first trimester screening tests

Post by carisa »

My gestational carrier is 12 weeks pregnant with our twins. She had the first trimester screening done 3 days ago. I'm not sure if they did the NT scan, or just blood work. I know that they did do an ultrasound at the perinatologist, and she did blood work. The results came back today and were pretty encouraging. We had 1 in 2100 chance of having downs, and 1 in 430 of having other chromosome age related problems.

My question is whether or not the blood test for twins is even accurate. I have always heard that it is not accurate with twins. Maybe they did do the NT scan as well. That would make more sense to me.

If they did an ultrasound the same day then most likely it was an NT scan. My peritonalogist gave me results right there of the scan. I had to wait a week for the blood.
