Hello Ladies

JHarris- How are you doing? I have been thinking about you and DH.

Renee- I think the success rate for IVF is about 30-35%. So at 40 I don't think 20% seems unreasonable. BUt don't think about that just try to stay relaxed, healthy and as stressfree as you can be. Also, I only say this cause I felt like frozen embies would be my only saviour but not many ladies actually get enough embryos to freeze unfortunatly. When I found out that I did not have any I was devasted. Now I think of frozens as a huge bonus and don't even count on getting any. I truly am not trying to be negative but I would hate for you to feel as lost as I was.
For this cycle I will be on menopur and follstim as well)). I will just have lupron added in the beginning of the cycle.
Oh and you can ask your clinic if the have any previous patients selling their leftover meds. You can save a ton of cash that way. I wished I had known that my first cycle as the second I called many ladies and their meds had expired and I could have used them the first time.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Renee - my husband is active duty air force and although we had to pay out of pocket for the ER/ET, we did most ultrasounds & bloodwork on base (unless it fell on a weekend) and I got all my prescriptions on base. This saved us several thousand dollars.

Is there any way your clinic can work with a base doctor to get your drugs at least?
Starting IVF/ICSI #1 and acupuncture.

JDC-CONGRATS. I am so happy for you.

Jharris-thinking about you. I am sure your beta will rise tomorrow. My DH had read somewhere that twin pregnancy can mess up betas and male factor can also do that.....diabetes sucks!

Renee-I hope you are able to get meds cheaper. I think some of it should be covered under military insurance. My DH was active duty when we started infertility workups and we had all workups covered....Good luck

To_have_fun-thank you for keeping up with everybody.

Val-Cant wait to hear how many you have growing!

Well my betas increased today,up to 201...so I am feeling a little better. I go back again on Friday. I stopped bleeding so that is a comfort as well. Hope everybody is doing well.

Jharris - I am so sorry your numbers dropped. Keep your PMA for your test tomorrow. I will be praying for you. I wish I could also give you lots of hugs. I really, really hope everything works out for you.

Welcome Renee, Toobee!!

Muggsey - Good luck with your appt. tomorrow.

Val- I think it is strange that you don't get an ultrasound for so long. Hope your doing well, how is your headache?

JDC- Congrats on the BFP on your POAS!! :D:D WOOHOO!!

hoping - Alright on your beta number!!

Sorry if I missed anyone, there are so many of us now.

Well, I went yesterday for b/w & u/s. They saw 6 follies on the right with the biggest 8mm. Only 3 on the left around the same size. I doubt they will be able to use those anyway. My E2 was 166 which wasn't as much as last cycle at this time. They kept everything the same and I go back in Friday.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Good evening ladies!

I couldn't post before as we went out to dinner with some friends.

hopinginpa~ That's wonderful news that your beta has gone up and more than doubled!! I'm really happy for you and I hope it just keeps doubling like that! good thing that the bleeding has stopped too.

turtles~ It sounds like you're doing well. Sometimes fewer follies is better and it's still early, I think you'll have more coming.

Renee~ I think your chances are a little higher than that though. All you can do is try and hope that nature will do its own thing and reward you with a BFP! I hope you get frosties but as Mztia said, al ot of women don't get frosties. I thought at first that it was kind of a given that we would all get some, but that's so not the case. I wish you luck and take this whole journey one step at a time as that will help you not get overwhelmed. And again, ask us all the questions you want.

Toobee~ WOW! That's great that you got 12 follies now. I think it's better that you don't have lead follies as that gives you more follies of a good size. As they grow, they'll grow together. If you have a lead one or two, than the smaller ones may not mature before it's time for retrieval. If they're not mature, they may not have an egg in it!
So, you can relax as you're doing great. The E2 numbers is for estrogen and measures how well your follies are growing. You want those # to increase but not too much to the point where you risk OHSS!

Rosario, alimoyni,TrueBeliever,Biddy~ How are you doing during your 2ww! Hope you're not going too crazy!

Muggsey~ I hope you get a good report tomorrow. Let us know. How are you doing with the injections?

kate21~ Any news on your BW? I don't think you do US, right? When are you leaving for Sweden? Hope you're doing well. Thinking about you!

Much Hope, Kas, Jenolina, Amanda, Hoping4, Shellbell~ I hope you are coming along well with your stims. Let us know about your progress.

I just keep on doing my injections and I'm totally in the dark as to what is going on down in there. I'm not sure if I should call my nurse and request an US or just wait until they schedule one. In a way, not knowing enables me to stay relaxed. And you have no idea how hard it is for me not to know...but that's part of my learning process of letting go :D
I keep telling myself that I can't change anything, that it's out of my hands and whatever happens, happens.

So, I'm sorry but I don't have anything to report. I feel that I'm getting a little full in my tummy, pulling and little cramps on and off.

We haven't heard from Ohbabybaby and I would love to know how you're doing.

I hope I didn't forget anybody between my 2 post today.

Much love and tons of baby dust!!

E/R rollercoaster

Post by jenolina »

Hello Ladies,

Wow, there are so many of us on here! It's great. I have had many moments of feeling alone in this journey. So many people you try to talk to about it just can not understand, that's why is is so great to have this forum! Thanks for all you support!

I had my final US this morning. My largest follies were 17, they want 20mm ideally on E/R day. They told me that they were moving my E/R to Saturday, but then they changed their minds, and moved me back Friday morning. My E2 is over 2000, up from about 1000 on Monday, so that is good. Looks like I will have about 7 mature ones. Our RE says follies can be mature at 15mm? Any one else heard this? Anyway, tonight is my HcG. I am trying not to think about that LONG needle! I am so excited E/R is finally here!

