What is the wait time to start another cycle.

Hello guys,
We got bad news today. Out of our 32 follies, we got 12 eggs and none of them fertilized. Doc said my E2 and follicle sizes all were good and they were baffled that none of my eggs were matured after the retrieval. Mature eggs do not fertilize. Has this ever happened to anyone?

I'm pretty bummed.

This is our first attempt at IVF. Does anyone know how long we have to wait if we want to attempt another cycle?

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear that you didn't have any eggs that fertilised. How long were you on stims for?
I wanted to let you know that I did back to back IVF cycles, so once I got AF after a negative result, I started stims again right away. Apparently most docs like to leave at least one full cycle between tries, but there is no real reason to, apart from letting your ovaries rest. On the second try, we got a BFP so please stay positive and don't give up.

Thanks Jude, your response was reassuring. It's good to know that we can start another cycle right away. I was on the stims for 11 days.

Congratulations on your BFP! I'm new to all this, so what is the next step for you.

I also had zero fert rate but it was because of male factor issues. My clinic makes us wait one month between cycles as they have found better sucess rates doing this. On my fourth cycle I took a few months of to give my body a break.

Thanks sweetangel on the congrats. Our next step is waiting and keeping fingers crossed and trying not to go crazy until the ultrasound - we have it on the 30th July.

So - from what you posted, I think you said that none of your eggs were mature? So, they did not try to fertilize them at all then I presume. Or am I getting that wrong?

I hope that you are able to get some answers as to why, and get some help with this.

I'm sorry about none of the eggs being fertilized too.. I hope this next cycle your doc will change some things around to give you a better chance at success !

My 1st IVF was a chemical preg... but I started right away after my period and on fri I got my BFP! so as long as you're feeling up to it, and your doc says that you're good to go I don't think there's any reason to wait. I know after my 1st cycle I was so anxious to start again asap.
