I forgot...HopefullIL- Your Progesterone changes everyday, so there is going to be some flucuations. Anything over 10 is good. See below...

Guideline to Progesterone levels during pregnancy:
• 1-28 ng/ml Mid Luteal Phase (Average is over 10 for un-medicated cycles and over 15 with medication use)
• 9-47 ng/ml First trimester
• 17-146 ng/ml Second Trimester
• 49-300 ng/ml Third Trimester

Also, yes, I have read taht your HCG will level out and start to drop around the 2nd trimester. I dont know why, but I did read it happens.

Dakota - Well RE gave us the go this morning, so I'm a bit freaked out. We've already had IC a few times, but I haven't let myself get far enough for the big O. DH is so wanting that to happen, but I'm just a freak and could go the next 8 months without that happening...so paranoid :) I completely understand being overwhelmed about finally being pregnant, give youself some time and know that this is your time, your miracle, and your beautiful babies. I'm ok with the books, etc, but the u/s totally put me over the edge. Actually hearing a heartbeat and knowing that little miracle is growing inside of me was just so wonderful. I am so sorry your dog isn't doing well, the added stress is just too much and I know first hand that our animals are our children and there's nothing we can do about the emotion, it's just the way it is. I also hope DH is enjoying his last annual 2 week fishing trip with the boys

Hopeful - Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to run out this weekend and pick some up. It's absolutely all worth it, and if I recall, I did ask for the m/c :) My RE gave us the go this morning, but I wish they would make us wait for the 2nd trimester. I know for sure that if I cramp afterwards I'm going to put an end to it, just not worth any risk to me. Oh yeah, I'm not leaving the office next time until I have at least 2-3 pictures and I'm going to mention it to my RE that the other doc didn't give us any..totally pissed me off. I'm also going to ask if they can record the heartbeat, would love to have that keepsake as well.

Hope everyone is having a great Friday so far!

Oh yeah, about the HCG. I think I read that your HCG levels start to go down during the 2nd trimester because the placenta has actually taken over.

Hey ladies!

Sorry I've been out of touch a bit. It's been a busy week at work, and I've been just exhausted when I get home! I've been reading, just haven't had much time to post...

Everything is well with me. No m/s...a little stomach discomfort, but nothing too serious...very tired...and sore, itchy cheeks! One week from today will be my first U/S. I can't wait! Time is CRAWLING!!

Dakota - So sorry to hear you're having a tough time with Sitara. I can't imagine how you and her must both be suffering. Hugs to you and her! The books I'm reading are: Guide to Healthy Pregnancy (Mayo Clinic). Organic Pregnancy. Green Baby. Your Vegetarian Pregnancy. I've also picked up a couple of pregnancy magazines. Every night when we get in bed, my DH reads to me from his book So You're Gonna Be a Dad. He picked up several books from B&N last week, and is having a lot of fun sharing with me the guys' perspective. I just love seeing him get so into it...he's really really excited. I'm so jealous of you and all of your U/S!! Can't wait to get there with you!

Angram - I agree with you about the books...there are all very similar. It's like there isn't one that is quite right for everything I want to read and know about! Oh well. I've borrowed a few from the library and also bought a couple at the bookstore. I wish they sold a remote control with a FF button...I'd definitely buy that over any of these books!!

Hopeful - I keep going back to look at your U/S photos. Thanks for sharing them...I can't stop looking!!!

Jude - How are you feeling? Is the wait for your U/S making you crazy? Do you go in for any more betas? Going such a long time without seeing/talking to my doc and nurses is just so strange!!! Hope you are passing the time by with some fun!

Adsgril- That is do cool that DH is reading books. If it doesnt have cars, trucks or bb's I'm out of luck with trying to get DH to read. He does alot of reading on the internet, then thinks he is a pro
Time does crawl!!! You've got to be going out of your mind. Its only been 3 days and I am so ready to see my babues again. I hear 8 weeks is a great time being they have arms & legs and they move them around. Some have described them to look like little gummy bears. I am SO excited!!! You'll be 8 weeks for yur scan right? I've read that if you want to see movement to eat a tiny piece of dark chocolate and just that little bit of sugar will get them moving. Too bad I cant have sugar :x

Angram- We'll I know what you've been up to lately :P I cant wait to be released for sex!!! DH and I have always been very active and have never gone this long before (7wks?). Although DH mentioned the other day I think he is afraid of it right now. So who knows??
I started to get choked up with the first u/s seeing and then the 2nd when I heard the HB, but I refuse to cry in front of people, its stupid I know, but I swollow it back. I had a really hard time when I heard the heartbeats, I almost lost it. Plus sometimes I dont think all of this is real. Its been so long that when I look at the monitors it just a tv, those are not mine...really? I think by reading those books the other day it all really just hit me like a ton of bricks.

I feel really good this morning. I got a good solid 4 hours of sleep last night and I woke up with all the bloating and gas being gone. Whoohoo! The gas bloating is horrible
Yesterday I was pretty queezy all day and miserable from having that bad night.

Well, since I have this spirt of energy I better get cracking on cleaning house since I dont know how long its going to last. Hope all is well with everyone.

I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow....Whhoohhoooo!!

Hey all,

Dakota - I'm glad that you are feeling better today, and hope the spirit carried you through some nice house cleaning. 8 years is a long time to wait for something, so I'm not surprised that you feel overwhelmed. I expect that it will take a while for everything to sink in, but you deserve every minute of this wonderful time. What day is your next scan coming up? Gummi bears sound cute!

Adsgirl - glad you are feeling okay, time is very much crawling by. I don't have another beta or anything, so just have another 11 days  to go until my U/S. I can't wait to hear how yours goes, so that is my first count down! I think that it is lovely that DH is reading to you in bed, he sounds great. I'm with Dakota on my DH, but it would have to have fish or boats in it for him to happily read it

Angram, I hope you had a great Friday night? - that is if you managed to stay awake!!

