Hey, It is me again! I just found some info that answers a lot of questions about our little growing embies. I thought I'd pass it along:

http://www.miracleswaiting.org/factsembryos.html#q22

There are a lot of common questions explaining the growing stages of embies and how they decide to do a 3 or 5 day transfer. After reading it, I am pretty convinced that I will have a 3 day transfer b/c I only have 7 embies growing.

I hope this info helps!

Antoak: the beta should be 14dpET...i've seen other people be a day ahead or behind givin the weekend, etc.
dcdiva: i think they base day 3 or 5 according to the growth of the embies..usually day 5s are done when they is a large cluster of embies growing really well and they think they'll make it 2 more days in the petrie dish. If there are only a few growing, they won't take the chance that they'll last by day 5, and feel that they have a better chance in momma's body, so its day 3. However, day 5 embies are more mature and thus considered better...But who knows...I've come to the realization its really all up to God or what higher being you believe in...not to offend anyone. Like me, I had only 4 fertilized, and 2 put in and 2 left to grow - that unfortunately didn't make it...hopefully the ones transferred will! Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone, I never heard from the lab  so I called myself. They were not very helpful at all. All the lab tech said was 7 fertilized and someone will call tomorrow. :? 7 out of 14 I guess thats better than 4 out of 7 last time. Hopefully they will all make it!!! I will update when i hear something. I hope all is well for everyone....

Elizabeth, thanks for the link. That helped clear it up as I only had 6 fertilized 1 day after ER so it looks like they play it safe. Good luck tomorrow! If I remember correctly all they told me I would have to do after ward is bed-rest for that day only and then take it easy for two weeks. No swimming, sex, exercise, etc. I am glad we are going into a weekend.

Hommy - Hang in there lady. I was also expected to be a high responder and started on a low dose and then they really increased the dosage and my response picked up dramatically in just a few days. I know it sucks but try and stay positive.

JHarris - Good luck tomorrow!

I didn't hear from my clinic today so I have no idea how my embies are doing. The nurse told me I am scheduled for ET at 9:15 and that I needed to be there at 8:15. Then she told me to call her at 8am to make sure I am still on for a 3 day transfer? I am fine with the 3 day. I think I would actually rather have them in me then leave it to chance that none reach blast.

Is anyone else on endometrim suppositories? I have been taking them 3 times a day. I can't really complain as I prefer them to having to take progesterone shots. I am also on 1 baby aspirin a day and antibiotics. They gave me vicodin the day of ER and boy did that stuff know me on my A$$. the anesthesia made me puke my guts out so I am going to ask them if I can just take vicodin and no sedation. Good luck everyone!!!

Hey everyone! Just got home from my ER this morning. They ended up retrieving 12 eggs. Much better than the 4 they retrieved last cycle. I kinda anxious to get the report tomorroe of how many were mature and fertilized considerig only one was mature lst cycle and didn't fertilize. Doing ISCI for all eggs. Not feeling to bad.

hi girlies,

NickyB: Congrats on the 12 eggs! That is a huge jump for you from last time. This means that you have so many more to fertilize and grow so that they have a great selection to choose from! I'm so happy for you and I'm happy that you are not feely too badly!

RN2005: Great news on 11 eggs! Double digits should make you feel really great! I can't wait to hear how they are doing. The shots are not too bad, provided that you numb the area before. I made my DH watch the instructional video again because the first few shots were really uncomfortable. But, now that he has his technique down, it has been much better. Unfortunately, Progesterone does constipate me, so that hasn't been fun! I can't imagine 10 weeks of this! DCDiva: You are soo lucky to have the suppositories vs. the injections!!! I also hear that some clinics are doing a progesterone ring study. That would be great if it works.

As for me, they called this am and decided to change our ET from today (day 3) to Sunday (day 5). I had a total of 7 growing and from yesterday, 2 started to become blasts, 2 are now 8-cell, 1- is 9 cell, 1- is 10 cell and one has not grown at all from yesterday and is 6-cell. My DH is beside himself b/c he really wanted to do a 3DET. He has convinced himself that it is better for them to be in my body than in a solution. I think this idea got into his mind after last cycle's failure with 2 perfect 5DET of blasts. I told him to call the clinic if he wanted to talk more about this or get further explanation, but he backed down. I hope we are doing the right thing in waiting.

