Jenny~ That's great news! Congrats!!!! I wasn't freaking out initially, b/c the doc said that my uterus has a strong tilt and it could just be the angle. The one nurse called me with my betas 39,107 she said that was GREAT. Then when I told her no h/b, she said that I should be able to see a h/b with those beta levels. She said "I'm so sorry". I cried for the next hour and then another nurse called me back to tell me that "everything looks great. The #s are great, and if the doc was really that concerned he would have sent me downstairs to radiology". I wound up changing my appt. to next Monday. Now I only have to wait 5 days. This is truly torturous!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Alreadyblesses - Thank God ! You finally posted your beta no. I was going crazy with different thoughts and worries. Girl, that is great. Your baby is surely doing great. I told you keep faith. Moreover as others have told the machine has to be really advanced to get the HB at such early stage.

Jennywit - Don't worry! When I can survive for so long with the support of you ladies, I think you girls will also do fine! Weekened are the fastest to pass by without your noticing. So if you see you have only 2 days to wait. :D

Thanks for your good wishes and I will update you guys abt my u/s when I come back from dr.

AMAZU~ Thanks for the positive reinforcement. You are wonderful! I can hardly wait until your u/s tomorrow!!!!!! You must be sooo ready. You have waited so long. I know you are going to have some wonderful news for us!!!!

babyloves~ you ladies are truly a wonderful support system. I have been so sad on and off (I'm sure the hormones are not helping much), and everytime I read your posts I feel so much better. It's like I rely on you guys more than the nurses. They can truly make you bonkers!

Hi Babyloves - I read your post abt the pg book but forgot abt answering it. Though I have been pg before but if everything goes well this time I will be first time mommy like you. The name of the book that I have is called" your pg week by week " by Dr Glade B. Curtis and Judith Schuler. Hope you will like it.

I missed one day and so much has happened!!

Already blessed - If you remember my scanning schedule, I had my first scan @ 6weeks2days, it was when the sac was seen, and then I was told to see the doc approx after 10 days. And thankfully, the hearbeat could be detected only @ 7weeks5days and my uterus is not tilted. So in normal cases too, its sometimes difficult to detect the heartbeat which doesn't mean there is something wrong. Great to hear that you are staying strong and we have such wonderful support group here!!! Just one more day and you will surely hear the hb....:) And also my first beta was 85 and then 154!!

Amazu - My wishes for you for your first u/s on Friday. Can't wait to hear the good news and the numbers....my prediction is triplets for you!!

Babyloves - I guess you also go for u/s on Friday, so sending you many wishes across!! I know I am going to hear abt multiples hanging in there. :) And then you will definitely be able to celebrate the outcome.

Jenny - My wishes for your next u/s on Monday. I just believe everything is great and fine.

At my end things are at snail's pace. 29th seems too far but the consolation tht I am nearing the end of danger period comforts me to a great extent. I read somewhere that now everytime i eat something sweet, the little one will open its mouth and tingle its finger. I just can't help smilin whenever I have something sweet in my mouth.

I just wanted to know, how do you guys eat egg? before getting pregnant I was only eating the white part of it, well, yes I am overweight!! So wat do now, since the yellow part contains a lot of protein and the little one needs a lot of it right now???

Hugs to all

Hi Ladies,
The mystery is finally solved and all your guesses came to be wrong. It is singleton with HB 143bpm. I am grateful to God for giving atleast one but still I am sad as if I have lost the other one. I had also somehow raised my expectation and thought that this time I will have the compensation for last miscarriage and have two. But my dh seems to be happy. He thinks to have atleast one but healthy baby is better than more complications after what we have faced last year with miscarriage and then so many complications and surgeries. Moreover he thinks since I am skinny it would have been diffficult for me to have twins and may end up in high risk. He is trying to cheer me up and I think I will get over soon . My next appt is on 28th. After that my dr wants me to go for nuchal test to fetal speacialist and said mostly they would be doing my u/s as she will be keeping me for high risk till 24th week. And if my baby and myself are fine then she will take over. She saw some cysts in my ovaries as they are still enlarged. But she said she is not concerned as they will be shrinking in the next 2 weeks and this happens with the fertility drugs that we are given.
Hows everybody doing? I will be going for my lunch as I returned from my ob/gyn just now and wanted to update you guys. Babyloves - Goodluck for your u/s and hope you enjoy seeing your babies Hb throbbing. Don't get emotional. My u/s tech was making so many faces that I was getting worried but then she said that she is just measuring my ovaries and stuff and she hasn't even looked at my sac. Later she told me abt having one sac and one baby. Thanx to everyone for your good wishes!

Amazu: that's great news about the super hb!! You should be pleased just like ur DH. Your right..twins carry more of a risk and after what u've been thru..it's probably what God has decided :D I wish i have good news tomm too...i'm getting so anxious again the closer its getting, plus i feel like my heart is racing at times...do any of u feel that?
Thanks for the book suggestion BTW! Somebody told me that "belly laughs" by jenny mccarthy was a funny pg book..

Sonu: yolks have about 300 mg of cholesterol, enuf for the entire day, but now that ur pregnant, we need about 300 extra calories for the baby, and so i think it's prefectly fine to eat the yolk esp if you don't have cholesterol issues. I didn't use to eat the yolk either, but now i do :D

how is everyone else?

sonu911~ Thanks for reminding me about your 6w2d sono. Its stories like yours that make me realize that maybe it was just too early. I keep my faith in God and hang on to Mondays u/s. I know that I would have my answer then.

AMAZU~ CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you were hoping for multiples, but stay positive and focused on the most wonderful news of all. Your babies wonderful HB!!!!! I am soooooo happy for you! This is such an exciting time! True, that if you are tiny, carrying multiples could be dangerous, so this is your turn to sit back and relax, and enjoy all the wonder of your pregnancy! This is GREAT news! God Bless!!!

Babyloves~ yes, I am in the medical field, and I have on more than one occasion I have felt my pulse at a much faster rate than it normally is.No palpitations or anything, but just that fast heartrate.

already blessed: hey...i'm in the medical field too (MD)...thanks for letting me about ur fast pulse....i feel better that its not only me. I've read that the basal heart rate is normal in early pg as there are fluid shifts and volume expansion, etc...but i think i'll mention it tomm at my U/S b/c it's very noticeable to me and i have to go lie down. A physician will be present at my U/S, unfortunately not my regular RE - i haven't seen him since the mock transfer :o ...
