Good afternoon ladies,

We just got in from my DD (8 y.o.) softball party. They all swam and got there trophys. They were excited. I was feeling a little dizzy headed this morning and the only thing I can think of is I started BCP last night. i am feeling much better now.

valerie - Thanks for looking at my numbers. We will be really close to each other in our cycles. I am suppose to stop BCP on the 6th. Then i guess i'll start my inj. I go to the doctor on Wednesday, so i guess he will tell me then what is next. I know what you mean about not worrying with every little detail. It is driving me crazy already and I am just starting(LOL).

jharris - Good news on your ET. Praying for you. Praying this will be your month and I will be looking for your good news =)

kas101 - We will be really close to the same schedule also. How many weeks did you do your BCP? I will only do mine for 13 days, does that seem about right. I know we all have different protacols(sp?) Wishes you the best!!

Hope everyone else is doing well. I know we are all about the same in our cycle within about 3 - 4 weeks of eachother. Know that I am praying for all of you!! I go to the doctor on wednesday for several appt's:
9:00 - inj. class, 10:45 - mock transfer, 11:30 meet with finanical adv., 3:00 meet with nurse educator. Busy, busy day!! But I will be much more educated -hopefully! Hope you ladies have a great weekend!!

Thanks Muggsey24 Its good to hear your cycle is close to mine....

I started taking bcp on 16th July and stop on 4th August making it 20 days. Then i've been told i will start injections on 10th ???

I guess i will find out more at my next visit which is also on Wednesday. I'm doing the mock transfer and getting shown how to do the injections which i cant wait for as then i think it will feel like it's really happening . . .

Welcome Kas101~ It is scary in the beginning when you're not familiar with what is going to happen. Ask your doctor plenty of questions and do the same with us. Somebody on the thread will have an answer.
We all have a signature and if you wish to do the same, look under 'profile' and you will see a space where you can add any info that you'd like. It makes it easy for the rest of us to kind of remember details about you.
As you see in my signature, you will start stims( injections ) around the same time as me and other ladies. It will be great. :D

Hey valerie68 tried to update the signature - guess its all a big learning experience and hope i can catch up on all the terminology and details of the process soon. In my ivf welcome pack from my center there is so much information to take in and flyers for different medications but it looks like i will be on Lupron, Menapur, Bravelle and Endometrin.

What, when and how much is the mystery !!! but im sure all will be revealed in time..... I'm also in South FL (Boca) so it till be interesting to see if our protocols are the same compared to others in different states/countries....

valerie68 - When you did your last IVF how many eggs did you get from one ovary? I noticed that your sign. said one ovary shy of a pair and was just wondering? How did your AP go this morning? I do not have anyone around where i live doing AP but I thought about doing massage just for relaxing. A good friend of mine does this so I thought about giving her a call. What type protocal were you on this cycle? My nurse said that since I one have one ovary they didnt want to surpress me to much so that is the reason they are doing BCP instead of Lupron. Praying it works this cycle because DH said once and that is it. We both are praying for mature eggs and a BFP!! Thanks again for all your help. It helps so much to have such an awesome group of ladies that you can go to for answers to your questions and for support!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! It's so nice that we've grown so much. The last few days were rough for me....but I am still in cycle and have not been cancelled yet. I went for u/s again this morning and the one follie was still at 14, but one other one went up to 11, and I have 3 under 10. So I will continue with the meds and pray to God that the others grow! Again, only one ovary is functioning at all - the side that doesn't work is the side I had the ectopic pregnancy on, and I'm suspicious that the problem originated then.

I just want to thank you guys so much for your kind and encouraging words to me...especially Valerie, Karen, SueKiwi, Jharris and Hoping. Honestly, it meant so much to me.

I want to get back on track now and get my head back!

Well I went to my appt today and of course i saw some follicles on the screen. I am not sure how many i had but RE didnt say anything which i guess is good? I was given a Rx for Ganirelix but was told to wait for a call to see how were my E2 levels. Nurse called but told me to continue doing the 600 units of Follistim. When did you guys take Ganirelix? Is it too early for me?

JDC- hoping those follies grow over the next few days. When is your next U/S?

Kas101-Welcome :)

Jharris-hope bedrest is going well and that DH is pampering you.