Our clinic recommends progesterin suppositories AND injections until 12 weeks. Anyone else having to do all that? Seems excessive since I have no m/c and already had one natural birth.

Hopinginpa: Congrats on your doubling BETAs!

VAL: When is your US scheduled for? I stimmed 5 days before my first US, then another 3 days, then every 2 days. I thought it should have been more too. Have you been giveing blood so that they can track your E2 level?

JDC: Congrats on your poas bfp! That’s awesome!

Toobee: They told meds wouldn’t increase my follies, but I started out with only 2 on one side, and now have 5 there. Stay positive…you may have more follies just yet!

Baby_Crazy: GL with hcg tonight and E/R on Friday  Hopefully lots of mature ones!

I’m thinking positive thoughts for all of you!

My ER was scheduled for Mon but they said I might go on Sun instead. Still waiting to hear back from doc about E2 levels it was 549 on Tues. I am getting so excited. :D I will post more when I hear back.

Post by TrueBeliever »

And the countdown continues.... Only 3 days until my beta and I am finding it really hard not to POAS. I am so anxious to know if anything is going on inside there, as I feel no different. I hear the ladies talk about back pains or cramps and I have felt nothing. I am not sure what to think of it, really trying to stay positive. I may break down tomorrow or Saturday, if I do you all will be the first to know :D

How is everyone else doing? How are your stims going? How is the 2WW going? How are your pregnancies going so far, I know it is early but love to hear details.

I want to say that everyone who has gotten bad news this month, try to stay positive and the time will come. It is a long hard struggle, and we do not go through more than we cane bare. My heart is with you.

Hey ladies,

Went for my first u/s & b/w since i started stimming (so this is day 4) and i feel so down right now.....

The RE said he was 'disappointed' as i only have 4 follies in the L ovary and 1 on the right. He said he expected to see 8-10 and i am a 'poor responder', probably because of my 'diminishing ovarian reserve' (which i didnt know i had till then). Its another thing to add to the list of problems i guess :(

SO anyway he has increased my meds from 1 vial of menopur to 4 vials and from one unit of follistim to 4 and i will go back tomorrow to see if anything is going on in there or not. Just waiting for a call on the b/w but who knows......

Has anyone else been a slow starter and then responded to a big hike in meds????? Needing to hear a 'yes' right now :(

Hello, ladies. How's everyone doing?

JDC - congratulations!!! So happy for you. I'm still thinking if I should get hpt's.

Jharris - hang in there, we're all here for you.

Hoping - that's amazing your beta went up.

Valerie - cramping is a good sign, I had lots of it about 4 days before ER. Still have some b/c I had lots of follies.

Jenolina - tomorrow is actually my ET not ER. I had my ER last sunday, got 7 eggs, 6 fertilized and tomorrow will be my 5-day transfer. But anyway, wish you lots of eggs.

TrueBeliever - yay, 3 days. I'll be on pins and needles when I'll have 3 days left.

ShellBell - GL with ER!!!

Kas101 - dont be frustrated, 5 follies may give you 5 mature eggs. I had 18 follies and got only 7 mature eggs and lots of pain. So a large amount of follies doesnt mean lots of eggs.

As for me, nothing new here. Yesterday went for my pre-transfer AP. I dont know if it was my imagination but i felt warmth in my belly after about 10 min. I told my AP and she said it's the blood circulation.

So tomorrow is a big day for me, hopefully i'll get knocked up  . My pregnancy test is scheduled for Aug 25, 9 days after ET, not counting tomorrow. xxx

Hello ladies:

I am sorry I have not posted in a while. I have been swamped here with backyard renovations.

baby crazy, I too hope you get knocked up tomorrow. lol
Jharris - we are here for you if you need us!
JDC - congratulations
Hoping - sounds maybe like 2 beans in that pod!!!
Valerie - I am also getting mild cramping and swear I feel 4 months pregnant with this bloat...
ShellBell - Lots of luck
Kas101 - quality over quantity. I know people who had only 2 blasts not great quality and are now parents. stay positive and try to relax, stress is not good for your body to recieve those embies you will be Transfering.

As for me. I feel like a pharmacy with all these drugs. as of tomorrow I am on Cetrotide, Dex E2V supp Luveris and 750 units on Gonal F. Dr has me on an aggressive protocol do to my age of a very young 41 yrs old.

I have had a great feeling about this from before we decided to start. Being in a positive place I think truly helps the bosy function at its peek proformance. I have my US and CD9 on Tuesday the 19th, Ill keeo you posted.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of us for a wondeful August filled with BFP's

Hi Girls

I'm just going to give a quick update for now since I have a headache.

I went in for my Day 4 b/w since I started stims. My estrogen was 139. I go back on Sun for b/w and my first ultrasound. Is it weird that they didn't do one today?

I hope everything is going well if all of you.

Kas I know exactly how you feel right now. I was in the same situation...I only had 4 follies...and no I did not miracously get more, but things are working out so much better than I could have imagined! Please try and keep your spirits up and know that there is hope for you!

Babycrazy I told myself I wasn't going to POAS and I ended doing like 6 tests! I know I'm totally crazy but it was like I couldn't believe my eyes!

I want to thank everyone sooooo much for all of the congrats. Tomorrow is my beta....I feel good and positive because i feel pregnant and I just know it will be okay. DH is being very cautious and is waiting for our numbers.

I really want to continue with AP into my pregnancy, but not sure if I can afford it....My AP said she has been hitting a "happy baby" point where they find that the babies are more calm and start sleeping through the night sooner than average babies. Amazing.

To all our girls stimming: Grow, Grow, Grow!!!!!!! :D
To those in the 2ww: keep busy and stay positive! 8)
