Hi Rlzysk!
I have my Beta on Wednesday and I am going nuts! I have had two + HPT s over the past few days, and the waiting is killing me. I am anxious to hear how you made out this morning. Praying for a BFP for you!! Please let me know how you did. I would love to keep in touch, since we are so close in our cycle.
By the way, it took me a while to get used to all the abbreviations too.....

Hi everyone. I got the call about an hour ago that it's positive!!!! My beta is at 404.....isn't that high?! Now I have another 2WW to see how many heartbeats. I'm just thrilled and the phone has been ringing off the hook! I don't know how I'm supposed to get any work done!!!!!

alreadyblessed - thanks for the abbreviations - I am not even good at texting, so it takes me a while to figure out these things. You must be going crazy having two + HPT! Please let us know how you do on Wednesday! It sounds good to me!!!!!

Kimmysq - I didn't POAS because I was too nervous of a false reading. I had self control before so I thought I should do the same thing again....although this time it was killing me. The girl who took my blood this morning could not believe that I hadn't tested! Let's just say I'm good at following "the rules"... :D

Everyone, please keep us posted on your progress! I'm hoping for more good news!!!!

Thanks for all of your support!!!!

rlzysk - congrat's on the great beta - that's a fantastic number, you must be so happy!

Joyanna - thanks for the welcome and gl in the 2ww - that's always the hardest for me, I'm too crazy and end up POAS every day! Hopefully, you'll have more restraint :D

Kimmy - thanks for the welcome also.

I'm on day 5 of lupron and today is my last day of BCPs - then hopefully will start stims on Sunday - it seems crazy to me how fast this is all going. It used to feel like these cycles took forever, but now it seems like it's flying by.

I noticed there's lots of us doing TMC/acupuncture. I'm also a big 'acupuncture' fan - I've been doing it regularly since before I got pg with DD in my third IVF cycle and think it made all the difference (combined with healthy diet, exercise, vitamin supp's, etc....) But, I'm a huge fan and at my age, I need all the help I can get (I just turned 40  )

Anyhooo.....my daughter's now 1 and runs around keeping me very busy which is probably why I have no time to think about the IVF business. Probably a good thing, though, less time to obsess like I did in my prior cycles.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Hi All
Just thought would check in real quick - didn't realise how quickly everything had gone.

Laura I haven't posted since your disappointment on the transfer - so belated sorry that things got cut short like that - any closer to deciding what you might do now??

Yellow - congratulations! Things look good then? Keep us posted, you got a positive and its climbing - great!!!!!

Congrats on the other beta (risky??) and will catch up with what is happening with everyone over the coming days when have more time.

Suzhan (?) sorry about the m/c - I just had a nasty one too, that I think I am only just over, only everynow and again when I see someone pregnant or just in the middle of the day I reflect on how pregnant I would be now if things hadn't taken a bad turn - and its all just a bit gutting for a small moment. Sigh.

Kimmy (?) your trying a non medicated? All my FET's (3 in all) were non medicated. One successful pregnancy with DD, one successful implantation that ended in miscarriage. I don't know comparative stats with medicated, but it was great not to have all the extra medications etc.

Me . . . had my follow up with my re last weekish- and pretty much I can start IVF on my next AF, though think I am going to wait at least one month first after first AF just to make sure all back to normal. Am going through all same crazy stresses now though as last time - my DH smokes - and I hate it and it drives me crazy and am totally worried it is going to jepordize our chances, so trying not to TOTALLY whine and nag his head off (not doing so well at the mo!!).

Anyway will catch up with you all in more detail later.

Best

M

When is your next Beta scheduled for? Well, you will be busy with wonderful things over the next 2 weeks. It definitely beats the 2ww until the first Beta!! God Bless, and stay well.:D

Kimmysq - thanks, and we'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Keep us posted on how it goes and how you are feeling.

suzhan - thanks to you too! I can totally relate to the cycle feeling shorter this time around. Last time if felt like time was standing still. This time the whole treatment just flew by and before I knew it I was having the transfer. I think you're right - much more to focus on with little ones already running around!

Melo_P - can totally relate to the DH smoking! My doc told me this time around how important it was for him to stop. I think the more we nag the worse they are! I tried nagging, then I stopped. He seemed to cut back at that point. It's so frustrating!!!! Men!!!! Good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress.

alreadyblessed - thanks so much! My beta fell on 13 days post a 5 day transfer (so 18 days after retrieval). My clinic aims to test 17 days post retireval, which I guess would make sense as that will be about when you would miss a period. So I don't know if my beta is high, or if it's normal for the timeframe. Anyway, I'll find out soon enough! I'm happy either way!

