My first BFP ever!!!

Post by 4fanops »

I am 8dp4dt and I just got my first FAINT positive on a HPT. I have been peeing on the dollar store brands for the last 3 day and all -ves. I am trying not to get my hopes up too much. I am hoping that it is not a false positive.

Congratulations.

The FET method you used is pretty reliable, regardless of slow embryos.

This morning I got another faint pink line. It took 2 minutes to appear. Is that okay that the line less than 24 hours later is still faint? I was expecting to take the test and have a darker line. The test says that the result window is 1-3 minutes, and anything after 10 minutes is invalid. My lines appeared within correct timeframe...I am wondering if I tested too soon after the ones last night? Maybe I will give it another day. Shouldn't I have a definate Positivte by 9dp3dt?

From one day to the next, your hCG level should rise about 50% or so. For these qualitative tests, that is not all that much difference, and you are still close to what they can detect at all. Keep in mind, these tests were invented for natural pregnancies, where women don't test until their period is days late, and by then their hCG is several times what yours is now.

Also, in FET cycles like yours, the hCG often rises a little more slowly than in fresh cycles. Might be embryos slowed by freezing, might be a more tolerant endometrium (no stimulation). Sometimes we don't get the first positive in a serum test until where you were yesterday, and that is often too low to expect to see on an HPT.

It means that I am 8 days past a 4 day transfer. Therefor I had my transfer 8 days ago and they transfered 4 day old embryos.

Update...I took 2 digital tests today and they both said "pregnant". I am so excited. That must mean that my hcg levels are rising if they can now be detected digitally!

Congrats again.

You're doing fine. These HPTs are hard to interpret quantitatively, and some drive themselves crazy trying to interpret them this early. Like I said, the method you used is pretty reliable.

I see we both answered tortillachip's question at the same time.

I might be away from the board for the next 4 days. Maybe. Depends on whether the wife brings her laptop on this little vacation. She's leaning against it.

Ghost I am going to upset some people by saying this...You should leave your laptop at home and enjoy your vacation. Your information is so valuable to all of us and you deserve a mini vacation. I am sure that we will all survive without you for four days!!!
