Good Evening Mommies!

First of all, Congrats Sarah on the good news!!!! You must be celebrating right now! It's a scary ride but I think it will only get better for you from here. I am very happy for you! :D :D :D

Dakota~ Hello! I haven't read the book you ask about but I didn't really have any issues and was pretty much good with the "What to expect when you are ecpecting" Book. My pg was esay but I imagine if it's more challenging you would want a bit more Q&A. Hope all is well~

Sugabeanzs~So sorry you are having some issues! First of all, no Dr. visit is too much! These are people we are talking about and never feel silly or bad about going. . .even if it's a lot! I just let myself call whenever I wanted and if they said to come in I would. No harm in calling! :D Let us know how you are doing. Hugs!

Baby2008~ Althoug I wanted a 100% natural birth, I understood why my OB wanted me to have the epideral at least. That way if things went wrong we could do an emergency cs w/o putting me under. I agreed but had an emergency c-section in the end. My babies changed positions so many times that I could have never planned a thing. :? If I could do it anyway I wanted I would have done 100% natural! We were made for this!

Kimi! I had such a great time meeting you and your family!!!! By the way everyone, BEAUTIFUL family!!!!!!!!!! Those children are hard not to pick up and squeeze!!!! Sean was the prettiest boy I have seen in some time and the faces on those twins could melt hearts from a million miles away! You are sooooo skinny already and your dh is very sweet. Lucky woman!!! I am just so tickled we got to meet up. Sorry it was such a crazy weekend for me. I'm still tired! I hope we can do this every year. Thank you for making the time for us and lettign us invade your hotel room. It was so neat to finally know one of us! I would ahve like hours with you because I felt like we just tapped the ice berg but I am still excited about that! Hope you are home safe soon. HUGS!

Kim~Obviously we met! So much fun!!!!! It wasn't long but it's just so great to be in person with the women you can count on to understand your life right now. I hope all is well with you and your kiddos! We are just recovering from a GREAT weekend but I hope we are back to normal soon. :D

The weekend was great!!!! Had so much fun and although our bunjee man canceled on us we stilll had a blast. We are super tired and need a vacation but at least we were all happy and well! The babies even had a sitter! Ok, they were alseep when we left but it was still time away from us right???  Bodie is crawling EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! Keeps us so busy! Better go bc dh is all alone and still recovering from the weekend!

HUGS to everyone!!! I just love this group!

Hi Ladies,

First of all, Kimberley, thanks for coming to see us in Boise!! It was really nice meeting you in person and my gosh, what an inspiration you are. Everyone, she's officially gorgeous and as nice as she sounds on the message board. She's the real thing. And the babies, they are really beautiful and sweet. I got to see Bodie crawling and was able to hold him, too. Annelise let me touch her toes and was observing me with her beautiful hazel eyes. I could have chatted for hours and I had more things I wanted to ask, but I was very happy we were able to see each other. The ride back went pretty well, although it took hours longer than we'd planned. We left Boise at 10:30 AM and arrived at my house around 8:30 PM. All in all, we had a great time in Boise and we've decided to do this every year. So, hope we are able to see you next year, too!

Sara! What a great news! I am very relieved for you. Good job overcoming the difficult time. You made it and now you can really focus on all the excitment your little beanies are going to bring!

Sugarbeanz, how is your bedrest going? I would call a doctor whenever you have a question or any concerns. I understand it gets annoying, but you and your babies' safety come first and you definitely know your body best. Hang in there. Everyday your babies are growing stronger!

Sameera, I went by what it says on the chapter title section of the book, What to expect... I think you are 4 months if you are 17 weeks. The article you posted is amazing. What a miracle baby!

Dakota, I took a lot of advice Dr. Luke gave on her book, especially regarding protein. My babies were big and I really think it has helped. I am not good at following any set diet programs, so I just made sure I do the best I can with what I have around me.

Kim, yep we met! She's really cute (also her clothes and shoes) and such a joyful person. I wish you'd lived closer! Would that be fun for all of us to have a playdate.

Gosh, today is my laundry day but realized we are out of laundry soap! Should I go to the store and buy the detergent? That's the question of the day. Is it more important to get the laundry done than staying home in my PJ all day? Somehow, I think it is...

Take care everyone!

Kimi and Kholtan--I'm so super jealous that you got to meet each other! Maybe someday when our kids are older, we can all meet at the Twins festival in Twinsburg, Ohio. Another twins friend of mine has been bugging me to go this year, but i"m going to wait until they're older! I think it's usually the first weekend in August. We'll have to make a date for the future!

Kholtan--sorry to hear about no bungee jumping....maybe another time! (BTW--I used to be more adventurous pre-babies--I went skydiving once--nearly forgot to open my shoot cause I kept screaming the whole way down! ) THese days, I'm not so adventurous.......maybe it's age?

Sameera--How are you feeling? Did you find anything out?

Hi Everyone,
I've posted the photo I took with Kimberley on my blog.
http://thecampbell-ozawa.blogspot.com/
You can click on it to enlarge.
Kimberley, you can right click it and save it on your computer. Out of three photos we took, this was the most decent one but of course someone is always looking away!
Cheers,

Hi ladies how are you guys doing?

My OB prescribed me phenegran for nausea and it has helped me tremendously - I'm not throwing up anymore just very nauseated and that prescription med makes me so darn sleepy.

it's so hard to stay awake at work - I only take half a pill so i don't fall asleep. LOL

I have a question for you ladies -

I was thinking of just using one crib for both the babies till they are about 4-5 months old and was going to use those "Wedges or Sleep Positioners" to keep them away from rolling onto eachother..