I hate to admit this, but since we are going to have to do IVF/ICSI each time we want to have kids, we both would adore boy/girl twins. And, I have read that the boy embies tend to be faster to initially grow and divide than the girls do, so I am fine with waiting as I feel like we would have a better chance of possibly getting one of both to transfer?? Truly we would be over the moon if we had a singleton of either sex, but this would be an "ideal world" scenario!

Hope all of the transfers go well today! For those who had ER yesterday, keep us posted as to how your little embies are doing!

congrats rn and nicki

cant wait to hear updates tommorow

Elisabeth - i total agree with you about girl and boy twins - perfect! We also read that the boy embryos are further ahead which is why weve always thougt we will have a boy but who knows! i do worry about passing down the lack of sperm gene which is apparently genetic for boys. At this point i will take one baby of whatever sex jsut hopefully from the right egg and sperm. I actually worry that they will mix that up in the lab!!!

I am scheduled for a day 3 in the am but fear im on the same path as you. The nurse said that they may very well call us in the am and schedule a day 5. 6 are doing well like last time. I agree with your dh i want a day 3 but i guess we have to trust they know what they are doing. I have been reading that a lot of clinics freeze at day 3 why is ours at blast only? On a more personal note, I have some type of vaginal infection which is killing me and the nurse said i will have to wait till after transfer. Its from all the antibitoics so i forsee a trip to my regular ob next week. I swear if the baby can implant after strep and a vaginal infection, it will be a little superman :-)

Hi everyone, I have been reading the post and so much is going on!

elisabethski73- Good luck on your transfer tomorrow or Monday! I really don't like that word irregularity...couldn't they say that they aren't perfect but near perfect...we have enough to worry about! I hope they become perfect overnight. :) oh yeah, thanks for sharing that link. I read everything and learned so much!

anj- nice fert report! Can't wait to hear your updates.

dcdiva- is your transfer tomorrow? Sorry if I didn't quite understand. If so then major baby dust and blessings to you and your DH! I had a severe issue with anesthesia in the past and have learned that there is something they can give you to reduce a reaction. Unfortunelatly I don't know if they can do this for this procedure. I hope so, because the anesthesia really makes me sick.

kim14- Good luck on your transfer. Can't wait to hear your update tomorrow!

Venus- Have fun at your bbq. :) That sounds like a lot of fun, but just don't work too hard. :)

babyloves - Hope this wait is going smooth for you. Your posts sound positve so I hope that is how you are feeling. Can't wait for time to pass.

All the best to the rest with you. I am enjoying your posts!

As for me I am on my second day of Lupron, which to my suprise didn't hurt a bit. I could do that shot everyday compared to Menupur. Tomorrow I start stims...2 amps Menopur, and 300 Units Gonal F. I know how menopur feels, it stings like you know what. What should I expect from Gonal F?

I will be waiting to hear all your reports of BFPs when I am going in for ER, and some during ET. Thanks for all the updates. I am so excited for all of us!

Oh, one last thing...I have been experiencing severe headaches...I believe it is from the Lupron. How did you ladies deal with the headaches.

Hi gals, I'm so excited to see all the updates. I'm sorry to bring a damper to things, but we got the worst news possible today. Out of 12 eggs, 10 were mature and 0 fertilized using TESE sperm. I have been bracing myself for this possibility since we had a low fert rate last cycle, and using TESE sperm is a far from settled science - and the ones they found were all morphologically abnormal. So no ET for us this time. It's especially a downer since both DH and I are still in a lot of pain from our procedures - so all this work for nothing. I'm retaining water and look 5 mos pregnant and DH is still swollen and very uncomfortable. We have to talk to our RE and discuss our next steps. I'll be checking in on you all and wish you all great luck.

I got the call from the lab today, they actually called!!! She said that 6 were moving right along. I had 2-2cell, 1-3cell, 2-4cell, and 1-6cell. She said that the 6 cell was advanced for this amount of time, I'm not sure if that is good or bad :? . I go in tomorrow afternoon for ET. I guess we will see how many that are put back then. Baby wishes to all!!
