Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all the advice. My girls schedule is something like this...
Depending on when they wake up...They get a morning feed about 6/7ish then sleep 3-4hrs. Feed around 10/11ish then will stay awake for awhile like 30min-hr. Sleep for about 3 hrs Feed around 2/3 sleep 3hrs feed around 5 usually stay awake for awhile. Usually do baths around 7:30 and then feed about 8. After that feed all hell breaks loose. Jaqulynne will not sleep. Will cry and fuss and nothing soothes her. Then we feed around 11pm. Both will sleep until they wake about 4 hrs later. So they do sleep. It's just this time of night after 8 Jaqulynne becomes cranky and unsoothing. They do eat at the same time and usually sleep at the same times maybe within 30 min of eachother.
I will try not giving the bath tomorrow night and see if that makes a difference. Any other suggestions are welcome. I'm willing to try anything to make our evenings more peaceful.

Kimberli, sounds like she's getting enough sleep. Were they born early? Mine were sleepy all the time until they hit 2 months as well. Are they formula fed? My daughter who was diagnosed as having acid reflux, even though she rarely spits up, was also fussy in the evenings and there was nothing we could do to calm her down. We switched formula to hypo-allergic one plus we started giving her an anti-acid medication and she is much better now. We also swaddled her very tightly and then put her in the swing. She would cry for maybe five minutes, but she always fell asleep. Sometimes, we gave her gripe water as well. It helps with the colic symptoms and it really did. Boy, you just have to try different things and by the time you'd find out the best way to soothe her, she'll probably grow out of the phase... So sorry you are going through it.

Hi ladies,
Kimi- Thanks for the input. I didnt' bathe them last night and they both went down after the 8 feed. However, they both stayed up from 5-8 last night. I took them for a walk after we ate and they cat napped and were asleep when I got home but when I tried to lay them down of course they woke. Tonight I'm bathing them before the 5 feed and see what happens. That will give them plenty of time to wind down. They get so worked up after they get out of the bath. They like being in the bath but afterwards they scream/cry while I diaper and put pjs on them.
They are bottle fed with breast milk during the day and the middle of the night feed and the last 2 bottles of the night and first morning feed is formula.
Thank you to everybody for all the support. Hearing that this is all normal and will eventually subside gives me a light at the end of the tunnel.

sameera: I think at that point I too was having a hard time breathing. It is just everything pushing up on the lungs. I would not say it gets worse but your get more used to it? The only time I really notice it now is getting up and walking a far distance (like at the mall or something), which I can no longer do on bed rest haha. BUT if it is more than just out of breath and it does not go away, ask the doctor. You need to make sure you get enough oxygen.

I can not wait! I am 30 weeks on Wednesday!! With all the hospital stays for preterm labor and bed rest the doctor is hopeful for 32 weeks but I am going to make it to 34! Positive thinking always works! I just have to take procardia every 6 hours for contractions which seems to be working thus far as long as I stay in bed. But now I am getting excited about seeing the girls!!

sugabeanzs - thanks for the advise - I really hope you last 34weeks if that's how long you wanna go. I hope everything goes smoothly.

I'm sorry you are on bedrest cause it will drive me insane.

I cannot stand to think being on bedrest but I guess if it's good for the babies then it's good for me..

Sameera,
I have also noticed having a hard time breathing. I am sure all the extra going on down there, plus the fact you have twins (!!) is causing the problem. I find it a bit un-nerving though and I am sure you do too. I live at high altitude and sometimes going up the stairs makes me feel like I ran five miles...
Suga,
I have been thinking about you so much and I am so happy for you to get to the 30 week milestone! I am sure bedrest in challanging in every way but you are such an example of positive mental attitude! Nice job!

Sara and sugarbeanz - Question do you guys feel your babies move more on left side??

I dunno what's the deal but I feel a lot of movement on the left side then I do right side.

I am just trying to figure out if the babies are just on left or what. it's wierd..

Sameera,
I notice much more movement on the lower left. I think Baby A has an posterior placenta and Baby B has an anterior one. So I hardly ever feel movement that I attribute to Baby B. Has your Dr mentioned placenta placement? When is your next u/s again?

Sara - No my OB never mentioned placenta placement. My next u/s is scheduled on August 25th but I have a check up with my OB on August 11th.

I guess that explains why I feel more on left side.

Sara: I wish I were a great example for you ladies! If it were up to me and I knew 100% they would be healthy I would want these girls out of me! lol. But this week has been a pretty good week thus far.