Babyloves-how is your 2WW?

Well I am officially PUPO and on bedrest but just for today. I have to limit activity tomorrow and Monday. We transferred 3 8cell embies. The RE said they looked perfect. They were grade I which is the best in my clinic. I am excited and really feel good about it.
Thank you all for all your support. You all have really helped make this experience alot easier.
Well off to rest!
Enjoy your weekend.

muggsey~ I had three follicles on my first cycle. They retrieved 2 eggs out of the 3 and both fertilized and made it blast. I was so happy but ended up with a chemical. That's why I think it will work all the way this time.
I'm expecting around 5 or 6, that would be really good.
I'm only doing bcp as well without lupron and 225IU of Bravelle + 75IU of menopur twice a day. You seem to be able to get pregnant easily, so I think you have a great chance for a BFP! :D
AP was really good, I'm getting better and better at meditation.

JDC~ I feel relieved for you! Just count on one ovary, just like I have. So I think that you have quite a bit of follies, they're going to keep on growing well and you will have enough. Not as much as you anticipated but enough to get your BFP. Don't let your mind play dirty tricks on you.

kas101~Doing the same drugs like you as you can read above, minus the Lupron. I'm also on endometrin and it's no problem. For me they don't leak much, stay in place and it takes about 7hrs for them to start coming out. So much better than the PIO ( progesterone in oil ) as they were extremely painful for me...to the point where I could hardly sit down and had trouble walking. But some women hate the suppositories.
Protocols vary from clinic to clinic and patient to patient as we have different needs.

hoping~ 3 perfect 8 cell embies, that's just fantastic! Take it easy and let those little ones burrow into their new homes. Congrats!
PUPO and the 2ww on the way.

Rosario~ I took the Ganirelix once a day for 4 days prior to trigger so it sounds like you might be ready for it.

Have a great evening.

sad news for me

Post by JJJAKE »

Hi everybody, I am sooooo upset! I went to my re on the 25th to recieve bw/us and to start my stim. meds and they found a cyst on my left ovary  It's large and they are not sure why and when it began. They are thinking it may be my estrogen levels I don't know. I was lying on the table excited but nervous, ready to begin, closer to my ER. the nurse comes in makes a sigh.....calls in another nurse. "you see where her left ovary should be there's a large cyst" she says. Then they send for a doc and it was confirmed!!!!! WTF......they have placed me back on BC and i will have to wait 2wks before I go back and see if it has gotten smaller on it's own. Lord Have Mercy.......

Hi! First time post from a newcomer!

Post by hoping4amiracle »

Hello everyone! I am just starting my first IVF cycle. I am waiting on my meds to arrive from the pharmacy! I have been on BC for a few months to control my endo. My RE has me taking BC with Lupron for 7 days and then stopping the BC and taking the Lupron for 3 more days. Hopefully I will start on 7/29. I am the type of person who works hard to achieve my goals, and it's hard knowing that I can't do much to make this work, except pray and be positive. I have stared at the calendar for hours, trying to anticipate when things will happen. A friend of mine has had 3 failed IVF attempts, and her biggest piece of advice was to join a group where you can talk to others, don't try to do it alone, so here I am!

JDC~I am so happy to hear you are still on track and not cancelled! I am hoping for your smaller follies to catch up soon. I think you will have a respectable amount of eggs--enough to get you a BFP! Remember that both Karen and Val got BFP with only 2 eggs last round. that is an inspiration to me as my body produces minimal eggs so each one is so precious. Stay positive and visualize your eggs growing healthy and strong.

JJake~That is awful news about the surprise cyst! Good grief. All the waiting is hard enough without an extra 2 weeks! I hope the BCPs shrink the thing down in the next two weeks and you will be back on track.

JHarris and Hoping~Congrats on being PUPO! sound like the both on you have produced some mighty-fine embies! Take it easy and imagine your healthy babies growing inside of you.

Welcome to Kas and hoping4miracle mugsey and Rosario and the other newbies. Please feel free to ask questions--I know the process feels so overwhelming. I am in New Zealand so my protocol/drugs are quite different--but i promise there will be ladies on the board who know exaclty what you are talking about.

