Guys - I dont know how much longer i can do these progesterone shots! They wake me up at 4 am throbbing. I have ice on my butt all the time!! not to mention the mood swings - permanent PMS - and sore boobs! It is so much worse than last time which i find strange. Same meds and needles. Anyone else really sore? there has to be somehting better

Kim: Yeah the PIO suck! I did less ice towards the end and the shot really hurt, but less pain in the morning..i wouldn't heat it like suggested by some as its supposted to be kept at less than 77 degrees..I think massagin the area afterwards or using a warm washcloth or heating pad may help...if your BMI (body mass index) is ~ 20...u maybe able to get 1 inch 22 gauge needles. Maybe ur sxs are from a developing BFP!! SG switched me over after 2 wks to the supps and i'm so glad as my bottom is still recovering. Now I'm worried that the medicine leaks out tho' and i'm only on twice daily...hope not..need my baby(ies) to keep on growing...when is ur beta
Antoak: its truly a blessing and i know i'm soo lucky..i thank God every time i think about it...which is a lot :D
hommy: i'm hoping for tons of baby dust for all of you!! Come on BFPs!!!

Hi Kim,

I had 3 choices for pio, the shots, the supps and the capsules that you insert similar to estrace. I spoke to a few people and decided on the capsules. I don't know if they are better because they have their own drawbacks, but they are definately less painful. I suppose I would rather stick with a mess then deal with the pain. I was told that they are different than the supps which seem to cause some people irritation. Like I said I am just relaying 3rd party info. Good luck and I hope you can get some sleep.

Hope everyone is doing well. I am triggering tonight with ER planned for Monday. My ovaries and aching and I need some fiber because I am seriously constipated. Sorry for TMI...but does anyone have any suggestions?

I get so constipated from all this too. My RE said it's from the PIO. He has me use colace, eat prunes, said sit on the pot until I go, etc. It hurts like heck I will tell you that. I just really started to go. My back was aching!

For constipation my RE said you could take Ducalox safely.

Ok ladies....STILL NOT FEELING ANYTHING!!!! Ugh! you all seem to be feeling nauseated, tender bbs, cramping....I could never be so lucky! At least you are reminded of a possibility that something is going on...I have nothing to go on! Today I am 4days post 5 day transfer....too soon maybe? I mean, c'mon....are sore bbs and a little nausea too much for a girl to ask for?! I just want something to reassure me that my embies are hanging in there.

As for the PIO shots...I am so sorry some of you are having such a hard time with them. It is the weirdest thing....every day I dread that magical hour that I get my shot, and every day it is a piece of cake. I dont even feel the injection. No ice, nothing. Although, I am quite bruised and sore but nothing to write home about. Well, it is the end of yet another day....one day closer to Beta. Trying to hang in there....starting to have a hard time keeping PMA. I am like what you all have been talking about...positive one minute, then preparing myself for the worst the next. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Rn - I hear ya. My husband nows says I have pna - positive negative attitude - im all over the map :-) I really dont have alot of symptoms either and am starting to think that it didnt work again. I feel crummy from the shots, but the shots have all the side effects of being prego - moody, nauseaus, cramping - so the rational part of me wants to say its from the pio. I was thinking this am that maybe ivf wouldnt be so tough if they just told you at your transfer if it worked or not :-) Maybe some day :-) You are soooo lucky about the shots. They are the worst part of ivf for me. Aug 11 seems so far away... I didnt find it this hard last time.

Hi Rn and Kim14:

I am also in the 2ww.. I am 4dp3dt. I have zero symptoms. I push on my breast in hopes that it will hurt a little..nope.

How much progesterone are you both on? I take 1cc in the am and 1cc in the pm of progesterone in sesame oil. My butt is also hurting!
I have some friends who use Crinone gel in am and PIO in evening. I am going to call RE this week and see if I can switch. Any thoughts on that?
My beta is 8/9.

I just wanted to thank all of you ladies for your thoughtful and encouraging words. They brought great comfort to me today as I read them. I did lots of crying on Friday after I got the BFN news. I couldn't say one full sentence without breaking into tears. My DH was terribly disappointed and sad too. However, we keep reminding ourselves that there could be worse things - neither one of us has a terminal disease. Unfortunately, our journey to having a child is difficult and heartbreaking. That said, we still have each other and our enormous love for one another. We are still truly blessed in our lives. So we are just taking our time working through our emotions. We are scheduling our follow up with the RE. Hopefully we can get in this week. We have vacation the following week which is nice. I think we could use the down time. We will be spending most of it with friends and family so that will be good. I'm feeling much stronger today. I'm still sad but at least I'm functional again. I'm not giving up - no way. My DH and I are just going to feel out some options and see what the doc says. We're done for the rest of this year with IVF (due to financial reasons). We are considering giving it another shot in January or February. Who knows maybe it will just happen on its own when we're not "trying" so hard. I'm just going to use the remainder of this year taking care of my body and getting back to the gym (took some time off due to the 2 cycles of IVF and a back injury).

I just want to wish all of you that have your beta this week lots and lots of luck!!! I've got fingers and toes crossed for you!!! Don't worry if you're not feeling anything - lots of BFPs have come from no symptoms. Try to keep the PMA going. I am praying for all of you!!! Congrats to you babyloves on such a high beta #!! That's fantastic!! You definitely have more than one bun in the oven

kimmy - i only do 1cc of pio at night. I cant even imagine more! You are doing a fet right? How often do you go for monitoring for that before et? How many do they typically put back in. We have 4 frosties but 3 were day 7 blasts so they dont have as good of a chance.

Venus:
I am so sorry about your results.
Sending lots of (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))).

Kim:
The FET was easy with very little monitoring. Only 3 u/s total before FET.
Our embies were frozen at day 3 and I am over 40, so we put back four.
I believe you need more progesterone during FET.
Baby dust,

Good afternoon ladies. I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend?! I've been keeping myself busy during my 2ww. At the beginning, I was feeling a little crampy, and had some bb tenderness, but I'm not really feeling any symptoms now, other than being tired. The PIO shots are keeping my hips/butt sore. I'm on 1cc of PIO once a night. But some how, I do feel different this 2ww than I did my last. Not sure how to explain it. But I feel more positive this time around, and it's making it easier to get through. Just keeping the PMA waiting for Friday!!

Sounds like you all are doing about the same as I am! rn2005, I'm not feeling any symptoms now either. kim14, my PIO shots seem to be more painful this time than last. Nothing much is helping.

emfossum: Congrats on trigger! Good luck for ER tomorrow!

Hope you are all still hanging in there. This will be a busy week for this group!! Baby wishes to you all!!
