Hi Girls,

I have just spent ages catching up on all the posts - can't believe I have missed so much!!

Rosario - sorry can't help with the question you asked as have never experienced it. I would phone up and ask if it is worrying you, even if the bleed has stopped. Am sure it is isn't anything to worry about but it will put your mind at rest to hear someone say that.

JHarris - well done you on sticking out 3 days bed rest...I would have gone mad!! But I agree with DH to do what the RE says, you would only have regrets otherwise and think 'what if'. I am sure the embies have snuggled in and it is just a waiting game now until your BFP x

Valerie - good on you on doing a clean up! Sounds like it was theraputic tho, I always find a good clear out helps me to clear out my mind as well!

JDC - keep the faith! Like the others said it only takes one and you have more than that now! Over here in the UK once a follie gets to 18mm or bigger then they trigger, so you haven't got much further to go. Am keeping everything crossed for you - it will be ok

JJake - so sorry to hear about the cyst, I think I have heard of lots of women getting them and their cycles being delayed. Better to deal with it now than later on closer to EC. I know 2 wks sounds like forever, but it will go quickly and I do believe things happen for a reason....you don;t want a cyst while you're preggers!!!

Hoping - welcome! The best thing I ever did was join this board - these people are fantastic and understand exactly what we are going through. No question is ever too stupid to ask, so ask away whenever you need. Try not to stress too much about what will or won't happen - that was my mistake on my first IVF. I am a bit of a control freak and like to know what and when everything will happen and that isn't possible with IVF, once I learnt to let go and not try and control it things became easier. Good luck with tmt

Hopinginpa - sounds like you had fab embies put back - bring on that BFP!

Muggsey - welcome. Hope everything is going ok? I wouldn't stress too much about DH saying only once for IVF, he may well change his mind. However you won't need more than one try and this one is going to work x

Kas101 - welcome aboard! The mystery of IVF isn't really a mystery more like a rollarcoaster ride!! All will be revealed soon enough and it isn't that bad, the waiting itself is the hardest bit!

SueQiwi - hope you are ok?

Hope anyone else I have missed is doing ok and had a good weekend?

As for me I had a pretty hectic weekend - we had my stepdaughter since last Thursday and she is like a little whirlwind!! She needs constant entertaining (she lives with her mum in London and has all the video/tv games etc and doesn't know how to entertain herself!!) and as she is a real girlie girl she doesn't want daddy she wants me! Don't get me wrong I love her to bits and we have a great time together - I am just knackered afterwards!!

I go back to my consultant to pick up my drugs on Wednesday of next week and then start injections on Thursday!! Can't believe how quickly it is all happening! I've just spoken to the woman who has organised everything for me and we are now just sorting out the AP for when I am in Sweden - the nurse apparentlt does it. So I am going to speak to my AP and find out how often she would like me to have AP - I think ideally it would be one hour before ET and one hour afterwards.

Anyway, I am now going to make the most of the english sunshine and go and chill in the garden - I'm sure it is not going to last much longer!!

Catch you guys later!!

Just a quick post for an update on my situation. I'd love to do personals, but I just don't have the time right now, but I am following everyone's progress! Anyway, went for u/s again today....my lead follicle is 16 and I have one at 13 and one at 11. The sucky part is that the lead is so far ahead of the other 2. But...they are going to see how it goes. I go back agaain tomorrow for u/s. The RE said the only have about 2 days to work with because the lead follicle being the size it is. Thank you again for all of the encouragement!

Welcome to all newbies, you'll love it here.

As for me, I'm starting Puregon 350iu tonight. Cant wait to feel bloated  Had b/w and u/s done this morning, they saw 18 follies. Hopefully they will all grow. As some of you said, one step at a time so for now my motto is: grow follies grow!!!

Good afternoon everyone! Hope your Monday is going smoothly. I figured I would go ahead and try to catch up now. Seems I've been falling behind lately!

Rosario: I'm so glad you aren't feeling much pain now. My last cycle when I started on BCP's, it seemed like I spotted throughout the whole cycle, and it was brown. Brown is old blood, and the dr never seems concerned. If it does worry you though, I would ask your RE.

kate21: Sounds like things are moving right along in your schedule! Injections on Thursday! Only a few days away! Hope you enjoyed your English sunshine! And yes, I was going crazy! But I know it was for a great cause.

JDC: I can't imagine how frustrating this cycle has to be for you. Good luck tomorrow. I will be praying for you.

baby_crazy: It's good to hear from you! Congrats on starting tonight! I'm sure those follies will be ready and willing once the meds begin! Best of luck!

