Hi all -

I have 4th stage endo and could never get prego naturally so DH and I tried our very first cycle of IVF. Thank GOD it was a very successful one too. I am about 8 weeks and already saw my peanut and heard the heartbeat. Don't loose hope and have lots of faith and pray. I am so happy and feel so blessed that this has finally happened to us. This will also be our very first baby.

Good Luck!

I"ll tell you in 1 week! I"ve had it for 10 years and had 2 surgeries because of it, which caused a whole lot of scar tissue. They believe it is gone now, but my fertility issues are now related to the clogged tubes as a result of the scar tissue, but who knows? I never knew that it could age your ovaries until I started IVF. I managed to produce 11 follicles and 8 fertilized, but I don't know yet if it took. What's your story? Are you doing IVF or thinking abou it?

I have stage 4 endo and the RE found an endometrioma on my left side before starting IVF. I had a laparascopy about a year before going through my IVF cycle. We had 10 eggs retrieved, 9 fertilized and only 2 left on day 5 transfer. I am now 5 1/2 weeks along and got my BFP 1 week ago. I will find out in about a week if it's 1 or 2 when we get to see the heartbeat.

Good luck, it can happen for you too!

Hi Kelly,

Congrats on your BFP!!! I had stage 4 endo too and went for laparoscopy surgery early of this year. Now I'm starting my 1st IVF/ICSI and the tentative ER will be on 10/17.

I'm happy to hear that we still have the chance to become pregnant and hearing all the successful stories gives me strength to brave through the challenges ahead. Thanks.

Good luck everyone!!

hi ladies
sorry to barge in but i thought someone might be able to answer a question seeing you have already or are about to have IVF with endo. the question is how does the treatment differ from some one who doesn't have it to some one who has . I myself have had 2 ivf cycles and one FET but are now suspecting i may have endo if it's mild does the doc do anything about it or just up the ivf doses it's all so exspensive and i'm not getting any younger so i don't know if i'm best to explore the possibility of haveing endo which means i may have to wait up to a year or so for a laparoscopy (going publically) or try another cycle with out worrying about it. What do you ladies think.

Nicoleslp99 I know iv'e jumped in on your thread but i thought it maybe helpfully for you also if someone replies hope you don't mind.

Webgirl:

Congrats :D

What did they do when they gave u your 'Lap' i assume u had laser or summit else as a lap is just to look about??

Im having another IVF starting next mth and am VERY concerned that my endo is gonna get in the way - i suffer lately from very bad clots (sorry tmi) and im concerned that i might need a D&C to 'clean me up' or at least have laser on my endo ....

Hi,

The lap was day surgery and it went pretty well. For years, I had cramps so bad that I stayed home from school and work, they knew I had endo but didn't know how bad it was. Once my RE got in there.. They found it, lots of spider webs (a term they use) all over my uterus. They lasered it out and took pics of everything. There was lots of tissue that had been disturbed and my RE let me keep the pics for future use.

They made 3 small incisions in my abdominal area and they have faded since that time... It was the best thing I ever did. However, I can tell you the endo is coming back, as i still get cramps, yes even while I've been prego. My RE says that's the bad thing about endo... It never really leaves....

Best of Luck, I hope this was helpful...

Hi,

Thanks for ur response.

I've had 3 laps done before, the first was to have a look about to find out what was causing me the problems (this was 15 years ago) then when i woke they told me it was possible endo - a few mths later i had another lap as it was getting worse, here i was told that the best thing was to have (wait for it) a full hystorectomy! I'd already had 2 children so decided that this was better than getting the pain!
By the time i got to the top of the waiting list for the hystorectomy, my DR had retired and in his place was a younger DR who refused point blank to do the operation to me (thankfully now i appreciate it) he said i was way too young (24 at the time) but that he would give me another lap and laser out any endo he see's.
The op went fine and i was in no pain for about another 6 - 8mths, but then it all started comming back again. Ive had numerous drugs and injections for the endo over the past 15 years, but the side effects were always worse - so i now put up with the pain every mth. I havent taken anything for the pain in the last 10 years, just the usual pain killers from chemist etc.

We have now reached the top of the NHS list so its a case of 'its now or never' This is our last chance, but im just concerned because the past few mths my clots each mth have had me doubled up in pain (the pain goes once the clot passes) but they seem to be very big - im worried that this might effect the embies implanting!

Suppose i will just have to wait and see, cross all fingers (and toes) and hope that i will get lucky :)

I have undergone 2 lap procedures in 2 years for severe endo. My periods were terrible, and the cramps so bad I have actually been to the emergency room for them. On my first IVF try they were only able to retrieve 3 eggs, and only implanted 2. I am now entering my 33rd week, and am due October 11. Don't give up hope. I had a lot going against me, but it still worked! Stay positive and be proactive. I let it go for years, because I thought it was normal. It's not. There are things that can be done to help you, and you can get pregnant through IVF. Good luck.
