Question for Ghost on Estrace (and others!)

Hi:
I am having my FET on Wed. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. We have changed my protocol slighlty, but was wondering what your clinic (or your reccomendation) on the amount of Estrace to take after the FET. My RE has me on Estrace 2mg once per day.

Ladies, any of you doing a FET? If so, what is your protocol with the Estrace.

the protocol for my FET started as 3x 2mg tablets a day, and then was bumped up to 4x 2mg tablets a day.
only 1 tablet a day doesn't sound like enough, did they give you a reason for such a low dose? What dose were you on on your last FET?

Both this time and last, I've been on 2mg twice a day. However, this time, they'll be checking my hormone levels every other day, so that may change.

Leading up to FET, I was on one pill for for a few days, then two pills for a few days, then 4 pills for a few day, and now right before transfer and through the 2ww I am only on 1.

What are you all on after transfer??

once i was on the 4 tablets a day, that was what i was told to stay on.
If you take away hormone support that your body was responding to, you can end up with big problems (this is going off of what my fertility nurse told me). I would really be asking them for the reasons that they are risking this with you?

We use more than that. Usually pills plus patches. The dose varies, and we adjust it based on serum levels.

With FET's we use IM delestrogen usually 0.6ml-0.8ml, but if we were to do pills it would be Estrace 2mg tabs 2 x day.

We have 4 frosties from this cycle - 1 from day 6 and 3 from day 7. I have some questions about fet. Still need progesterone shots? Do you do as much monitoring as a fresh cycle. How many did you transfer? Ive been told day 7 blasts arent as good so I would like to do more than 2.

You will need progesterone from some source. Typically it is provided by shots, suppositories, or gels. A few doctors rely on pills. Another option is natural cycle FET, in which they use your corpus luteum to provide the progesterone as it would in a natural pregnancy.

There is no ultrasound monitoring of the follicular phase (there is no ovarian stimulation), and fewer blood tests. The pregnancy would be monitored as any other IVF pregnancy.

The number to transfer is similar to that for a fresh cycle, although many clinic might transfer more in an FET because the implantation rates are lower for FET at most clinics.

The most common number to transfer is two, but your clinic might consider the day 7s less than ideal and that might justify transferring three. Up to you and them.
