You don't have to stop working out completely. Just no high impact, like aerobics, running and abdominal crunches. The reason for this is that your ovaries are being stimulated to the size of grapefruits. They are attached by tiny ligaments and a blood supply. If they become twisted during exercise the blood supply can become compromised and therefore your ovary would not get sufficient blood causing an emergency situation. Stick to walking, small weights, and yoga is good too!

hi!! thanks for the info:) I work out to the walking work out DVD. I haven't started shots yet, going on my second week of BC. I still have to lose 15lbs. so do you think I will be okay by September or near the end?
Thanks for the visual there of grapefruit ovaries!
I have my ER on Wednesday and I have been doing light cardio the entire time - bike and walking only vs running before.
Personally it helps me alot, the days I go to the gym I feel way better than the days I miss. So if your used to working out I think you should try to continue it in some form
Starting IVF/ICSI #1 and acupuncture.
ER Day ~ 8/6/08
ET Day ~ 8/11/08
1st HCG~ (9dp5dt) - 118 :)
2nd HCG ~ (11dp5dt) - 194
3rd HCG ~ (14dp5dt) - 408
4th HCG ~ (16dp5dt) - 666
5th HCG ~ (17dp5dt) - 919
If you are motivated you can lose the weight! Please do it sensibly though! No starvation diets! Walking is a good way to do it! Good luck.

I couldn't starve myself if I wanted to!! I LOVE FOOD!!!! I'm on a strict diet from a hospital weight loss program. It was hard at first, but I'm stickin to it!!!! i LOSE ABOUT 2-3lbs a week, which is norm for women. The weekly meetings help out too!!!!
amysbabies wrote:grapefruits?? please tell me that is an exaggeration... approx how big does each ovary get
That's no exaggeration. Baseballs, softballs, oranges, grapefruits... They can get up to 12cm or so, although typically less. Remember just one developing follicle can reach the size of a walnut, and some patients have many dozens of developing follicles.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
