Pink Spotting @ Week 5?

Post by amysbabies »

I just went to the bathroom and I had some discharge (sorry for the TMI) and it was pink, then I put in my progesterone suppository and I saw some pink on the applicator when I took it out. It's been about 2 hours since and I haven't had anymore spotting so far.

Has anyone else had this? This worries me because my 1st ended in a chemical so I'm always kind of nervous that it will happen again.....

Sorry, I know how worrying this can be. I miscarried too. I think that as long as you're not cramping and there's no bright red bleeding you should be fine. Maybe the progesterone is irritating your cervix and caused the pinkish discharge. Best wishes.

Hey Amy! I had the same thing happen this weekend. I'm chalking it up to implantation bleeding since mine was more brownish-red than pink. But this could definitely be what it was in your case, too!

Hi Amy
I don't know if this will put your mind at ease or not, but during my first IVF (which produced my DD), I had implantation spotting ~pink that eventually turned brownish after a few days, and then in my 8th or 9th week, I started bleeding bright red blood for 2 days. Not as heavy as a period, but close enough to scare the crap out of me. Went in to see the doc, all was well, and his answer was " a lot of women bleed during pregnancy for no apparent reason, and with no ill effects". Try not to get too nervous, just monitor it, and call your doc if it gets bright red. Good Luck!!

This is happening to me. I am 5 weeks. I had my ET on July 20th and on July 28th I started spotting. The doctor told me that as long as it is not flowing and I am not cramping I should be okay. I started with the progesterone suppository and the spotting pretty much stopped. The only thing I am dealing with now is the discharge from the progesterone suppository.

Not to worry ladies. This is a side effect of the suppositories in every single way. I had it too and freaked out and was told by the best doctor in the world that if you put them in too far it irritates the cervix and causes the pink tinge.
It's even more likely to happen if you have a lowered cervix due to giving birth or having a D&C after a miscarriage.
It can all be stopped by simply not going in as deep.
WOW! So many things to freak us out it's a wonder none of us are in the looney bin.....lol.
I hope I helped a little.
