For those that POAS and got a BFP?

Post by jharris12 »

Hey ladies. To all of you that broke down and POAS before your official beta, what brand/kind of test did you use? And how many days past transfer were you? I am 11dp3dt, and got a BFN on a First Reponse digital test. Are there tests more sensitive than others?

I have heard that the digital is not as sensitive as the others. I bought clear blue that had two reg test and 1 free digital. My first test I took was 6dp5dt and got a faint line, 7dp5dt got a darker line, 8dp5dt got "pregnant" on the digital. now, at 10d5dt was my beta and it was very high (446) so that is why I was most likely getting + so soon.

I know that I read somewhere on the best test to use early, but I dont remember which one it was, I just know that I remember reading and hearing that the digital are not as sensitive, you need at least 25 or more HCG for it to read.

Good luck!

I tested early at 3dp5dt and got a faint line on a
dollar store test. They do work but to make sure I ordered
some sensitive test trips that the hospitals use, so I'll be testing again in
two more days.

I was wondering the same thing.
Found a website called Fertility Plus.
It lists everytype of HPT and its level.

Here is some that test at 25
Answer quick and simple
Clearblue easy
cvs cartridge and stick
ept +/-
First Response Early Result
target +/-

Interesteing ept is also listed under the 50...maybe that is the digital?

www.peeonastick.com gives the sensitivities of a lot of tests. Dollar store tests as well as the 'internet cheapies' (the ones you can buy at the early hpt web page) tend to be the most sensitive. I've heard the new First Response Early Result "gold" is very sensitive as well and is also digital so there's no guess work. I personally use the internet cheapies and have found they've been the most sensitive, but you do have to order them online and it takes a few days to get them.

I hope your beta brings you a positive outcome!

Thank you ladies for all your responses. I truly helped me alot. So I went out yesterday and bought non-digital tests. I peed in a cup this morning and then used a First Response Early Results test, and an E.P.T. +/- test. (yes, I actually used 2 tests this morning! But guess what, it was positive!! The First Response was much clearer, but it was positive in both! I'm 12dp3dt, so I'm pretty sure it's right! Thank you all again. And that peeonastick.com was very helpful suzhan! And yes babyloves, the First Response was great! Thanks again ladies!

How are you feeling? Any symptoms, sore boobs, cramping etc?
So happy and excited for you. Did you do a 3 or 5 day transfer?

Thank you ndgo, onemorebaby, suzhan, kimmysq, and My2LnT!!!

kimmysq, I'm actually not feeling any symptoms at all, which is part of the reason I broke down and decided to POAS in the first place! A few days after ET, I had a little cramping. I've been a little tired, but my boobs are only sore when you mash on them, no m/s. I'm 12dp3dt.

Thank you again for all the congrats and support. It means so much when you are going through something like this!!
