Michael-- The fact of doubling in 48hrs is not entirely true. It really is that it should double in 48-72 hours. My clinic says it needs to increase by 1.7 every 48 hrs. My second beta did not double, but did meet these standards. According to this, you should be at 487, so you are still under, but it is going up, so I would still have hope. I had a chemical pregnancy my 2nd try and my beta went down. This time after my second beta it rose fast, I am now just under 12 weeks! GOOD LUCK! I have read many people that still have viable pregancies with numbers that don't double.

michael55~ with my first IVF in 2004 (from which I have a lovely DD) ,my first beta was 201 and the next was 291. I was a nervous wreck. Don't panick. Your #'s are good. See what your next beta is, and I'm sure you will have some good news.

The numbers you messaged to me a few days ago were different, 116 and 395?

I've seen many cases where the hCG did not double, and rarely where it dropped, and the pregnancy still went on to a live birth. We suspect that some of the more extreme cases may have been losses of one gestation in an early multiple pregnancy, but that's just a guess. In any case, it happens all the time.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

I know it is hard to be calm, but this can happen and turn out OK. My second beta doubled, but my 3rd and 4th did not. I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and our baby looks perfect so far. My numbers were 92.3, 340, 560, and 1069. Good luck!