To everyone else, you have all been kinda quiet today! Hope all is well! As for me, back to work today after my 3 days bed rest after ET. I was so glad to get up and move around this morning! And they have had me busy today, so they day is going quickly. I'm feeling a little different this cycle after ET. I've had a few cramps this time. Nothing major, just annoying. And I just feel more confident this time. Now I just have to wait until next Friday to get my test! Don't you just love waiting?! Enjoy your day!!

starting IVF #3

Post by AmandaM »

Hi Everyone

My hubby and I will be starting our 3rd IVF cycle on 7/30( lupron). My egg retrieval will be Aug 28 and beta tests in Aug. Will anyone else being getting their's done around that time?

I am trying not to get too excited because the doctor is only giving us a 30% chance of it wokring. I produce a lot of eggs but after they fertilize there is a lot of uneven cells and fragmenation. Has anyone else had an issue with this?

Best of luck to everyone

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post, MzTia, valerie68, karenvancouverisland, jharris12, JDC, SueQiwi, and anyone else I’m missing.

Welcome JJAKE, Rosario (I remember you from the June/July thread), ohbabybaby, jenolina, Kas101, hoping4amiracle, AmandaM, and anyone else I missed.

Valerie, I’m glad you sorted out your feelings towards your cousin, I’m sure you’ll be joining her with a BFP soon.

Jharris12, congratulations on your embies and your transfer.

Babyloves, I agree with what Valerie68 said, just try to stay calm and positive and not read too much into your symptoms.

Karenvancouverisland, you’ve been through so much. Describing your reaction to your work function as an allergic reaction seems so accurate to me. I was at a wedding recently and there was a newborn and so many other little kids there that I almost broke down crying hysterically. I’m glad you can come onto this board and vent, and that you get to go on a vacation, hopefully that will help.

JDC, I’m glad you’re still hanging in there with your follies.

Hopinginpa, congratulations on being PUPO.

JJAKE, I’m so sorry about your cyst. Hang in there.

Kate61, glad everything is set and organized for your trip.

As for myself, I’m feeling a little bit better about everything. I did have some moments over the past week where I felt really down again, at the wedding I talked about above there was a girl I used to work with who was there. I haven’t seen her in about 5 years, she moved out of state. She has a little girl and is pregnant again. We got married the same summer and had a double wedding shower, so that was a bit hard to take.

But I feel like I’m moving forward. I started my Lupron injections yesterday, I’ll stay on BCP through Thursday and than wait for AF. Than I go in for a down regulation check and if all is well, start taking these Estrace pills and the Lupron. Hopefully everything works out for my planned transfer on August 21.

Hello girls...the board has been super quiet today, what's going on?

JDC~ Hang in there...I think about you a lot and hope that you get 3 follies at least. The smaller ones are trying to catch up, the lead one has not grown as fast it seems. Tough, frustrating situation but they will be good quality.

babycrazy~ Congrats on starting tonight! Grow follies, grow.!
Wishing you lots of beautiful follies.

kate21~ You're almost there and a great trip to go with it :D sounds like our thread is moving faster and faster with more girls joining the party soon!

Welcome Amanda~ Wishing you the best on starting stims. More girls will be close to you. I stop BCP on Aug 2 and start stims on the 7th but I don't do Lupron so ER will be more around the 20th. 35% is about what I have to deal with because of my age, but I'm going to prove them wrong with a BFP, so will you

Rosario~ How are you feeling? Sorry I can't help you with the clotting problem as I have not had any since my surgery. If nothing show on the US, I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe a reaction to the meds.

jharris~ Soon only ten more days. Your beta is the same day as the start of the olympics...I hope you get to start your baby olympics, but that lasts 40 weeks instead of 2. Anyways, cramping is good, it's usually a good sign. One thing we all learn during IVF is to wait, not necessarily to be patient, but to wait and wait some more. Keep yourself busy and stay relaxed. Are you going to POAS?

babyloves~ How are you feeling? You are closer to a BFP than any of us...come on girl and start the lucky thread!!! :D

hopingpa~ How about you? Moving around I'm sure and the embies are getting snuggled in! Wishing you the best. Let us know about any symptoms.

Not much new for me today, just working away in this horrible heat! I really don't know how I will manage to do it once pregnant. But then I'll have to wait until the beginning of November and it will start to cool off.
I just will have to cut back on my hours and leave super early in the morning. I'll figure it out.

Have a great night !

Val-I can't believe you are starting stims next week! Stay cool. It has been really hot up here so I cant even imagine how hot it is there and to be outside all the time.

Kate-hope you are staying dry in your lovely English weather! I can't believe how soon your trip is. Cant wait to hear about it.

Jharris-Glad you are back at work. I did 2 days of modified rest. I did get up but my RE didn't even think that was necessary. I went back to work yesterday. I have been having cramping as well. Just little twinges. I keep telling the embies to stick so hopefully they listen to mommy!

