between 14 and 10, plus a bunch of small ones they don't measure. I missed my nurse's call, so I don't know what my E2 was, but I'm guessing it jumped a bunch because they told me not to take my morning meds Sunday before my US and BW that morning. So - it sounds like I'll trigger Sunday or Monday and ER will be Tues or Wed!

JHarris: I be upping the meds will be just what you need for the finals days of stims. Good luck! Are you feeling a lot of pressure with all those follies?

Elisabeth: Sound like everything is progressing well. Don't worry about that E2 - I bet it jumps a lot at your next appointment. It seems to really go up once the follies get above a certain size.

Kim: Try not to worry too much about the virus. Hopefully it's your run-of the mill bug and you'll have no problem finishing your cycle. Chances are that's just what it is, but I know it's hard not to worry about every possible thing going wrong. I was convinced I had appendecitis last weekend b/c I got sick and had cramps on my right side - I was so scared b/c that would be cancelling my cycle. I worried for nothing though.

Babyloves: Any news on when ET will be?

Hi Kim, I had my egg retrieval today and I too am 34 years old (blocked right tube). This is my first time doing IVF so this whole experience is alot. Can you shed some light on what the next step is. Does the transfer hurt? My belly is very tender and i wonder how long this will last?

Good luck to you on your up and coming retrieval, Would love to hear about your experience. I joined this forum to talk to people who can relate to what i am feeling.

Hi One Sweet Angel - Welcome - Youve dont the hard part! - how are your eggs growing? How many did you have. ET is a piece of cake - takes like 2 min and i didnt feel it. I was quite bloated after my er but it was my hormone level. I was sore from the procedure for only 2 days but my stomach was upset from the hormones for like 2 weeks. Drink gatorage or g2! I also Used pepto. The progesterone shots are a bit unpleasant but bearable. Keep up the update on those eggs and if you do a 3 day or 5 day transfer! Good luck!

Can I join in? Im new here. Had my first ICSI last year but turned out to be blighted ovum. Now starting a fresh cycle and had start injecting puregon on 17th. If everything goes well, I may retrieve the egg on 26 or 28.

I am also going for ET around then and also doing accupuncture so will be thinking of you. This i my first IVF and I have 15 follicles (is this average)?

Well we got a call today that did not bear good news! None of our eggs fertilized because they were not mature enough. My E2 levels were high and my follicles were measuring 21, even 22 mm's. The doc said I am one of those rare cases were they have to allow me to go an extra day so my eggs can fully mature.
We had a total of 32 follicles, but 12 eggs were retrieved. I was kinda worried that less than half of the follicles contained an egg.

Right now I am pretty bummed and sore! Have you ever heard of this before? Do you know how long we would have to wait if we wanted to do another cycle?

Hi everyone...we are getting so close, aren't we? Onsweetangel...I am so sorry about the news. This is my first time with IVF so I don't have any answers for you, but I am sure some of the other ladies do. Hang in there and take it one day at a time. I know that is easier said than done...

I just got the call from my nurse after my second us and bw. I now have 20 follies (they found 25 3 days ago) and everything sounded like it was good. She ended the call with "the dr wants you to come back tomorrow and she wants to see you." hmmm....Have any of you been seen 2 days in a row for us and bw?? I am wondering why she wants to see me since this whole time I have mainly been dealing with the nurses and techs? (perhaps that is the exact reason why?!) For some reason I am scared that I will be getting bad news of some sort. No changes were done to my meds...anyone have suggestions??? Hope you are all having a great weekend.

one sweet angel - I am so sorry to hear that news. IVF is REALLY tough emotionally and physically. Now that they know how your body responds, you will have a better chance next time. Everything went perfect with my last cycle and i got a bfn. Hang in there and know that you have a great chance of getting a bfp within 3 cycles. Treat you and your dh to something special before your next cycle. I had a bfn in april/may and they had us take june off except for birth control so it may be a few months before you can try again. Take the time to enjoy not being on meds and regroup I am glad we took a break. We actually went on vacation and i started accupuncture. Now i am sick this cycle which is a whole other issue but hey in there

rn - dont stress 0 it means you are getting closer thats all! i was there this am and will go in sun and maybe even mon for bw/us

Bummer a few months to start another cycle. Your right this whole IVF is so much emotionally. But I guess I will have to stay positive and hope for the best next time.

RN - before my retrieval i went to the doctor everyday for the last 5 days for bw/us. The closer to your trigger shot you get the more daily visits to the doc there is. Stay positive. It's a good thing to go daily because that means they are monitoring your very close so that all goes well.

Hi guys,
Just a quick update...i had ET on friday! 2 embies - 7 cell grade 1 which are good. We'll hope for the best...i'm kinda laying low and ordering DH around , I asked them for pics and then cried when the embies were actually being put in. We had 2 left, but they may not make it to day 5 to freeze, but we'll see.
onesweetangel: i'm sorry about your cycle...there's so many points in this IVF process where we worry, and then things go either very wrong or very right..i've been watching these posts for a while and IVF really does seem to work for some people just like us...hopefully we all get our chance!
Seems we'll get a lot of ER's this week...keep us posted! Good luck and lots of baby dust.
