1st BETA only 6 and I'm 11dp3dt-HELP!

I got my first BETA today, which the nurse explained was "low positive" and that the doc wants me to continue meds and come back to check again on Wednesday. Do I have any hope of this pregnancy continuing? All the posts I've seen have first-time BETA numbers between 100-300![/b]

hang in there tortillachip! I've heard of women with very low betas going on to have normal pregnancies. Hold on until tomorrow. We'll be praying for you!

Hi Tortillachip,

Provided your level doubles it can be a viable pregnancy. My first IVF I had the same with a 7. Mine did not double and that night I miscarried. The only good outcome I had was that because it happened so soon and I didn't have a d&c I was able to start my next cycle sooner.

Think positive ... I hope your beta doubles!

BETA number 2 went dow. Doc said it was a chemical pregnancy and I miscarried early. SAD!!!!!!

Sorry to hear that. That outcome was almost certain. But I did not want to say that until it was official.

About 1/4 to 1/3 of pregnancies are lost, most of those losses are very early on. In natural pregnancies, pregnancies and losses like yours would go unnoticed, except maybe the period would be just a little late.

In IVF we watch carefully for them, so we notice them.

Thanks for not saying that earlier Ghost, I don't think I could have handled it but was prepared for a BFN. Hopefully the second time will take.

tortillachip~ So sorry on your very sad news. My prayers are with you. The good news is that you can start another cycle soon if you are up to it, and also, you now know that you can get pregnant. A lot of women never get that BFP, so that's a great thing. Stay strong sweetie! God bless.
