Gonal F Pen question

Post by Sue1234 »

Hi- I am on my 3rd Ivf attempt. I am doing Ivf w/ PGD this time and my RE increased my Gonal F dosage to 225 in the morning and 225 in the evening. My last two IVF' s I only had the dosage of 150 daily. Has anyone had this high of a dosage? My first follicle check is not until Friday. Thanks!

Hi Sue- My dosage began with 300 units of Gonal F. I stayed on this dosage until last night when I triggered where it was reduced to 150 units.

I feel fine and I have 14 follies.

On my first cycle, I actually ended up on 600ius!! My 2nd cycle, I was started on 300IU's, but ended up on 412iu's. So I wouldn worry too much about your dosage. I'm sure your doctor is basing it on how you responded during your previous cycles.

Because it is your 3rd attempt is why you are on 450units. That is our highest dose that we use and we use it a lot on pts who have had failed prior cycles. The good thing about gonadotropins is that they can be adjusted to the desired effect. When you go in on Friday if the level is rising too high they can lower it. So don't worry...This is why there is so much monitoring.
I am an infertility nurse and I work in a major IVF facility. I am willing to answer questions and give guidance, however, since I am not treating you, only your physician can give you the most accurate information.