We told our 5 1/2 year old last night that he was going to be a big brother. My mother didn't want us to, but he's been asking for a sister or brother (actually he wants one of each and already picked out names for them), and since the beta was strong, I felt it would be ok. He is excited, but doesn't comprehend the timeframe and how long he has to wait for the baby to arrive. Does anyone think it was a mistake to tell them this early? I guess what's done is done, but I'd like to hear what others may have done. I guess when you go through all of this and can't concieve the "old fashioned" way, it's just not as easy to keep it a secret - especailly when you had so many people praying for you!

Hi, girls. I'm very sad to report that my beta dropped from 420.5 to 28.5. It was so hard not to get my hopes up. Even with the low beta, it seemed to be increasing well. A little part of me expected this, but I was still really hoping things would work out.

Needless to say, I'm sad and a little scared. I'm not sure what will happen once I stop the medication. Also, with three failed attempts now, it starts to seem like maybe IVF won't be successful for me again. Makes me wonder how I got so lucky with my little girl.

Oh, this sucks.

rlysk, congratulations on your beautiful beta. I think yours is has high as mine was about 23 dpo. Lucky! :) Maybe you've turned around the #2 girls' rotten luck.

Melo_P, good to hear from you and I'm glad to see you're almost ready to try again. This stuff is so hard. It's so good to see that other women go through this too. As soon as I'm ready, I'll be trying again.

suzhan, I know what you mean about time flying! Good luck to you. I really hope your cycle goes smoothly.

alreadyblessed, did you mention +HPT? Congrats. Can't wait to hear the beta.

I'll post an updated #2 Girls list a little later.

Take care!
Me 34, DH 33

2nd IVF: 2/08 BFN
3rd IVF: 5/08, transfer cancelled
1st FET: 7/08, chemical
2nd FET: eventually...

Yellow:
I am so sorry about your beta numbers declining. I felt that you were going to be fine since your numbers did such a nice job of doubling.
((((((((((((((99hugs))))))))))))))))

I had my RE appt today and my lining is at 8.7. I was dissapointed and was hoping for higher. Re felt is was okay, so I am still a go for tomorrow. Please pray that my embies make the thaw. I have 8 frozen at 3dt.
Okay, I just had AP and didn't have a great experience. I am signed up for tomorrow after ET and then the day after. It actually stressed me out quite a bit....I didn't expect that. Maybe I should be trying this so close to my ET. Anyone else experience this. Seems like most people love it....I may cancel my next two appt. ?? Any advice?

Just my two cents - if you had a bad experience and the thought of doing more AP is stressing you out, I'd say don't do it. This process is stressful enough without that. It should be a serene, relaxing experience that helps enhance the ET process, but if it makes you tense, I'd say you shouldn't do it.

I'm a big proponent of Acupuncture/TCM, but I wouldn't want you to be overly stressed because that's much worse.....

Hope that helps - am keeping everything crossed for you!

Yellow - I'm so sorry about your news. That happened to me my second time around after my first FET and it was very difficult. The clinic told me that since i had success the first time wiht a fresh embryo that it would probably work for me again. So don't give up. The next few weeks will be difficult for you, so look for support from family and friends. I hope you will try again! Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kimmysq - I have to agree with suzhan that if AP is stressing you out and not enjoyable, then don't do it. Just go home and sleep or relax and do nothing after your transfer. Hang in there and keep us posted.

Hi everyone!
I just got back from the doctors office, and am trying to keep busy
awaiting my first beta!!
I took my 10th HPT last night, and it was +++, so I gave in, and told the DH. I got 5 fortune cookies, took the fortunes out with tweezers and whited them out and wrote IM PREGNANT on all of them and stuffed them back into the cookie (not an easy task!! ). He picked a cookie, and couldn't believe it! He was ecstatic, although his face has looked somewhat like this since he found out

Yellow~ So sorry to hear about your dropping beta. This has to be such a difficult time for you. Stay strong, and know that most of us ladies have been down the m/c road one way or another, and somehow we find the strength to move forward, and possibly try again. Whatever your decision, you will be in my prayers.

rlysk~ Congrats again on an awesome beta. I wonder how many are cooking! :D I think telling your son was fine. I told my daughter when she was 4 years old that there was a baby in my tummy, but that God had to help the baby grow very big before she could come and live with us. I also told her that sometimes babies don't grow very big, and then they will stay with God. That way, I covered all of my bases with her in case anything went wrong. How are you feeling? When is your next beta?

alreadyblessed - I just love how you broke the news to your DH! I can't wait to hear your beta levels! Be sure to keep us posted!!!!

I am going to use what you told your daughter for my son. That is just a beautiful way to explain it so that they understand. Thanks!

I had my second beta this morning. Still waiting on the results. Not as anxious as I was on Monday, but still a little nervous! I'm feeling good, just the occasional cramping and twinges and pulls. My breasts are getting more sore, and my nipples itch!!! Oh the joys!!!!
