iFrandance- I share your feelings. I am finding this whole infertility situation very frustrating and stressful. The RE keeps telling me there's no reason why we can't conceive but after failed IUI's and one failed IVF, I'm being to think that it is not meant to be. My DH thinks that the doctors are quacks and just want our $$$$. For both my cycles, I have heardly ever seen my RE. She didn't even perform my first retrieval. I simply meet with her when it didn't work. Her answer was to simply increase my dosage of lupron and follistim. Hoping my 2nd cycle ends with better results than the first or I think my DH will " blow a gasket"

Karrie- Did you have your ER yet?

Wishing you all luck.
Nichole

Hi Nichole,

Just back from ER about an hour ago and would you believe the doc missed one of the ovaries and i had to put out again for a second retrieval.

Anyway they got 8 eggs out of 29 follies, i thought i would get more but i am just hoping and praying at least 2 fertilise.

Cross everything for me!!! :?

Karrie:

I had my retrevial this morning and get 12 eggs. That was much better than the 4 last cycle. I am anxious to find out how many were mature and fertilized considering that only one was mature last cycle and didn't fertilize. We are doing ICSI for all the eggs.

Did you hear how many of yours fertilized and how they were growing. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Do you know when your ET is?

Karrie:

I hope that all went well with your transfer. I heard from the lab and only 5 of my eggs were mature and 3 fertilized as of today. My ET is scheduled for Monday. The lab said they would check the other two tomorrow to see if they fertilized and then call me with a time for the transfer and let me know how they were growing. I was hoping that more would be mature and fertilize!!!

I was supposed to have 2 transferred but don't know if they will transfer all three. Should know tomorrow.

Hey Nichole,

How did the transfer go, how many did you get, I hope you are resting now and taking it easy, its all a bit surreal, dont you think.

The egg quality was excellent so really pleased about that and they put 5 on ice but they were only at 2 cell and 4 cell divide. I wish they could have waited a bit longer!!! What cell stage were yours at?

Got everything crossed for both of us, keep me posted as to how you are doing.

Karrie:

Just got back from ET and only transferred two as the third one that had fertilized didn't divide. I was alittle disappointed by that. The two that we did transfer were an 8 cell and a 5 cell. I wish that there had been some left to freeze. The ET kinda hurt as My RE had to stablize my cervix and there was an obstruction blocking access to uterus. However, RE was able to get the embies in there and saw them on the ultrasound screen. My beta is 8/8. When is your beta?

I agree that it is surreal.

I am off to lay down as I am alittle sore and emotionally drained.I will also be keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us.

Chris:

Thanks for the sticky vibes!!!! This 2WW wait killing me. Although I also had to endure the 2WW with IUI, this time with IVF is worse.

I had 3 failed IUIs while on Follistim. In my first cycle of IVF, they only retreived 4 eggs and only one was mature and didn't fertilize. The results this time were alittle better as I stated in a prior post.

Both cycles, it took an extra 2 weeks to get my levels down and ovaries suppressed. This past cycle I had to have a cyst aspirated. I was on BC for over 30 days and 20 units of lurpon for 30 days before I started stims. What meds were you taking?

Wishing you a successful cycle!! :) Have you began yet?

Nicky,
I am currenlty on BCP's. Take the last one on the 6th. This is my first cycle doing BCP's and no Lupron. A couple of days after AF I will do b/w and u/s. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be OK, I will then do Follistim and Menopure. they will then throw in Ganerilix a few days after stimming. Fun all those shots. I just want to make it to ER this time.

So are you going to POAS? When is your Beta?

Chris:

I hope that everything goes well with your b/w and u/s.

My beta is Friday morning and I'm freaking out. I cannot decide whether I want to POAS or just wait for the Beta. If I leaning towards POAS tomorrow and thursday since that would be 9dp3dt and 10dp3dt. Cannot decide whether I would like to be let down before the actual Beta so that it would not be as upsetting if it is a BFN. Also afraid of a false positive.

I'll keep you posted.

Hey Chris and Karrie:

Well, I broke down and did a HPT at 6:00 am this morning and got a BFN. Then I got to work and my period had started. I am not very hopeful that my Beta tomorrow will be positive. I thought that I would be more upset than I am. I think that I was kinda expecting a BFN given the way my body has felt during the 2WW. I'm sure that it will really hit me tomorrow after the Beta test. Think that I probably will take a few months off and give my body a break.

Karrie: Have you had your beta yet? If you haven't yet, then I am wishing you a BFP. :D

Chris: Good luck with this cycle. Also wishing you a BFP. :D

possible solution

Post by aniehenke »

I don't know any of the acronyms for the blog, but I hope to have some information that may help someone. I have have been battling unexplained infertility for a couple years after having a very easy pregnancy resulting in the birth of my son almost 4 years ago at the age of 35. After his birth I had one miscarriage. A year and a half ago I started taking all the usual fertility injections and suppositories and had one IUI, but nothing worked. Then last May when I heard about the drug, Estradiol. I travelled out of my home state to get the protocol for treatment using Estradiol (very, VERY low dose) so my doctor could administer it for me. He had never heard of using the drug in this way at that dose. The doctor I went to visit told me I was starting to ovulate the last day of my period and that Estradiol would keep my body from ovulating until I was supposed to. Then I was to do homework. Well it took six months (since last May) and my husband and I did homework and I have now been pregnant for four weeks. Now, of course, I'm a nervous wreck because I don't want to lose the fetus. I am about a month along and am using the Cronine. Hope that helps someone. I wish I had known about it a while ago.

Hi,
What is the quality of the eggs and quality of the sperm? Also I think you may need to try acupuncture that will relax you. It's important information. I added this in my website. We been trying to have kids for 7 years. been through a lot.

Thanks,
Kuny