I have read mixed opinions about it and I'm not sure if they are safe or should I just go ahead get two cribs??

what do you guys recommend - I know some of you ladies have already went thru all this.

tolbee--LOVE the pic of you and Kholtan! You both look great and your kiddos are too cute! (even the bashful one!)

Sameera--Glad you're feeling better! I did sleep my two together int he same crib until they were 4 months old. THen they started bothering each other and waking each other up. I've never used sleep wedges or positioners...but I have read that they may not be very "safe" for SIDS. My kiddos loved to be swaddled when they were tiny, so I never had to worry about them rolling around--plus, most babies don't roll for the first month or so anyway. I think Braeden was an early roller (around 6 weeks)...but not from his back to his stomach...that came much later. IMO--I wouldn't buy any of that stuff unless you find a real need for it. I had two cribs from the beginning...but one crib was literally just a storage place until I separated the babies!

KIm - Thanks for your kind advise.. I think that's what I'm gonna do is get two cribs.

I do not want to get anything that isn't safe for the babies then I will be worrying about everything.

Hi Everyone!
Loved the pic, ladies! How cool you got to meet after all of this computer talk!!!
Sameera, I was wondering about crib too. My plan is to have one crib initially and when they start to wake each other up or get somewhat mobile (4 or 5 months) get another one. I really dont think you need the wedges at all for the beginning anyway. And one crib will still look pretty big with two babies in it. They really dont move much at all for several months (at least my other two didnt). I have somehow convinced myself that after all that time in the womb, they will want to be together in a crib (in the beginning). I plan on having a co sleeper next to my bed, too. So who knows if they will ever even make it in the crib together at night (maybe at naptime in day?!).
I have a dr appt this afternoon. I am hoping they can make me feel better about having had the amnio. Its so hard to not worry now that I know both babies are healthy in there!

Hi Ladies,
I need help. My girls are just about 6 wks now. We do baths every night around 7:30 or so and then a bottle afterwards. (I do bottles on both of them b/c of latching issues, I do pump and they get breastmilk during the day and last 2 bottles at night are formula). My problem is after the bottle after bathtime my one girl Jaqulynne will not go to sleep. She is so tired, yawning, rubbing her eyes. She has a full belly, dry diaper. She'll start fussing after awhile in which I go lay her down. She cries and cries and nothing I do soothes her. Rocking etc...I even try putting her in the swing and vibrating seat. This goes on until the next feed around 11/11:30. I don't know what to do. She is so miserable and so tired any help will be greatly appreciated. They usually eat every 3-4 hrs. IT changes from day to day, which is very frustrating b/c we have no set schedule. Usually at night they'll wake once around 3 or 4 I feed them and they'll sleep for about another 4 hrs then after that it varies 3-4 hrs. I was told to let them sleep till they wake as long as it doesn't go past 4 hrs. Should I be doing different? Any advice to make our evenings little more peaceful would be greatly appreciated.

Kimberlii--I remember that age being a little tough....they're old enough to fuss a little more (especially in the evening). I have to wonder if she's over-tired? It's MUCH more difficult to get a baby to sleep if they're past the "magic" moment, kwim? I would try to put her to bed earlier. Try skipping the bath one night---they really don't need baths every day at this age. Heck, mine don't get baths every day at OUR age! Do you have the book BABYWISE? It helped us immensely! I know some people don't like the plan, but it's definitely worth checking out and trying. It suggests how to get them on a schedule (which, IMO, is REALLY important when you have twins), and it tells you about the right "wake time"/"sleep times" for your babies. Good luck!

Hi Ladies,

Sameera, my twins are five months and they sleep separately now. They were sleeping together in a portable crib in the living room until about 2 months-old. I discovered that they sleep longer and more peacefully when they are separated. Also, my babies are tall and they would not fit sideway anymore. About the positioner, I've heard some stories where babies suffocate, so I would not use them...

Sara, hope your appt goes well today!

Kimberli, oh boy that sounds a little tough. Hang in there. Those phases will pass quickly. I've heard that for some babies, bath can be more stimulating than calming them, so like Kim said maybe you can try not bathing your baby near bedtime. I bathe mine during the daytime. I used babywise, too. How many naps and how long do your babies take during the day? Mine still get about five hours nap in three different sessions and if they get less, they will take longer time to calm down at night. Good luck and hang in there!

Kimi: Thanks for the sleeping info. I guess you never really know until you are "in it" but it is good to know many different options. I think a lot of it is prob personality of the baby and the family. I have never used Babywise in the past but every baby I know that sleeps well before the age of one, the mom and dad have used that method. We were very much "attachment parenting" with our first two kids, co sleeping, the whole nine yards. And I think we enabled bad sleepers (in hindsight). They now sleep great (at 4 and 6!!) but I think we tortured ourselves more than we needed to when they were younger. With twins, I think it is very smart to try to get on a schedule...for everyones sanity. I am sure it is easier said than done!
I agree that when babies or kids are overtired, they dont seem to be able to go to sleep (or stay asleep) well. I find that when I "tire" my kids out in a day and let them go to bed late, they dont sleep well.
My appt went well today. Cerclage in place, no dilation, and babies seem fine post amnio. Whew...I will still breathe easier after four weeks but I will TRY to relax now!
