Hi Priya, Jaz, Kerry, and Lisa...looks like we have a nice bunch of people in the 2www..i've been on this forum for quite a while and its also nice to join a thread, for abbreviations...u can look at under general..sticky..abbreviations..it's fun! Im also going crazy...yesterday i had a different kind of cramps than before...read somewhere that cramps reflect the embies snuggling into the lining...hope that is true. My test is 8/1 cuz my clinic tests 18 days after ET..don't know why...technically if you test + (BFP)...then u are 4 weeks preggers. Ahhh...what a nice thought. I hope we all get BFP!!! I'm from the DC area. Take care!
me 33 DH 34
TTC 4 yrs
unexplained, 3 failed IUI
7/7 IVF #1
7/18 ET - 2 embies
8/1 BFP!

Mind if I join?

Post by tortillachip »

Hi all,
I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. This is my first time doing IVF. The doc retrieved 9 follicles on Monday (July 21) and 7 fertilized...we will be transferring the embryos on Thursday (tomorrow July 24). Still not sure how many. This is all so foreign to me and it's hard to understand ALL the abbreviations-kind of overwhelming to me. I'm just happy to find a place where I can talk to other women going through the same thing I am, rather than talking my husband's ear off all the time. My thoughts are with each and every one of you gals.
Much love

Hi Priya, Kerry, Lisa, Babyloves and welcome tortillachip-
I'm in Texas- Plano/Dallas area.
The waiting is driving me nuts as well. I keep thinking of how I will tell my husband when I get the good news. Im assuming I do the blood work than they will call me in a few hrs? My appt is at 8am so that is good. I'm sure I won't be able to sleep the night before. That's how it was with my other tests.
I things for those of you in Englad it's longer because of the urine tests..as you guys stated.

Babylove I'm glad to hear that about the cramping. I've had it on and off. Yes, and the boob tenderness.

Tortillachip- sounds like your off to a great start! Your story is somewhat similar to mine. My transfer was last Thursday. I had 7 folls, 4 fert and we had 2 put in. These were the best 2 out of the 4. Not sure about your age and situation, but normall 2-3 is what they will transfer. Best of LUCK to you on Thursday. The transfer was very quick and afterwards I slept for an hr in the clinic.

Kerry-
Spending time with my sister and nephews is what makes my days better! It defiantly takes your mind of things. So I know what you mean.

Hi babyloves, Lisa, Priya, Jaz and welcome tortillachip,

Thanks for the reassurance guys, I'm feeling much better this afternoon. I spent the afternoon with my friends and their children and it did actually take my mind off things.

I had about 10 sessions of acupuncture before and during my treatment which I've heard really helps with success rates, I'm due another session on friday and I'm looking forward to it. I really do think it helps to calm your spirit, well it did up until this morning.

I'm glad your all doing well and I do look forward to us all getting some good results.

Take care

Hey Everyone:
welcome tortillachip :)
Just came back from my acupuncture - it was OK - I did relax a little but mind just kept wandering off to other things :( .
Have a little head ache now - is it common Kerry? This was my first so I am not sure.
I was in a good mood in the morning but as the day is passing by am feeling a little low - I blame it on progesterone
Think will watch a comedy movie. Have taken this month off from work which is not helping at all.

Tortillachip - best of luck on the ER - let us know how it went.

Hugs:
Priya

Hi Priya,

I find when I have the needle in the forehead I tend to get a headache, funny I suffer with migraine and she puts the needle there to help. Try not to move wherever the needles go in as I find it causes discomfort.

I also find the whole IVF treatment causes an increase in headaches due to all the stress. I to have taken time off work. I'm a gynae nurse and think that the ward at the moment is the worst place for me, there is no such thing as light duties on a surgical ward. I too feel that being off is not always a good idea so a bit of a catch 22 for me.

Atleast we all have eachother for support when feeling down. Keep your chin up Priya and enjoy that comedy, I'm sure it will help.
Take care

Just wondering how everyone is feeling today, hope you are all well and sending you loads of baby dust.

I feel fine today no symptoms no cramps is this a good sign not sure, but staying positive as it is useally later in the day when I start to feel things.

Trying not to anzalise everything to much, very difficult though, wishing you all the best. x

Hi Lisa and everyone else,

I would like to say I have been feeling positive and not analysing everything but I would be lying.
I went to bed last night with a migraine, after talking with Priya about headaches, I got a whopper. I could'nt take my migraine tablet as I dont feel it is safe in pregnancy. I woke up this morning with it still. I took some paracetamol and lay in bed thinking I am not pregnant because someone told me once, usually if you suffer with headaches they tend to subside in pregnancy, therefore I took it that my treatment has not worked and lay in bed feeling terrible.

I know how silly this is I'm a nurse and sometimes I feel I just question everything and I really should know better.
Anyway I've had a shower, my headache has subsided alittle, the weather is beautiful outside so I'm going to take a walk and maybe go and see my mum, also the really early pregnancy tests are on sale at boots, buy one get one free so I might go and buy a couple but will not use them until sunday monday.

Hope your still feeling better today Priya, the office is great for making you feel cheery.

I hope my negativity doesn't rub off on anyone, sorry for moaning.
Take care all and talk to you later.

lisa : I have not been feeling anything since ET - but not everyone feels the symptoms - so it could still have implanted but is just being sneaky.
I wish there were a sign or something so when implantation happened we knew instantly :)

Kerry - I Hope ur migraine is better now and the walk helped.
I was OK till I had to go to bed and then the headache started again and is still there when I got up - hopefully after a cup of tea it will be OK.
Don't worry too much about it you will be fine. I did read online that sometimes headaches are sign of implantation - am hoping its that for both of us.
You have given me a good idea - after my breakfast may be I will walk to the drug store and get some of the preg test myself for Sunday :) :) .

Hope everyone else is doing good today.

Love
Priya

Hi everyone-
Hope all is well. I'm not feeling any cramps today! I'm not sure if that is a good sign or not??? This weekend will be hard to keep busy. I've been at work so that helps keep my mind on other things. We have plans to have dinner with some freinds on Saturday.
Passing to everyone positive baby vibes!!!!
