Hi all

Just wanted to say that I had my 20 weeks scan yesterday and everything looked good. Hooray! They also told me that they were 70% sure it was a girl - so I am thinking that is near enough to be thinking of her as a girl?! How confusing - I guess I'll still have to think of boy and girl names just to be sure I have a name when she arrives!

Karen - glad to hear your feeling better and confident. Sounds like an excellent plan having until mid Sept off - in fact there's not much time then till Dec so maybe best to just relax until then!

Love Vicky

Vicky,
CONGRATULATIONS!! I would say if they thought it was a girl at 20 weeks, it is pretty definate (!?). It is usually very apparent when it is a boy. I guess you do always here the stories of thinking it is one things, and then when the baby is born...suprise!
You must be so thrilled and relieved to make it to 20 weeks. Every week I breath a little sigh of relief.
Hope everyone else is great.
All good here, going to meet a high risk specialist in Denver this week. We are planning on delivering there. Our hospital is not equipped to handle any high risk situation so I dont think I will deliver the twins here unless I have to (!).

Hi all

Thanks Sara - I'm really excited! I hope you have a good mtg with the specialist at the hospital you will give birth in. Good to meet them early and see what they are like.

I thought I would start a due date list but I don't know anyone's due date so I have added names and genders (apologies if I have missed anyone off) - if you would like me to add in your due date just let me know. I hope eveyone's okay with this I though it would be nice as we get closer to see who's coming up next for birth etc so we can wish each other luck!

Karen - Twin Girls - Due
Sara - Twin Girls -
Tamara - Triplets - 2 boys, girl - Due
Heather - Boy - Due
Jennie
Vicky - Girl - Due - 21st December 2008

Hi Ladies,

I hope that you all are doing well... :D We are doing great on this end. We went to see my high risk doctor on yesterday. My cervical length increased to 3 cm. since being on bed rest. That was awesome news. The twins looked great. Baby A was 13 oz. and Baby B was 15 oz. Both heartbeats were great and there fluid looked great too. I will see my OB next week.

Sara, good luck with your visit with the Specialist. Please let us know how your visit goes.

Vickyp, congratulations on your little girl. The due date sggestions is a great idea. We are due December 15th. My Doc continues to say we will most likely deliver before that though. As I understand it, on average mutiples come about 4 weeks earlier.

Have a wonderful day Ladies!!! :D

Hi Ladies
Glad to hear everyone is doign well. We are approaching 23 weeks this week and all is going well. I travel a lot for work and did a road trip this week and had some horrible swelling and pains in my legs. I thik my travel schedule will be short lived. We go to the Dr next week and will discus it with him then. Is anyone else having that problem?

My due date is 12/9 and it's a boy!

Hi Jennie,

I have not experienced any swelling. I do look for it everyday though. The bed rest is probably helping tremendously with that. I hope that your swelling gets better. Take it easy.

Hi everyone!
Sounds like a lot of us are due Dec 15! My due date too, although it sounds like it will be more like Nov 17, 36 weeks. I loved the specialist we saw in Denver and I plan to use her for delivery. I will still see my OB every week for cervical checks, and I will go to Denver once a month to establish more of a relationship with her.
She seemed very open to delivering twins vaginally if possible and she said she would take my cerclage out at 37 weeks if I can make it that long. Exciting!
I havent had a lot of swelling. I think I have round ligament pain, but it is bearable. I am having some trouble waking up at 1 and not being able to go back to sleep. Bummer!

Hi Guys

Just a quick update of the dates - I can't believe how many are due on the 15th Dec (but obviously some will be earlier).

Karen - Twin Girls - Due 15th Dec (but expected possibly up to 4wks earlier)
Sara - Twin Girls - Due I5th Dec - but thought more likely 17th Nov)
Jennie - Boy - 9th Dec
Heather - Boy - Due 15th Dec
Vicky - Girl - Due - 21st December 2008
Tamara - Triplets - 2 boys, girl - Due

I have put Karen and Sara at the top as it sounds likely that they will be first so we need to ready in Nov with the Good Wishes!

Sorry no personals in this one I will pop in again later. Love VIcky.

Thanks for the list Vicky. :D

Sara, I am glad you enjoyed your visit with your Dr. It is always wonderful to have a good relationship with your doc. You mentioned waking up at 1AM. I seem to have restless nights. My legs hurt at night and I toss and turn all night looking for a comfortable spot. My heartburn just got worst a couple of days ago...then, I feel my little ones moving down there and forget about all the discomfort until I have another episode. Then the cycle repeats itself.

How is everyone else feeling?

Hi Ladies
I sure hope everyone is feeling great!!! I can say I certainly am starting to feel pregnant. My belly is getting bigger and the baby is moving a lot more. I'm having a hard time staying out of the store buying things!! Our furniture has arrived and I ordered the bedding. Our little guys now has enough clothes for sometime. I am a planner and with the baby due near Christmas I am already making lists of gifts to buy for family and friends as I have to have it done! My due date is 12/9 but I have had spinal surgery so we arent sure how my back will be towards the end. I want everything done by the end of October. UGH!!!! My husband thinks I'm crazy but it's just me. I'm still having issues with swelling from sitting. I see the Dr on Friday and we wll discuss that and if I am having a c-section or vaginal birth due to my back. Anyone else out there planning a c-section????

Have a wonderful day!

Im with ya on the planning. I am also starting to think about how much I can get done by Halloween. I am not planning a C section, but know that it is a possibility. I am really hoping to not have one, as recovering from surgery souonds exhausting after all this!
Both my other kids bdays are right before Christmas so I guess this holiday it will be "no rest for the weary!:"
Other than that, all is well. I am 23 weeks on Monday and cant help thinking "one more week til babies are viable..." . One more milestone in this looong process of ivf!

Jennie,

I just started buying for the little ones. Since I am on bed rest, I can not get out to do the physical shopping that I would love to do. I have been looking on the net and finally decided on a co-spleeper and recliner this week-co-sleeper for the babies and the recliner for Momma. :D They both arrived yesterday. I am sure that we will get things through showers, but we are going to go ahead and get the larger items and some smaller neccessities. We are still working on the room for the babies. We should be ready to paint within the next 2 weeks. The convertible crib or cribs will be ordered next week. We haven't decied on whether we really need 2 cribs immediately. I may just order 1 for the time being.

As far as having a c-section-We are planning one. I had some fibroids removed several years ago, so I am very familiar with the procedure and recovery time. I am sure that it will be an interesting and painful time, but a very rewarding one too. As I remember that time, as each day passed so did the discomfort. And during that time I had no incentive to do anything other than relax and dwell on the discomfort. My hubby will be here along with my parents and my mom's twin to help with the babies. The help will be so needed when the babies get here. So, for right now we have a plan in place to accommodate a c-section... :P There are so many things that change the plan, and we will just adjust as need be.

Hello Ladies
I certainly hope everyone is feeling well.

Karen- We did find out Friday we will be having a c-section. The Dr wants me to try and get to 39 weeks if possible. That would mean delivery the first week of Dec. All else is going well. I have started to get this sharp pain in my vagina when I stand up- the Dr said that it is from the ligaments stretching. OUCH is all I can say- It takes my breath away sometimes. The little guy is starting to lick and move a ton more. My husband was fianlly able to feel him move on Wednesday which was so exciting. Now he is even more protective :D

We are in need of a rocker/glider. My husband and I are both very tall so it's tough to find one that supports us well enough..

I hope you are hanging in there with the bedrest. I know it must be tough but certainly well worth it.

Have a great week
Jen
