Hi

Post by jenolina »

Hi All,

I have been lying low finishing my BCP. I am done! Yeah! I went in today for an ultrasound and got the all clear to begin stim drugs this weekend. I felt nervous just watching the nurse with all those needles! I will probably have my first shot Sunday morning. Anyone out there with injections advice? I know I'll probably be okay once I do it the first time, but it helps to hear from those who've been through it.

Did any of you take Lupron? I went straight from BCP to FSH meds. Just wondering...

Also, any of you doing acupuncture during IVF? I read some studies that said it was related to increased success rates, but my friend told me it's really only recommneded for high-risk, low success candidates.

Good luck and baby dust to all of you :)

Well, come to find out they did find a very small 5th follie it was at like 11mm. So, obviously the 5th eggie must have come from that one! I don't care where it came from, it just came :)

I am just so excited about babyloves BFP! We are going to have sooo many BFP's on this board, I just know it.

I am awake at 4:10 am! I got into such a routine waking up so early to make it to the clinic for b/w and u/s before work, now I can't sleep past 4. Plus I must have some anxiety about my fert report today....this is where it ended last cycle.

jenolina The stim injections are not that bad from my experience. I was on follistim and that needle was so fine I didn't even feel it. I also had low dose hcg for which an insulin needle was used, and I found I had to give it quite a push to pierce the skin, but it was not bad. Once you do it once or twice you will be just fine. I did not take lupron because I was on an antagonist cycle - no BCP's either. We worked off my natural cycle...there are a few different protocols. As far as AP....I highly recommed it. I have been doing it for the last 2 months. And now, I was surprised that my clinic just completed a research study that found that laser acupuncture does increase success rates, so now after egg retrieval they are recommending women get some treatments - and they are actually offering it at my clinic. This is new, and wasn't in place during my first cycle in May, so I've been getting the traditional treatments.

muggsey the end of BCP's is in sight! Soon you will be on your way!

Val Sorry to hear you are PMSy...that used to be the story of my life! I've always had terrible symptoms. Hey, but the good thing is they do pass, and you have so much to look forward too! I have sooooo much hope for you this cycle, I just know you will have great success.

hoping, JHarris How are you guys hanging in? Betas this week, right? Can't wait for more BFP's!

ngdo Sending you tons of well wishes for your ET today!!!

Suekiwi Enjoy your holiday!! Wow, three weeks sounds wonderful. Be sure to stay in touch with us when you can!

MzTia, Kate21, turtles, and others..... Thank you soo much for the Woohoo's and encouragement! Put's a HUGE smile on my face and in my heart!

Morning!

Babyloves - what a great beta number :D :D :D Bet you and DH are so excited? Lets hope it is the start of great things for the rest of us!!!

Val - sorry to hear you are feeling Pmsey - just think you won't have to suffer with it for much longer as you will be pregnant....9mths of no PMT :D

JDC - am thinking of you and the fert report, I am sure it will be good news x

JHarris & Hoping - how you doing? Your turn next for the BFP's

Jenolina - the injections aren't too bad, it's more psychological than physical. I found doing them in the top of my leg better than in my stomach - couldn't get my head around doing them in my tummy!!

Muggsey - the end of BCP...now the exciting stuff starts with the stims. One step closer to that BFP

Ngdo - good luck with ET, hope it all goes well and you get plenty of eggs x

SueQiwi - enjoy your holiday. You will come back nice and relaxed and raring to go with your tmt

Turtles - good luck with the stimming, there will be lots of us stimming around the same time - we can cheer each other on!

Rosario - how are you doing?

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing ok?

As for me not much to report. I have the first of 3 weddings today, it is a girl I used to teach and have known her since she was 11. It is a bit freaky thinking that she is now a qualified PE teacher, has bought her first house and gets married today!! Anyway, we also have another one next Saturday ( a couple from work) and then we're off to Sweden and the day after we return we have another one with a couple form work again!

We have my step daughter again from Monday, so I am trying to conserve energy before she arrives! I pick up my drugs on Wed for stimming on Thursday - it has come around so quickly!!