Babycrazy-congrats on starting

Amamda-welcome, I think lots of people are stimming around the same time as you.

JCD-Cant wait to hear about your us today. Hope the smaller ones catch up.

baby_crazy-wow 18 follicles. That is great.

well as for me, I am just waiting....beta is next Wednesday so not too far away. I have had some cramping but not bad just letting me know that my uterus is there. I talk to the embies all the time and really feeling good this cycle.
I am having a hard time with the PIO. I haven't tried the ice, have been doing it at night and waking up in bad pain. Do you really think the ice works?
Hope everybody else is doing well.

Hi ladies! I had my u/s this morning and I'm still in the game! Okay, the lead follicle is 17, then I have one at 15, one at 13 and one at 12! The only thing that has saved me is the lead follie is growing at a very slow pace! RE said today that they need to reach 15mm to have a mature egg...and they are willing to go to retrieval with having only 3 again. So for now, I continue w/ stims and go back tomorrow morning. I took today off from work because I had to order more follistim, and I have to be home for the delivery. I was also thinking I may need the time to be sad, but I'm happy! Trying to not get too excited, but I can't help it after the week I've had.

hopinginpa and jharris Hang in there during your 2ww! I'm praying those little guys stick for you! Hoping, sorry to hear about the problems w/ PIO. Although I haven't had to do those injections, my clinic recommended using ice, and walking around after the injection.

Val Thanks for your support along the way. I know you are also working with only one ovary. You know, sometimes I'm so envious of the girls with a ton of follicles going on...but I guess I have to accept what I have and hope for my miracle.

suekiwi You are absolutely right...each eggie is so precious! Thank you for your encouragement also. Hopefully I will be the first BFP for us "few follicle girls"!

Karen How are you doing? Hope your are keeping your spirits up!

bell-02 Glad to hear you are moving forward...I know I felt like I had to be taking some action to make this happen, so now, you are on your way.

JJJake I'm so sorry about your cyst. That is such a disappointment. Hang in there during your wait for next u/s! I hope that cyst shrinks right up so you can get back on track!

Babyloves How are you feeling? How many more days of the 2ww for you????

Rosario Not really sure about the clotting....I would ask the doc.

Kate21 Wow, injections Thursday? Before you know it you will be in Sweden!

MzTia How are you? Keeping up the PMA I hope!

WelcomeAmanda and Hoping4amiracle! So glad you joined us. Amanda, your friend gave you excellent advice. The ladies on the board have really helped me get through this crazy ride - and I can totally relate to the agony of feeling somewhat helpless in this situation. It is pretty much out of our hands and that is a tough pill to swallow sometimes. I wish you all the best this cylce!

Muggsey, Rosario, and anyone else I may have forgotten - hope you are all doing well and keeping up that PMA!

A quick post before I go.

YEAH JDC!!! I'm so happy for you that it's going to be ok. I thought that your leader was slow, he's just waiting for the pack to join him. You're going to do great, I feel it and I feel your enthusiasm. You can feel good about all this! :D You'll probably have 4, that would be wonderful. Fingers and toes crossed for you.

hopingpa~ About the PIO...I had a severe reaction to it and no matter what I did, it was horrible to the point where I could hardly sit down and walking was a struggle. I must have looked really funny. I don't think icing is the answer as it is an oil that you're injecting and when you cool oil, it will not move anywhere. They recommended me to warm the oil in hot water for a minute before drawing it and to massage the area of injection a lot afterwards. It did not really help in my case but the heat makes more sense than the cold. I was swollen, red, itchy and in shear pain. Eventually they switched me to endometrin ( vaginal suppositories) and liked them so much more. They cost a fortune but I could not put another needle in my sore butt.
This cycle, they're starting me with endometrin and won't even bother with PIO!

Gotta go and wish everyone a splendid day!

Hugs ...

Hi ladies
JDC: i hope the other follies catch up...even with 2 ovaries..sometimes only one gets all the action...good luck
valerie: glad ur starting stims soon...best of luck - i have my fingers crossed for you. i'm doing okay, no real symptoms anymore except that i'm really out of shape sitting on my A**. i need to walk or something. Beginnning to get a little protruding tummy and i'm not even sure if im pg or not!
hopinginpa and jharris: hope the 2ww is going well. i'm also having a hard time with pio shots, even using ice stills causes pain in the morning like i've been working out my butt all day. i haven't tried walking around or a heating pad
amanda: my friend was given a 30% chance and she's pg now! are u saying that uneven cells are worse - like 3, 5, 7 cell embies? i haven't heard that. i've heard that totally perfect embies are not the norm. anyway, good luck!
kate: sounds like ur stepdaugther is an active little girl! good luck with stims.
okay, that's it for now...i know i missed a lot of people, but i'm still catching up after the weekend. Hope everyone else is doing well!

