Hello everyone, (or 'ay oop me dooks' (ay up, my ducks) as they say in my parts!)
Sorry for going AWOL, but I'm so busy at work I just haven't had a moment and I couldn't face turning on the PC at the weekend. I was up at 5:30 to get to work today and I'm still at work (it's now 6pm). I am desperately trying to do the work of 5 people as I'm doing my boss's job as well as mine and we were trying to recruit 3 others anyway as we had so much on, and the pressure's on as I need to sort out the continuity before I go on maternity Aaaaaagggggghhhhhhhh
Anyhow, had to drop in for a quick chat and find out how everyone's doing.
Jenn - congrats on the boy - very exciting. Cameron's a lovely name - quite Scottish sounding I think.
T's top tip today!
If you want to try sleeping on your front, try the following: take 2 big flat cushions from your sofa/settee/couch/whatever the american/canadian word is for the thing you shlomp on to watch tv. Put these on the bed towards the bottom and use these under your hips and legs (not on top of each other, put one under your hips/thighs and the other under the rest of your legs). Let your belly and boobs go down to bed level (ie lower than the cushions) Put a small cushion under your chest and shoulders, above the boobs (That's tricky as it sometimes makes sore boobs - need to experiment with cushion sizes and positioning). Put your head on 1/2 pillows or whatever is comfortable. Don't know if it will work for you, but I managed to fall asleep like this one time. It's a DIY version of my PG bed idea!
Chelly - hope you managed to get a comfy bra - I meant to say that if you get fitted by a trained bra-fitter (in all our major bra stores), they should fit it so there is a bit of room for growth.
Nikki - If you want to have a C name that's a bit like Kale, you could go for Callum, and then call him Kale for short! I think I'll have to have a go at singing to the baby. I'm in a choir but we've stopped for summer - restarting in September - wonder what baby will make of being serenaded every Monday! Thanks for ticker info - I'll try when I have a mo!
Nurseries - my current idea is British country side theme - green hills with trees and cows/sheep/pigs - maybe a farmer and tractor or something. Sky and clouds on ceiling. May need a bit of planning!
What is registering? We don't have that here. We don't really have baby showers much either. None of my friends did. Most people buy a present after the baby is born (mostly toys).
As for me, my ribs are still giving me a lot of pain. It feels like someone has wedged a knife up the inside of my rib cage. I went to the doctor's last week (just a walk-in centre, as I was in London and my Doc's in Nottingham) and they said it felt like it was my intestine. I have irritable bowel syndrome, so it could be that baby is squashing sore bowel. Ow.

Today pain is all round ribs back and front, so I'm thinking it's growing pains too. But at least I have no other symptoms, so it's not something nasty.
Well, I'd better go, I'm desperate for a wee (!) and I really should go home.
I may be a bit sporadic in my responses this week. Stay well.