Enjoy your weekend girls, will catch you all later

I just got my fert report: only 4 eggs were mature enough to do icsi...out of those 4, I currently have 2 embryos growing right now. I'm so excited, but so scared they won't make it until monday! This part of it is new to me.

JDC~ Thinking about you and your dividing embies. Fingers and toes crossed...and I even braided my hair  .So that's a lot of things crossed for you! Maybe the other two will fertilize as well. It has happened.

alimoyni~ Your lining is perfect and a great cohort of follies. You're almost there! Let us know about your E2 numbers, I'm sure they've gone up considerably!

I'm going back to my sauna and plant more palms while I still can.
My DH says: " So you won't eat a chocolate chip cookie but it's ok to go dig holes in the ground". I said: what does a cookie have to do with digging holes? He probably thinks I shouldn't exert myself too much. I won't be doing this when I'm stimming but now it's still ok.

Will catch with all of you later.

JDC~Congrats on your two fertilized eggs!! This means your eggs are so much better than last time! Two with early cleavage is excellent and like Val said the others could follow. You will have strong embies this time. I am thinking of you!

Kate~I am excited for your pending trip to Sweden. I hope you get to do some sightseeing while you are there. Just think of what a special place Sweden will be for your family after you get your BFP.

Jenolina~My one tip for injections would be to push the plunger slowly as this avoids any bruising. I only got bruises when I was in a hurry--so just take your time. I promise it wont be as bad as you are imagining now--i was scared to death too.

Val~Im sorry you were feeling PMSy. My naturpath told me that sometimes women with high FSH have extreme PMS due to our hormone levels already being out of balance on a daily basis. When the levels change again due to AF coming we are just really out of whack! I also have extreme reaction to BFPs for the same reason--I am dreading being on them again. Do you do ok on the pill?

alimoyni~wow--nice array of follies and excellent lining! You are in great shape. :)

Chris & Muggsy~almost time for stims! The wait is nearly over and you will be one step closer to being Mums.

Hugs to all you strong ladies! Keep the faith. We will be Mums.

Good evening!

Jenolina~ Good to hear from you! As far as the injections go, my DH inserts the needle with a quick motion and pushes on the plunger slowly. I take Bravelle and Menopur and it stings after the injections but it's really not bad at all. At first, you don't know what to anticipate and just the unknown is a little scary. It shouldn't hurt and I've never had any bruising either.
I don't take Lupron at all and will start on Thursday.
Keep us posted on your progress .... we'll will be by your side the entire time. :D

SueQiwi~ I've had PMS for the past few years. Sometimes it's really bad and sometimes I don't have anything at all. Since they removed my ovary last November, I've had problems with feeling more irritated but since my chemical, I actually feel great. This was the first time since.
I felt like I had major PMS when I was on the stim meds and so in that respect, I don't look forward to the injections again.
The BCP don't seem to do anything in that department except the first couple of days I was very nauseated.
I'm sorry that bcp give you PMS, that is such a yucky feeling to have because you can't control it.

Rosario~ How's everything going? Are you getting really close to retrieval? Let us know what you're up to!

Not much going on here. I take my last pill tonight and then AF should be on schedule the next day. I go for BW and US on Thursday and will do my first injection in the RE's office.
I'm really excited about starting again. It feels a little surreal that I'm already at this point but I'm very ready! :D

Have a wonderful night!

Congrats babyloves!

I like the chart, that was a great idea to help keep track of everyone!

I took my first shot today, Lupron, and it didn't hurt, so that makes the whole process a little less nerve racking! My RE has me doing 7 days of Lupron and BCP, then 3 more days just Lupron during which time I get an u/s and b/w. Then I start stimming, brevelle, menapur, and Lupron in one injection. So that should be sometime later next week.

If you have a BFP after the 2ww, do they do the u/s right then or do you have to wait longer?

I didn't get the new car, too much stress, and not dealing with it I feel really calm right now as I begin this process. I went to a carnival last night and won 2 small raffle prizes, my friends said I am lucky, so I hope that is a good sign since today I started the meds!
