TMI question abt prog. supp.

Post by AMAZU »

Hi Ladies,
I was told by my dr. to shift to prog. supp after my first positive beta. But even if I lie down inserting it( really inside) for 1- 2 hrs or the whole night, whenever I get up and walk around or go to pee, it seems the medicine is coming out like white chalky paste ( sorry TMI). I am getting concerned whether I am getting enough dose of prog. Any advice will be appreciated.

It is very normal. My nurse warned me ahead of time that it will look like phoam coming out about 2-3 hours later. I have to scrape it off my pad because the pad wont absorb it and if I am at work trying to scrap it off, its horrible when it shoots onto the floor!!!!!

The things we do :P

Same thing. I had to switch to those because the shots I was getting an allergic reaction to. I just wore a pad all day and night until I could get off of them. It was nasty. I had to do it 3 times a day which was horrible.

i am 5 weeks and am having the same thing. I put the meds in twice a day. At night I don't have a problem too much. Probably because I am laying down. My morning dose brings the gross discharge. I too am worried that I am not getting enough meds or that something is wrong.

Hi

Don't worry. My doc told me as long as it stays in there for 40 minutes you will have absorbed all the progesterone you need from that dose!

Wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy!

Hi ladies - I've been using the Crinone gel this entire cycle, but not having as much discharge as others. Are you using something different? I have a little discharge every 3-4 days, but it's brief and not too much. My RE also told me the medication is obsorbed within about 20 minutes so not to worry when some comes out.

babyloves - I've also gained quite a bit of weight during my last 2 IVF cycles, about 10lbs. I think I've gained 5lbs in the past 3 weeks, which I think is horrible. I think part of it is the medication/hormes and the other part is I have such bad m/s that I'm eating all of the time to try and feel better and I haven't worked out the entire 9 weeks due to the m/s. I guess the only suggestion I have is try to eat healthier and get some sort of exercise 5 days a week, if you can. Other than that, our bodies are just doing what they're meant to do and our little beans are growing strong :)

I am on Endometrin, it looks like a pill, but it is a suppie. Once you put it in your CM and fluids break it down and I think that is why mine is chalky & foamy coming out. Once I had a bout of extra CM and I had to cough and half of it came back out, I had to go to the potty and remove it from the undies and I just tossed it.

I also had the same issue. But typically the amount prescribed vaginally is going to be more than the amt prescribed for the shot because of that. They know that some of it is going to come back out. Just like if you use yeast infection medicine. It is a messy job and I was so excited when I put my last one in. Good luck!
