Hi ladies, just popping in to give a quick update as I am heading to bed. We did the ET this morning. I had two well developed blasts (5 day transfer) and the procedure was pretty quick. The other four embies are in the beginning stage of blast so they told me to call on Tuesday to see if they were going to freeze them. The clinic gave me a picture of the two blasts that were to be transferred, the lid to the dish they were in and an ultrasound photo of my uterus after the transfer and you could see where they were deposited. I thought that was really nice. I remember telling you guys I wanted to go visit them in the lab, but at least this way I know what they looked like. Hopefully I will be able to show my kids on day and say there you are LOL.

Elizabeth, I am scheduled to have a 12 day beta so I am happy about that. That puts me at 8/8/08. Good luck with your ET tomorrow. I know you are anxious to get the show on the road.

I can't believe some of you have bed-rest for 3 days. My doc looked at me like i was crazy when I asked him how much bed rest. He was like none, just take it easy. There are a list of things I can't do like have sex, take a bath, etc. Other than that it has been business as usual.

rn - im also bloated - have been since my er on wed. Last time i was bloated for a couple of weeks. Cant really do much for it. doc never has any ideas except heat which doesnt help much.

I am soo pissed right now - they just moved my day 5 to a day 6 - said they were not quite ready yet!!!!! Same thing as elisabeth - same clinic - so i have to say i was a little prepared but it just stinks. I was ready to leave the house for et again and they canceled - not to mention our work schedules. I havent been to work since wed. My husband is so mad he wants to switch clinics. Any recommendations in northern va?? I am terrified they wont be ready tommorow either or they will have died.

oh Kim! How stressful!!! As if we don't have enough to worry and stress about...and now this! I am totally not going to tell you to "not worry" since that is one of my pet peeves and we know that is easier said than done. Have you told the Dr what your concerns are? I am sure they can give you some sort of an idea what they are thinking and why they are making the decisions they are. Maybe if they knew what your fears are they could put your mind at ease. Everytime I hesitate to call them thinking I am just going to "bug" them, I remember how much money we are putting into this! You deserve to have your answers and be able to feel that you can call whenever you need to! Also, I am sure they would have told you they were concerned if they actually were! I am sure they just needed another day and everything will turn out great! Dont let yourself think negatively....it is totally out of your hands now so try to take it one minute at a time. I have a good feeling for you...Please keep us updated!

Hey everyone. Just got back from ET. Transferred two eggs-a 8cell and a 5 cell. The third one that had fertilized didn't divide. The procedure kinda hurt as RE had to stabilize my cervix and there was a obstruction blocking access to uterus. However, RE was able to transfer and so begins the wait. Beta scheduled for 8/8.

Good luck to all of you that are tarnsferring either today or tomorrow. :D

Off to bed as I am sore and emotionally drained.

Hi Nicky! Congrats! How exciting for you! Thanks for the heads up...my ET is tomorrow. I am still recovering from ER in that I am so uncomfortable and bloated I was hoping ET would be a breeze! Get some rest!

Hi all,
I was totally bloated for awhile also ladies...still am, but it has gone down considerably.
kim - hang in there. get through this cycle and then maybe you won't have to search for a new clinic :)
nicky- my et took a little longer than usual. (not that it took more than ten minutes, but they were having difficulty finding my uterine opening.) good thing for both of us...the embies are there and now we wait :)

question: is anyone on the prog. vag. caps? just wondering if you are experiencing any vag. irritation. I have to insert them 4 times a day. wishing you all well.

HI ladies,

Well, our embies are finally with me! They transferred 2 blastocysts one grade AA the other BB, for a day 6 transfer. Believe me, my DH and I feel Kim's anger, frustruation and anxiety over the constant postponing of the procedure! The MD told me that he now gives us a 50% chance for success based upon the fact that our blastocysts were very slow to develop, making him feel like they were not as strong as the ones he transferred last time.

antoak: I wish I was on the capsules, nope, I have the nightly shots!

rn2005: Good luck tomorrow on the ET! Try to breathe slowly and relax if you can. Mine was really uncomfortable, so this helped, but so did squeezing all of the blood out of my DH's thumb!

Nicky: Yeah! I'm so happy your ET has happened! When do you get to test?

DCdiva: Congrats on also having 2 blasts transferred! I'm envious that you have the beta so soon! Mine is 3 days after yours. Good luck! That is great that you got to take a photo with you. I had this the first time and asked for one this time too, but they forgot to give it to us, so I am hoping that it is in our chart!

Well ladies, I'm off to rest! Take Care and lots of Baby Vibes to you all!

