Has anyone rented one of these? If so, when was the week time frame you heard the heartbeat?
I've been really considering ordering (renting) one of these when I leave the RE, since my u/s will be few and far between. All the websites say some can hear as soon as 8 weeks, but definatley by 12 weeks. I think my last RE u/s is at 10 weeks so I was hoping maybe I could hear them by then?
Hey Dakota~ I never rented one so can't really help you on this one. My OB told me it would be hard to hear and determine both hb's and that itmay be more stressful to try with twins than to just keep the faith. I followed his advice and was just tickled at week 20 when teh babies started cruising around non-stop. Just one mommies perspective.
Tell us how it goes if you get one. Good luck!

I didn't rent one just because I was afraid if I wasn't able to find the hb I would panic....but it would have been nice to hear the hb anytime I wanted. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of thing!
i rented one with my current pregnancy and my last pregnancy. babybeat.com it works better than the one that my ob has - a lot less static. i heard the hb with my rented doppler at 12 weeks.

I work where there's a doppler available to use and first heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks, but it took a while to find. Now at almost 16 weeks it can still take a minute to find it but its much easier. I'd go insane if I I couldn't hear the heartbeat once a week. (I limit it to once a week. takes some self discipline lol)

My hubby actually bought me one as a mothers day gift. This is my first child and I was able to hear her heartbeat after 12 wks. Before that we heard it via the ultrasound. It was hard at first and very low on my belly but it was very clear and distinct.
I don't use it that much but when I'm worried I listen just to make sure she's doing ok. I was afraid of OVER using it so I use it just to ease my mind. Also.. the HB readout on mine isn't always acurate. But the sound quality is clear you just can't go off the heartbeats per minute thing.
Hope this helps!
