Embrassing but...

Post by crescendo97 »

Ok ladies, I'm about to hit the magical 12 week mark on Tues. Going to for NT scan on that day as weel. However, my question to you guys were any of you scared to have sex after first trimester? I'm totally terrified something is going to go wrong? I guess because four years ago when I was pregnant me and hubby had sex and two days later I had a m/c. I know the doctor will probably say that having sex will not cause m/c but did any experience this fear? If so how in the world did you get past it? I'm 11 weeks and 5days pregnant with twins

Well, my OB/GYN didn't give me the approval of having sex until I was in my 36th week. I ain't kidding you. Any time before that, he was afraid I would initiate pre-term labor and that's not what he wanted. So my husband and I decided to follow doctor's order. Ask your doctor.

My husband is so understanding. He knows that we still won't be able to have sex until I heal up. We're enjoying our son ...

crescendo97 - I'm still in my first trimester and have been paranoid this entire time about having sex. My RE gave us the go after our first 6 1/2 week u/s and said go at it, no restrictions. I have several friends/family with children and most of them wanted sex all of the time during their 2nd trimester, so hopefully you'll get over the fear. I would also ask your OB, but both my RE and OB have said sex is definitely not an issue. Good luck!

Talk to your OB if you are not at risk, then go for it and don't worry. I was worried at first but now it is totally fine. Unless there is a medical reason to not do it, you should be fine. Congratulations!
