Hi all, my name is Ana, I have been reading but did not post before. I am from Costa Rica and went to the US to do an IVF because it is not legal here, lucky me I got pregnant in my first attempt. I am 24w4d pregnant with two boys and have a question for you guys. I began feeling my babies a few weeks ago, it has been great, at first the movements were very subtle, but oh my now they are kicking sooooo hard! And they kick me also like in the inside, like my bladder or something... did this happened to you? I am just freaking out that maybe they are positioned too low and that they get here too soon. I don´t know if I am crazy or what, it has been so hard to get to this point that you think about every little thing, and I thought I would be more calm after week 12... Ja! I guess I will stop the paranoia until I have my healthy babies on my arms...
Thanks so much to all of you who have gone through this, for taking the time and answering our questions!

Hello All,
We arrived safely to Boise, Idaho afer spreading the trip to two days. The first day from Seattle to Lewiston, ID was pretty good as we found a nice little park for the kids to stretch and play. The second day was a little caotic since we didn't take much break and then Alyson had a poop explosion in the carseat. We stopped and let's say that the serenity of beautiful river and mountains were shaken by my three kids screaming. None the less, we are here and enjoying seeing family and friends!

Gennessa, Kimberli, Rubylee and Ana welcome and congratulations! I didn't have any m/s luckily with my first singleton pregnancy as well as twin pregnancy. I didn't gain that much weight until I hit about 20 weeks. I think at 12th week I only gained about 4 pounds, but in the end I gained 50 pounds in total, so I am sure you will do fine. Kimberli, my twins at 1 month were taking milk every there hours. From 2 months, they started to take once in 4 hours. If you want to keep them on the same schedule, I think it would be good to awake them for now every three hours. The nurses at NICU told me to feed them not longer than every 4 hours. If your twins seem not hungry after three hours then them may be ready to stretch the in-between time. That's what happen to my twins and we changed to 3 1/2 hours and then to 4, which they still are on. Ana, twins take up so much room that they stretch from right at the rib cage to vey low in the pelvic area. My babies which were both breech used to kick me in my bladder, too, and I was so uncomfortable. I am sure your doctor can address your concern, but I think it's very normal. Gennessa, I had a C-section as well for the same reason as Kim, breech baby. It wasn't too bad though with good pain killers!

Woodcliff, good luck with the drive and the concert. That's sweet your friend's introducing your twins to the audience. Hopefully your babies sleep in the car! Have fun! or maybe this has happend already. haha. I have't been on the site for two days.

Kim, I wish you could fly out! Thanks for an advice re jogging stroller. I need to go to a store where they sell them and test it out. I figured, it will be pretty useful since I have to follow my two-year-old off paved roads. Also, I can work on my baby weight... Good on your for jogging! I admire people who work out expecially, Moms. I bought a brand new running shoes, but yet to do a road test!!

Sameera, so sorry you have hard time sleeping. I was the same way and woke up every three hours or so. It was almost impossible to sleep in longer stretches. I have no advice, but just wanted to let you know I feel for you!! Nap during the day if you can. I worked from home and sware fell asleep working at my desk.

Kimberley, great! Oh my gosh, cannot believe you are bungee jumping. I am afraid of height and I just cannot imagine willingly falling from somewhere high. Have fun. You are so sweet!!! Looking forward to meeting you and your little ones. They are like celebrity babies to me because have been seeing their photos online for ages! I've PM'd you my cell number, let me know if you have it. Just in case I am staying at TownePlace Suites on Capital Blvd (reserved under my first name and Campbell).

Oh boy, hope I didn't miss anyone.
Have a good weekend!

Hi everyone ,

Ladies plzzzzzzz help me ..... i really cannot decide whether to go for a vaginal delivery or a C-section. I am 36 weeks pregnant with twin boys . Both are head down .My OB says I can try for a vaginal . But i have read so many stories about the stress on the twin B during vaginal or how the twin B might change his position . It is really getting hard for me to decide . Is anyone of you going to try vaginal . My OB never suggets anything . She just tells me all the pros and cons (which i already know since i got pregnant

plzzzz help .