Had relatives over again...it gets my mind off things so its good. Hope i start a lucky trend of BFPs for the thread...i can't believe the beta is this friday..i'll poas on thursday...

Hello ladies. Hope you are having a great day!

AmandaM: Welcome to the group! Best of luck to you!

bell_02: I'm glad you are feeling better about things. We all have those down moments, you just have to pick yourself up and move on and know in your heart that its going to happen! You are already on your way!!

valerie: Ha! I like the baby olympics idea! I have been staying busy, so time is going by okay. I am sure I wil POAS maybe a day or 2 before the beta. I have one at home, I have to use it!! Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids out in that heat! Try to stay cool!

hopinginpa: I think my DH thought it was more neccesary for me to rest than the RE! Sounds like we are both having those twinge cramps. I'm taking that as a good sign! As for the PIO, make sure the PIO is warm, but I ice my hip for about 10 minutes so the shot itself doesn't hurt. Then just make sure to massage the area when you are done. And I've heard walking around a little helps. Good luck!

JDC: Woo Hoo!! I am so glad that one follie is going slow to allow the others to catch up! Enjoy your day off being happy!

babyloves: Those nasty PIO are getting several of us! :? I just keep tellling myself its for a great cause, ice up, and then massage it in. It's helping, but my hips are still sore in the morning. Your 2ww is almost up! That is so awesome!!

Everyone else, hope you enjoy your day!! Mine is going well. Got a call from the embryologist, and he said we had one embie make it to blast and to freeze! But he also said that it didn't matter, because he was sure I was pregnant already with the beautiful ones we put back, and they should be implanting either yesterday or today! And he's the expert! :D That made me feel good to hear! Anyway, just getting through the 2ww and trying to stay calm! Talk to you all later!

Hello Ladies,

JDC- I am so happy you are defiantley going to have time for those smaller follies to catch up. I bet you get 4!! That will be fantastic. I bet they are growing so strong with all the time they have.

Valerie- I feel for you about the heat. We moved to Washington to get away from it.

JHarris- What a difference a cycle makes you have a frostie for NEXT pregnancy. I can't wait til you POAS.

Bell-02- Try to keep that PMA. I know it is hard I struggle with it terribly. I skipped my nephews b-day party a couple weeks ago because I just couldn't be around all those kids.

As for the PIO shots. Some nights I just cried cause they hurt so much to get them. I was ok after but I had to ice for 20-25 mins just to be able to get the shot. I did use a heating pad for 10 mins after but no longer cause I was scared it was too much heat.

Still nothing going on here. I am on day 28 and still no AF. I ALWAYS get AF on day 25-26. I don't even feel her coming but she will inher own time I suppose. After this AF just one more for me to start stims. I will not be down regging so hopefully it makes a difference.

Welcome Amanda, this a great bunch of supportive women.

How is everyone else doing?

As usual I am at work not working so I best get at it.

Have a great day!!!

Hi Girls,

JDC - great news on the follie count - keep the PMA, I'm sure you will have great embies to put back

Babyloves - 2ww is almost done and dusted - only another 36 wks of worrying to go when you get your BFP!! I've never had the PIO shots so I can't relate, but I'm guessing they are pretty painful!

JHarris - how's it going? Keeping busy is the key to the 2ww I think, although nothing too strenuous. Great news from the embryologist as well, you'll be able to have a sibling for your embies - Good luck!

Hopinginpa - hope the PIO shots get a bit better, can't offer any advice but it will be worth all the pain in then end when you get your BFP

Val - hope you aren't suffering too badly in the heat - I get really grumpy. Thankfully it has cooled off over here, perhaps that is the British summer over and done with?

Amanda - welcome, hope tmt goes ok for you

Hi to everyone else, hope you are doing ok?

I have spent the day babysitting a gorgeous 4 mth old - he's my best friend's nephew. I'm getting in the practise while I can - won't be that long before I have my own!!

Anyway, will catch up again later!

JDC~I am so excited that your smaller follies are catching up!! What terrific news. I feel like you might get 4 this time!

JHarris and Hoping and Babyloves~chill out and let the DHs take care of you and your embies! I am hoping for you all.

Amanda~We dont do the PIO shots in NZ--suppressaries are the standard protocol. But sound like these ladies have some good tips. 30% odds are actually quite repectable. Do not stress--you will be in the lucky 30%!

Bell~its nice to hear from you. You will be stimming before you know it! I'm glad you are feeing better about things nowadays.

Mz tia~I just got AF yesterday. So one more AF and I get to start. I think we will be syned up.

Val and everybody else--have a super day! sorry this is so short--im runnning out the door to work. It's Wednesday mornign here--we are a day ahead of you all!
