Beta hcg question

Post by Yellow »

I have a question about my beta levels.

We transfered 2 thawed embryos on 7/3. Our embryos were frozen at the one cell stage. They were thawed 2 days before transfer. They grew to a 5-cell and an 8-cell.

1st beta on 7/15 was 7.7
2nd beta on 7/17 was 19.5
3rd beta on 7/21 was 202.1
4th beta 7/23 was 420.3

My 5th beta will be on 7/29. I have no pain or bleeding. I've had mild cramps that come and go.

I understand the conventional wisdom is that doubling times are more important that levels. Is this still true even when levels are this low? Is it meaningful that the doubling time for the latest beta is slower? Why would beta levels be this low?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You're doing great!!!

FET cycles often have lower (later starting) hCG curves. I must say, those first two numbers are lower than we usually see, but they are rising fast, indicating classic growth curves, and strongly suggesting at least one embryo has made a fine attachment and is going strong.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. You did manage to make the rest of my weekend a little more enjoyable.

Unfortunately, my beta today (7/29) was 28.5. Ugh.

Is a "chemical pregnancy" a technical term? Should I consider this a miscarriage. I suppose it doesn't really matter. I just wish I could wrap my head around what happened.

Thanks again for all your insights.

Dear Yellow,
Sorry to hear that. I know how hard it is. I hope you get BFP next time. It is not easy after that much waiting to get this result. Anyway you should be happy at least you have a little girl and you have experience being mom. I never got BFP in my life and I love kids and afraid that I never have a child of my own. Anyway I will pray for you and remember there is always next time and don't give up.
Love
