Michelle,
Just seen your post re your pup. Ours is a chocolate lab called Ruby and we pick her up this Sat. I can't wait!!
It's a great feeling to know that she will be a new addition to our familiy, one that cannot be taken away.
It was lovely to hear that you wouldn't be without your dog. I did have slight reservations about getting a puppy so soon after my 2nd m/c but my DH made me go to see Ruby and that was it!!
I am so excited for you....it is the best thing to have happened to us so far! Woody is completely gorgeous, but he really has that crazy puppy mode and takes some looking after!
I love the name Ruby - and a brown lab how stunning!
Labs are just so sweet and so loyal, he is a bit bitey right now, but most of the time he just licks. One thing I must tell you (though I'm sure you know) they chew things like crazy when they are puppies. He has a crate in our kitchen but when we leave him (which hasn't been for more than 3 hours yet) we leave him to roam around the kitchen, anyway he has chewed the wall, the patio doors, the washing machine and anything he can get his little choppers into. We have tried clove oil, which apparently should deter then, but I must say Woody rather likes the taste!
I can't wait to hear all about her on Saturday. Where are you getting her from? How old will she be? Woody is almost 4 months and growing by the day!
I promise you won't regret it (just don't leave your shoes or handbags on the floor) - I can't wait to get home from work to see him, fortunately dh works from home.
Love, Miche x
Our darling son Jake was born in October 2004 on our 3rd IVF attempt. I have PCOS. We're now trying again naturally, before embarking on our next FET IVF possibly late 2005... so watch this space!!!
We are getting Ruby from a breeder and she will be 8 weeks old. She is the smallest in the litter (2 girls, 8 boys) but she is quite a size already, so having their smallest one is probably a good thing!
We have put a stairgate up between our kitchen and utility room, the idea being that she says in the utility while we are out and doesn't destroy the kitchen. My DH has even made a screen to go in front of our washing machine and tumble dryer to stop her chewing them too! I was thinking that maybe he was being a little over cautious with this but having read your email, I am glad now!!
What colour lab is Woody? How long did the toilet training take?!
I have also just read your other email. It's sooo hard to stay positive isn't it? All I can say is that I never had any pregnancy symptoms on both occassions that I tested positive, I really think it is just too early. On all 3 attempts I have really struggled to stay positive towards the end and looking back, I wonder if this kind of depressed, emotional state may sometimes be a good sign?!
Hello my name is jennifer and im new to site.I'v just finished treatment at st marys in manchester and am now on two week wait for our pregnancy test. This will be our second attempt. The first having failed and frozen embryos not surviving.I'v gone further this time than last time but i can't help worrying all the time!!!we have just 5 days to go until the preg test and it is the longest wait of our lifes!!!I'v been having period cramps throuout and am convinced at every visit to loo that that will be the end of it but so far so good.today though i'v not had any cramps but have had a browny discharge only slight can anyone assure me it's not bad news!!!So worried and excited.Hope all of you out there have pregnancys as it should be.
Welcome to the site. You'll find it invaluble, everyone here is so friendly and knows exactly what your going through. You can guarantee that someone will be able to answer any questions you have!
I am also on the 2ww and test on Monday.
You'd be better posting on the thread titles January Cycle Buddies as most of us there are on the 2ww or nearly there.
Good luck for your test date

Welcome to the site. You will find lots of support on this board and information when you need it.
The brownish discharge could be from one or both of the embies embedding. I had that but I can't remember when after ET I had it. I am now 21 weeks pg so be positive and good luck with your test.
Re. Toilet training I am sorry to tell you that we are still working on it. He has definitely got better and now only sometimes wees inside (saves his poops for outside). We have been trying to train him with puppy pads - these are just pads you put on the floor, which are scented and are supposed to make the pups pee there - this probably works about 60% of the time so I guess he is improving. But you really do need to be patient. Sounds like your dh is very wise and organised about setting-up his home - Woody sleeps in a crate, which we close at night. Also, get him loads of chew toys.
When we went to collect Woody it was really emotional, he was wimpering and crying nearly all the way home (about and hour and a half drive) so be prepared as it can break your heart, she will be leaving her family and will not know what is happening. Also, DH drove while Woody sat on my lap and I took a towel just in case he had an accident or got car sick (fortunately neither happened).
Also, the first few nights she will cry in the night and the hardest thing is not going in to comfort her, but we didn't and after about 4 nights it stopped and we don't hear a peep from him until we wake him up in the morning.
Re. treatment, It is so hard to stay positive but I'm almost there now. I'm so anxious I'm going to start bleeding before Friday, still I know now that what will be, will be. Sorry to ask, but I'm not sure of your history, you had 2 positives, did they work out? Are you currently having a treatment?
Jennifer, I totally know what you mean about this being the longest wait ever, this is definitely the worst bit in my opinion - anyway I'm wishing you all the luck and stay positive (easy to say I know!)
Dawn, hope you are feeling really well and loads of luck to you too for Monday.
Dagny, happy to hear that you are feeling swell, it is so nice that you still write to us on this side.

The puppy pads sound like a good idea, I think I will def have to go shopping for some of those! I didn't realise that the toilet training would take so long. My sister told me that you could get puppy nappies but I think she must be pulling my leg!
I have just bought Ruby's collar tag, a silver loveheart, really cute!
My history is that we have been TTC for nearly 4 years and last yr did 3 ICSI treatments, the last 2 were + but I m/c both and now know that both babies had chromosome problems. We go for our follow up on Feb 13th. We have unexplained but they do ICSI because my eggs have always had hardish shells and as I don't get loads of eggs they say it's safer to do ICSI than risk non-fertilization. I go to the ARGC.
Did you ever get to find out why you had your m/c, I assume that you know the cause of your fertility problems?
Hi Rach
I've been thinking about you loads and am dying to hear how little Ruby is....did you get any sleep last night? I bet she is gorgeous....I was so pathetic when we got Woody I couldn't stop taking photos - are you as mad?
Anyway let me know how it is going.

Hi Michelle,
You can tell that Ruby has been keeping me busy because I haven't been on the boards!!
She is fine, she cried for the first 3 nights and so we both got up each night to calm her down!! We were both so tired last week!
Anyway, she is now building up her confidence more and as my mum says, she is a girl with a lot of spirit! She put two holes in my mum's jumper on Friday when my parents puppy sat for us!
She chews everything, especially shoelaces, our coffee table legs and anyones toes, if she can get at them. In fact she has got quite a bite on her and has drawn blood on my DH!
Does Woody do this? How do you stop him?? Ruby doesn't understand the word 'no' yet!
