Frozen Sperm question (Ghost/IVFNurse)

Post by alimoyni »

Just some quick questions - do they thaw the sperm the day of ER or the day before?

Are fertilization rates any lower using frozen sperm vs fresh sperm?

We are using ICSI so I assume they are picking the best ones or is it pretty random which ones get selected.

Thanks

I don't know if frozen sperm is any worse than fresh. I've always heard that frozen sperm is easy and reliable.

Frozen eggs are another matter.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

We used frozen sperm for all three of ourprocedures and got BFP's all three times. We had dh's surgery to get his sperm out months before I stated IVF to make sure he had some in there. They thaw it the morning of the ER. Good Luck!

We only thaw the frozen sperm backup if the spouse cannot produce a fresh specimen on day of retrieval. Of course, fresh is optimal, but frozen definitely will do the trick!!
I am an infertility nurse and I work in a major IVF facility. I am willing to answer questions and give guidance, however, since I am not treating you, only your physician can give you the most accurate information.

I was blessed to have two pregnancies and live births through ICSI with frozen sperm. Good luck to you!

Hi,
We used frozen sperm since we are from Costa Rica and I had to go to the US to do the IVF (it is not legal here) so at the first appointment they took the sperm sample just in case my husband could not be there the day of the retrieval... We got a BFP using frozen sperm...
