booster shot

I had my ET on July 22 and so far hormones are looking good. The nurse called friday and said if I am not bloated on sunday to take a booster shot. Well, i am a little bit bloated but not sure if i am as bloated as yesterday afternoon. I just don't know what to do because if i need the shot I want to take it but what if I don't and I take it? Ugh, I am really mad at my doc for putting this in my lap!!! Any opinions?

I too had a booster shot of 2500 iu HCG about 1 week past transfer. But the decision was entirely my doc's . My levels were good even before the booster the shot, estrodiol levels were above 1600 and progesterone above 25. I had no bloating at all . My advice is arrange for a talk with ur doc and let ur doc decide. Taking a booster is no harm, only it may spoil ur immediate POAS plans if any, becoz u need to wait atleast 3-5 days after ur booster shot of 2500 IU to leave ur system. GL !

Well, I just talked to my doc and he told me that the nurse got the message wrong!!!

He said not to worry about taking the shot and that we'll see how my levels are tomorrow. The booster (after ET) pretty much keeps your hormones up for implantation. The booster isn't to support pregnancy so much as to support implantation. That is what he said anyway. Hopefully I got it right!

Thats right. HCG has many roles, one is also to promote secretion of progesterone by ovaries after ovulation. It aids progesterone levels which helps with luteal phase for implantation.