Hopeful - yes, the HCG levels are definately meant to peak and then start going down again. This site has a cool graph, and then a doubling time calculator as well.

http://www.obfocus.com/questions/qanda7.htm

and this is what I read somewhere else, so Angram you are correct!

The purpose of HcG is to keep the estrogen and progesterone levels at their appropriate levels until the placenta has developed enough to take this function over. HcG levels will reach as high as almost 300,000 mIU/ml (level) and will peak out at 10 - 12 weeks.

Well, we went to a friend of ours daugher's wedding today, which was lovely. There was a chocolate fountain at the reception!! Mmmm. I got to about 3pm and then DH says, 'by the look of your eyes, we're not going to make the after party tonight then'. I was so tired! So we came home and slept for a while. Every now and then if something happens, he'll be like 'well you are pregnant now!' , and I'll be so happy to remember that's why! It's not that I forget, but just to be reminded by him is so great! Nothing much else happening here, just tired and a bit crampy still, and waiting waiting and reading reading about whats going on inside!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday x

Jude - My DH has been the same way and reminds me daily that we're pregnant :) He's so worried though that every single odd look I make he asks is everything ok and if there's anything he can do to help me from geting stressed in any way...hmm, didn't realize I could use this so much

Dakota - We have been released, but I've actually been terribly sick (m/s) since Friday and didn't even move off the couch yesterday until around 5pm. I finally took a shower and ran a couple of errands with DH, but was back on the couch by 9pm. I can't quite figure out what triggers my really bad days, but it was a blend of a really bad handover and motion/sea sickness. I know it's a good sign, but oh my it's bad. I'm thaknful there's no vomiting though, so I'm lucky there :)

Adsgirl - Can't wait to hear about your first u/s, it is wonderful. I totally agree with time crawling, same here!! We have our 2nd one a week from Monday and it can't come soon enough.

Angram- My RE told me no matter what to eat every 2 hours. I eat at 8,10,12,2,4,6,8 and something really, really small at 10 if I am up before bed. Like a piece of toast. He said this avoids sickness and if I eat a big meal, all at once when I get hungry again I will get queezy. And he is so right. I eat 7 small meals a day and if I go 3 hours I start to feel queezy. I dont get nausous, but queezy and if I eat right away, if I I dont want it, it goes away. Chocolate milk seems to be the best quick cure.

A little update on my pooches. Sitara is doing well with her sickness, but it seems that Ziggy, her brother has developed anxiety over her sickness. I had NO idea that this can happen. I spent 4 hours at the vet today to learn this and leave with anti-anxiety meds for him. I've been SO stressed over this I hope everything is OK with the babes. I am going to go tomorrow to get one of my famous relaxing pedicures to try an help relax me. Wed cant get here soon enough for my next u/s.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Dakota - I totally agree with your RE and I have been eating every 2 hours (or so), but nothing seems to make the nausea go away. I'm also absolutely starving all of the time, my goodness my ass is going to get huge  I'm trying to snack on yogurt and fruit, but lately the only thing that makes me feel semi-better is potato chips, I guess it's the salt? The only big meal I'm able to eat is lunch, and I try to eat a salad with some sort of meat in it or a pasta dish, but dinner sounds horrible so I eat something small. Anyhoo, it'll be over in a few weeks and it's all totally worth it!! :)

I'm so glad to hear Sitara is doing well, but sucks about Ziggy. Animals are completely aware of what the other is feeling, so it's not surprising. I hope the new meds help Ziggy cope a little better and I hope your famous relaxing pedi's helps you :) I need to get one myself this week, sounds perfect right now.

Adsgirl- Your u/s is on Friday right? How are you holding up??

Jude- I cant wait to see how many little buggers you have in there  One week and 1 day left!!!

Angram- You are going to be so amazed at the growth your little one will have in the 2 weeks since you saw last. Its amazing!!

I go for my 3rd and final u/s with RE tomorrow. I am so nervous. I dotn like when I go through those stages when I dont feel anything. It scares the crap out of me!!!

I am heading out to Old Navy at lunch to see if I can pick up a few pair of maternity capri's. I am down to 2 pair of pants and 1 skirt that I can wear. I went through my closet last night trying stuff on and I dont have enough to get me through the week. I am even having trouble with the rubber band trick since the zipper wont go all the way up.

Boy, I have been addicted to chocolate milk!!!

I cant wait for tomorrow!!! Aaahhh. I am so excited. I've read that I will be able to see the little arms and legs and they may be flailing all around.

Hope all is feeling well.

Adsgirl - Good luck tomorrow!
I can't believe you finally got there, and only one more night to go for you!!!
How many weeks and days will you be tomorrow?
Can't wait to hear how it goes. Hope you are okay.

I'm just hanging in and waiting, the last few days I've been mega tired and went to bed at 8.30 last night
 and slept all the way to 6 this morning!! (with a few pee breaks). Today though, I don't feel half so tired, and not so crampy or nauseous. This is bothering me - crazy, I feel worried if I cramp, and worried if I dont'. Grr!! Can't wait for next Wed.!!

Dakota, I hope you are feeling a little better today hun.

Thanks, Jude! Yes, my U/S is tomorrow morning. I can't wait! I'm constantly checking to make sure there's no blood or spotting. So far, so good! I am not feeling too nauseated, and no constipation. Still very tired, though. My cheeks are very itchy from the PIO, so my nurse told me there's an alternative they can switch me over to. I'll get more info on that tomorrow. DH and I just can't wait for our apt tomorrow! I will be 6wd.