Hello ladies, I am new to this message board so I hope folks respond. I am in Raleigh and had my ET on the 25th. I have the pictures and I thought that was cool but again this is my first time. I am on day 235 (ok it just feels like that), seriously I started my progesterone shots almost a week ago. Long story short, they are excruciating and I had read several thoughts on procedure but most folks seem to think it is a walk in the park. Any suggestions? Thanks for all who respond...slm

Good afternoon ladies!! Hope you are having a good Monday. Seems like we have so much going on, it's hard to keep up lately!

venus: I can't believe your beta is Friday already! I can't wait for you and babyloves to get your results! That's so cute that you named them. I did last time, but not this time. I'm sure your little embies are good and snuggled in! I can't believe you aren't icing before PIO! I'm a wimp!

ngdo: Can't wait to hear how ER went for you!!

dcdiva: Congrats on ET!! 2 blasts sounds great! Your beta is the same day as mine! And I had ET Friday! Of course mine was a 3day tranfer though. Welcome to the 2ww!!

kim: Sounds like everyone's transfers are getting juggled. I'm sure if your RE is confident they can make it another day, they will be just fine! I know it has to be frustrating. Just know that they will be back with you tomorrow!

nicky: Congrats on ET!! I had no idea ET could be painful. I guess I'm like Kim with a normal uterus. You hagve to rest anyway, so I'm sure you will be feeling better quickly!

rn2005: Can't wait to hear about your ET tomorrow!

antoak: I took a prometrium tablet before transfer, but I'm on PIO shots. I hear they both have good and bad sides!

elisabeth: Woo Hoo!! I'm so glad to hear you finally got to ET! I know you had to be so frustrated, but it's all going to be worth it now that those 2 little embies are back and getting all snuggled in! Get plenty of rest!

slm: Welcome to the boards. Raleigh as in NC? If so, which clinic? I also had ET on the 25th, and yes, it kinda does feel like day 235! I've stayed pretty busy at work today, so it hasn't felt so bad. About the PIO shots, they seem to be worse for me this cycle. It's thicker than last time. I make sure to ice the spot on my hip for about 10 minutes before the shot, DH puts the needle in really quick, and pushes the medicine in slowly, and then massage it afterwards. I've been sore in the mornings, but nothing excruciating. Hope that helps.

To everyone else, hope you are having a great day! I better check in more often to stay caught up! As for me, I'm feeling pretty good. For some reason I feel a little different this cycle after ET. I've had a couple little cramps that I didn't have 1st cycle. Other than that, just staying busy to make it until 8/8!! :D Talk to ya later girls!

Jharris12, thanks so much for the reply. I am going to try those tips tonight. I think taking the shot too close to bed time and not allowing it to circulate, etc. is contributing to the pain. I am out of Raleigh, NC and I am going to the Women's Hospital at UNC (ART).

I think I am in need of an acronym dictionary. Please forgive my ignorance but can someone give me a download? I figured out Beta mmust be when you find out if you are pregnant. Mine is 8/5. DH = Distraught Husband (LOL), what is the difference between an AA and a BB embryo or is the PC term to say blastocysts? The only thing the Dr.'s said was that they were beautiful and the ET was smoot with no blood or embryo feedback. I am usually pretty detail oriented as is my hubby but it seems like I haven't asked enough....

slm: Congrats on the ET! Mine was in Cary at NCCRM, so we weren't far! If you go to the main forum page, then go to the general section, there is a "sticky" there that lists a lot of the abbreviations and stuff. DH is darling/dear husband, but I kinda like the distraught version! Beta is the pregnancy test. That's what the RE's call it! Oh, RE is your doctor. My office didn't use the AA, BB scale. I think all offices grade the embryos different. Mine were grade 4, 3+, and 3, with 4 being the best. Just know that it's hard to know everything to ask. There are plenty of us here that can help you out if you need it. Good luck!

Congrats to all of you Nickyb73, RN2005, dcdiva, Kim14, antoak, elisabethski, stm, Venus, babyloves and Jharris...I am so excited to hear your BFPs!!!! Sorry if I missed anyone!

ndgo82- it looks like you are getting close to retrieval. I think you may have had that done today right? Hope you are feeling good. Keep us posted on your fert report.

antoak- I will be taking the pro caps instead of the shot. I was told that the shot hurts and I decided that after this I just wouldn't be up to another painful shot everyday for the first trimester. Instead I will insert 3 caps a day. The biggest downfall is that they are messy. I thought I could live with that instead of having to deal with a shot. So far the only shot that causes me some grief is the menopur, but I hear the pro shot is just as bad. No thank you!

As for me I will go in on the 30th for my US and BW, and go from there. I can't wait to hear how many follicles are growing. I feel real good right now, no headaches, and I am not as emotional as I thought I might be. I am pretty sure that this forum has helped a lot! I feel like we can all understand what the others are going through. It really helps to keep you all updated and hear your updates. Thank goodness for this forum.

Take care and I will talk with you all real soon.

Elizabeth
