vaginal inserts and/or spotting after bfp

Post by kim14 »

After 3 vaginal inserts, i had some very light pink spotting today. I freaked out about it all day. The nurse said it was either the baby or the inserts but it makes me sooo nervous. Anyone else experience this after the inserts or just have spotting after a BFP? Ive had my 3rd beta and it was 4785 but the spotting makes me nervous.

When I first started the suppies, that first day I had some really light pink tinges in the discharge from the suppies. It did that for a few days. I've learned that I only put them in about an inch and I dont get any spotting. The closer I put to cervix then I will get spotting.

If you still feel worried, I would go in and have them dp your u/s early, but I have been told that light spotting is normal with suppies.

Hey kim, Not to worry. I had the same thing the first day with suppositories and freaked out as well. I found out that if you put them too far in they could irritate the cervix and cause the pink tinge.
It's even more likely to happen if your cervix is lowered due to a previous birth or a D&C after miscarriage.

It's nothing to worry about and if you just put them in a little less deep it'll probably go away. That nurse is an idiot for telling you that and getting you scared.

Lots of luck and Congradualtions!!!!!!

brownish pink no worries

Post by Literatriz »

Hi,
My progesterone suppies firts irritated my cervix (early in the pregnancy the uterus doesnt' have that natural protection) and I experienced some reddish/pinkish discharge.
However, the brownish, no clotting discharge can be explained by changes in the composition of the paste we instert: it changes color. You can smell it and check : if doesnt smell blood...it is just the peanut oil and something else turning brown as bananas in contact with the oxigen.
Good luck with your pregnancy, worry less, rest and enjoy more!
Best wishes, Literatriz

I also developed spotting while using prog suppos. It freaked me out enough that my RE switched me to PIO shots, which were SOOOO much better. If that's possible for you, I would definitely consider it.