You will be fine--take one step at a time and just focus on what you need to do next. I find I get too crazy with worry when I think too far ahead--one hurdle at a time. And dont worry--the shots are not as bad as they look! I remember my first time I burst into tears when they handed me my drugs after the injection class. This time I am excited to get those drugs--I know they are the way to a BFP.

Mz Tia and Karen~I will bringing up the rear with you all! I am waiting for AF now--but still need to wait for another AF after that and then start taking BFPs. It still seems like ages away! I probably should be on a later board--but I am much too attached to you all to switch now! It's like Val said--I really feel it when somebody here has a good day or a bad day--I am pulling for you all and hoping for our BFPs.

Welcome hoping4amiracle! I agree with Sueqiwi that the best thing you can do is to focus on one thing at a time otherwise it's overwhelming. I did that the first time and it helped me. The shots are not bad at all and this is coming from a recovering needle phobic
We'll be more than happy to help you along with your journey and I promise you it's a roller coaster, so hang on tight and let's go for a crazy ride.

JJJake~ I'm so sorry they found a cyst. I understand your frustration so well as we want that BFP yesterday!!! I really hope that the BCP will shrink it and that you'll be on your way. Good luck, you're in my thoughts.

For all our newbies: All these abbreviations in the beginning drove me nuts, like a totally new language. But you can find the meaning to all those on the general forum and it's the second sticky post. The last pages have a lot of them. That will help a lot.

jharris~ I saw on the other thread that you're already going crazy. There is no way on earth I would stay in bed for 3 days straight and I'm not sure how you mange to do that. Tomorrow, DH will let you out!

I had a busy weekend. I'm planning as if the baby(ies) are coming and I'm reorganizing the house and doing major cleanup of closets and making space. I worked in the garden the whole day and told DH that in 3 weeks I won't be able to do any of this. I don't think I can't have any more PMA to help me along.

SueQiwi~ A lot of patience still required for you. I'm glad you're staying with us as I will stay with all of you until we all get our BFPs.

I hope the other ladies are doing well and the board has been so quiet today. That means everybody is having a good time.

Talk to you later...

Hello ladies! Hope you have all had a great weekend! Mine is driving me crazy! My Re says that we should be on bedrest for 3 days after ET, and my DH has made sure I stick to it! He has at least let me get up and lie on the couch today instead, but he still won't let me up! I am so ready for tomorrow so I can get up and move around, even if it is back to work. :?

valerie: Bed rest has been hard. But the DH just wants to make sure I do as the RE suggested. Sounds like you have had a very therapeutic weekend yourself!

SueQiwi: Thank you! I know what you mean about not wanting to join another group and leave this one! I got too attached to you ladies even though I got started earlier!

hoping4amiracle: Welcome to the group! Have you gotten your meds yet? Jus tdon't let it overwhelm you when they show up, there will be a lot to go through. If you have any questions at all, this group can help you out!

JJAKE: I'm so sorry to hear about that cyst. Try not to let it get you down too much. Hopefully it will only be a 2 week delay, and you can get this thing started.

hopingnpa: Sounds like we had similar transfers! Lucky you getting only 1 day bed rest! Now only 2 weeks to wait to get our BFPs!! :D

Rosario: I used Ganirelix after being on stims for about 6 days (?).

JDC: Glad to hear you are still in the game! I am so glad that those follies are growing. When do you go back in? You sound like you are getting back on track already, so hopefully your head can too!

Kas: Welcome to the group. You have definitely come to the right place to get some answers. This is a great group of women that are so helpful. Best of luck to you.

To everyone else, hope you are all keeping up the PMA, and having a wonderful weekend!

Hey guys hope everyone is doing well. As for me i am no longer in so much pain. Actually I am still a little tender just when i am on my feet a lot. Sorry if TMI but i did get to have IC and it wasnt as bad as i thought. Thank god. I was so scared because i was so swollen and all.

Anyways I have a question for you guys. Well AF showed up last Tuesday and by the time i went to my u/s yesterday, i was just spotting like a little brown here and there. Well after my u/s I noticed i was feeling a little weird. I went to the bathroom and i noticed i was bleeding and even had clots ( sorry tmi). Did any of you guys happen to go through the same? I went and laid on my couch and it stopped. Is this normal?
