Anyone from NY?

Post by alreadyblessed »

I'm 5wks2d pg and I have seen so many ladies on this board with so many wonderful stories. I was just wondering if any of you lived in NY or on Long Island. It would be fun to chat about different area hospitals, and places to shop for our little bundles of joy. We may even have the same doc. Just wondering . :D

Hi amysbabies and Rosario~ I'm in Seaford Long Island. Did my IVF at Northshore Manhasset.
Amy~ I got married in Douglaston, at the Douglaston manor, and we had an apt. right off union tpke and commonwealth in Glen Oaks. Anmyways, get some much needed rest! I'll be waiting and watching for your next cycle knowing that it will be "the one"!!

Rosario~ My hubby is from Greenpoint, and works in BK. Where did you go for your IVF? My first one was is BK at a place called GENESIS. They were just over the Verezanno bridge. They were wonderful.

Alreadyblessed-we are actually living in Glen Oaks now, same co-ops as you guys I guess.

We aren't pregnant yet, just found out 1st cycle failed 8( but we are going to keep trying. I was interested to hear your thoughts about North Shore. We just finished our first cycle at Columbia. Just trying to get feedback from others about their experiences at different facilities, as I have heard that where you are getting treated makes a big difference. What about you other ladies-where are you going for treatment and have you been happy so far?

Good luck!!!!

jandc33~ Wow you're in Glen Oaks. My DH and I lived there for many years. We were right off of union tpke. and 247 st in the co-ops. We really liked it there. My mom still lives off little neck pkwy up the block from the childrens farm. As far as Northshore goes, I had my last IVF in Brooklyn at a place called Genesis. They were very thorough, and walked you through the process with baby steps. They spent alot of time answering questions after the examination , and during all the visits. Northshore has a good reputation, but it's more like an in and out. They don't take as much time to sit down and talk to you. It seems more rushed and less personal. If I was near Brooklyn, I definitely would have gone back to Genesis again. No matter where you decide to do your next IVF, I wish you much luck!!!!!! :D

Welcome Liz~~ I grew up in Brooklyn..I always miss it ! I'm currently taking a break from IVF but if I decide to change clinics I will have to keep Mineola in mind~ Are they very crowded and crazy in the mornings when you go for bloodwork and sonos?

only on Monday's and Friday's since they stopped doing the "weekend starts" as they put it which means they don't tell women to come in on day 3 of their periods if it falls on a weekend. They wanted to do my next u/s this monday but there where no appointments for us.....lol. The wait isn't too bad though, even when it is crowded. What part of brooklyn are you from?

Anyone have success after 4 failed ivfs

Post by NY4thtry »

I have just completed my 4th failed IVF. The first i had a chemical the rest were BFNs despite goodlooking embryos. We did PGD first 2 cycles and more than 50% of the embryos were good.

I am in the process of trying to decide whether to try again with the same Drs or switch. We just want to have our own baby so badly. DH has no family and my parents have no grandchildren. I am not ready to go to donor egg yet..

It would just be great for my PMA if could hear some success stories.. and what you may have done differently to achieve success in the end. Thanks in advance.. I am really strugling
Me 43 dh 65
6 cycles 3 chemicals
13+ banking cycles. 2 failed transfers to Surro
12/9 transfer 2 hatching blasts to surro beta 12/ 15