I have that same concern. I have a quite a few more weeks to make that decision, but I can understand your dilemma. I want to have vaginal but I am afraid of having to go through that and then ending up needing an epidural anyways because they can't get baby b out and that is the last thing I want is to have an emergency situation.

Let me know what you decide

baby2008: I have thought about this a lot...as of the moment both of my babies are breach so it would be c-section anyways. However, even if they were both in the down position I think I will still do c-section. I just asked the doctor about statistics that both babies born...usually they have to go in and get the second out so that would be the pain from labor then the section...so I am about 90% sure I am all c-section.

Ana--welcome and congrats! I wouldn't worry too much...just keep your doc addressed of your concerns. Twins take up a TON of room...it's amazing how our bodies will "smush" our insides together to make room for the babies.

baby2008--I had a c/s because my son was breech. However, I have a good friend who delivered vaginally with no problems. I do understand your concerns, though. Because (before my son went breech and I was planning on vaginal) one of my biggest fears was delivering one baby vaginally and then having to do a c/s on baby B. That would be horrible! I do know that my hospital automatically delivers twins in the surgical room (not the nicer birthing rooms)--just in case they have to go in and get a baby. Honestly, if it were me, I'd probably try to go vaginally--just because that was something I really wanted to do. But, I wouldn't blame you in the least if you decided to go for a section. Good luck! You're almost there!

Quick question. Any of you who have delivered: did you start to get really nauseated and throw up more in the third tri? Lately I just feel sick all the time and can not keep a lot of food in me. Probably the baby just sitting up high? Also, still getting contractions and one of the babies is right on my cervix which makes it hurt and feel a little stabbing pain?

When do you know to go to the hospital and when not? I have been in and out and it is just annoying me! I want to wait to call the doc tomorrow but then I dont because "what if." Last visit at the hospital I was 60% effaced and 1cm dilated...I am 28 1/2 weeks. I have been on strict bed rest so I dont know why everything just spurs up again...so annoying! Any advice would be great!

Sugabeanz....Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that you're having nausea. I've never heard of that. I'd probably play it safe and get checked out. YOu never know----I know going into L & D is annoying, but you want to make sure everything's okay. Keep us posted!

Suga - sorry about your nausea hope it goes away for you. speaking of nausea I have been throwing up since yesterday myself for whatever reason. I was fine and all of a sudden started throwing up.

I called my OB and she prescribed Phenegran but told me to keep drinking liquid and to call her if I'm really thirsty and not pee peeing ALOT in 8 hours then that means I'm dehydrated and to call her ASAP..

scary thing - ugh i have been drinking lots of water but I'm so thirsty and been going to restroom but not ALOT is coming out - even though i have been drinking glasses after glasses.. I'm getting scared I don't want to have to go to hospital so they can hook me to IV fluids but I will if i need to.

oh one more thing - how do you know what month you are or how far long you are in pregnancy?? I'm 16w4d as of today almost 17 weeks and I was wondering would that be considered 4 months??

Have any of you read or are following Dr Luke's diet for expecting twins? One of my twin books is promoting it and I was curious if anyone is following it or has followed it and has any opinions.

Dakota,
I thought Dr Luke's book was very helpful and full of info. Im 19 weeks preg and still keep pulling it out when I have a relevant question.
Sameera, how are you feeling? Do you think you have a virus or does it seem to be preg related?>
I had my genetic u/s last Thurs and ended up with a double amnio. Coupled with my bloodwork, I had two "soft markers" for Downs. It was a very upsetting day. Did any of the twin moms have any of this testing? It is all so invasive and really not what I would have chosen but we did feel the need to "know". My soft markers were a white spot on the heart (calcium deposit and found on many "normal" babies) on baby A and the kidneys had retained some fluid (also baby A). Everything else measured fine, but the dr (who is not pro- amnio) recommended I have one. The waiting game is HELL but I expect a call this afternoon.
This preg thing is a roller coaster!!!! I am sure you will all agree. But well worth it!

Sara - I'm really sorry that you had an upsetting day but have faith everything will work out.

I agree this whole pregnancy/IVF was and is a rollercoaster! but I hope and pray all is well with you and your babies.

I think it's pregnancy related - besides throwing up and nausea I don't have any other symptoms neither do I have fever..