Sameera: My movement is ALL over the place! However, baby A is way low in the pelvis (causing the problems) and I mostly just feel her kick or punch not move too much. Baby B is all over the place, left right, does not matter. Both are in the breech position. In the last day or 2 it has gotten crazy in there...I think they have found each other now there is less room and they kick at each other or punch at each other. Cute but can get annoying when trying not to pee yourself haha.

Hi All,

How are you all doing?
Sugarbeanz, hope you are donig well. YOu made it to the 30th and you can do it! Great job!

Sameera, I did experience shortness of breath often. My babies were pusing against my heart and also supporting two growing babies were a lot to cope with. It's all part of the twin pregnancy! I think it's the positioning of the baby (that you feel more on the left) and where the placenta is etc.. I felt more on the left, too, but then my Dr said baby B is closer to the skin surface since the placenta was on the backside where as baby A's placenta was anterior and that's why I don't feel him so much.

Kimberli, how are your twins? Hope the evening situation is better.

My DS is sick with cold and it's been pretty miserable. I am trying really hard not to make my twins sick, but I think it's just a matter of time... I also want to make sure I don't get sick, too, cause that's the worse -- caring for babies while not feeling so well.

Hope everyone else is having a better day!!

tolbee - I hope your DS gets better and everything is okay and most of all you don't get sick.

sugabeanzs - heh girl you make me laugh so hard! I hope it gets better for you. I'm sure I will be feeling lots and lots of movement as this pregnancy progress.

High chair recommendations?

Post by woodcliff »

Hi Ladies...thank you all for your help...
I did go to the concert...it was fantastic...my babies were 'introduced' to 5,000 people, we went on stage. My son was in awe of the 110 musicians! So was I...
It was so hot, and the round trip was 4 hours. Next time I'll need to take a sitter, my son hated the ride.

Kholtan, you do amaze me that you do all of this on your own...I get sad sometimes because I do need help...maybe it's my 40something bones? Don't know...but I am home with the babies while a sitter comes for sev. hrs in the afternoon...I do need to talk to her because I feel I work for her ;)...my other sitter (who only comes occassionally) will do dishes, wash floors...you name it. My #1 sitter will only do baby stuff. I need a cook! A housekeeper! DON'T WE ALL? Won't happen, but a girl can dream.

OK...horrors. My babies are 4 months on Sunday.
High Chair recommendations? Gate and 'fence' recommendations?
Heading out of town, upon my return these kiddos will be rolling around. SO scared.
Love to all

Good Evening Mommies! Sorry I have been MIA! My cousin Whitney made her normal surprise appearance and we have been having a blast for the last 5 days. She just went home today so we are catching up. Whew!

WC~ Thank you for your sweet words. It must be known that I am very energetic and a bit OCD so let that explain my doing it on my own. I truly think that no mommy should ever feel bad for needing help. It was my job for almost 10 years to help new mommies and I honestly feel that whenever you make the best choise for your family you are the being amazing! Some babies are more work than others as well and God gave me what I could handle on my own because he knows me well! :)
What a great evening you must have had with concert! Did you take pics? Moments like that are so special!! What a neat experience for them to have had. As far as high chairs go, I have Eddie Bauer ones that are ok. I got them because they are pretty compact and easy to clean, did I mention I am OCD?? :D They aren't the most comfy things but I do like them. My personal favorite has always been the Peg Perego. It never stains and is super easy to clean and very comfy. Pricey but nice.
4 months! AGHGHGHGH!!! Goes by so fast huh? Savor ever second!

Kimi~ So sorry to hear about Noah being sick! He's too cute to be sick! He is so adorable though. I wish I would have attempted to pick your babies up when we saw each other. I miss little babies super bad right now! Plus, with those little cheeks. . .MUAH!!!! Hope he's on the mend!

Sameera, Sarah, and Sugabeanzs~ I love hearing everyone try to figure out where their babies are. I was so confused and could never ever tell who was doing what to me. Then I would hear other mothers of multiples say "here is so-and-so. . .yada, yada.." and I would be baffled by even trying to identify one much less two! I remember not feeling anything on one side for 24 hours and I was in the OB making him do an us. Good luck mommies! You are all doing AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Ooops. . .gotta run. Dh needs some help and our house is a wreck! We have literally been on the boat or river for 5 days straight and it's been crazy trying to get things in order. Have a great night everyone!

BTW~ Sad last note. . .a woman who comes on this web page has a blog called www.itsacornylife.blogspot.com and she recently lost one of her twins to TTTS. So if anyone has an extra second to send some prayer her way. . .she needs it for sure. She was 24weeks 2 days along when she lost her. Cannot imagine her pain. Cannot even imagine the thought.

Hugs to you all and all the babes!
