Hi Natalie,
We have spoken before but you will probably not remember as it was quite a long time ago.
I hope that things are going o.k. for you, I was aware that you had decided to stop IVF, so I hope that you are finding your path to a life post treatment!!
I just wanted to ask you how you found out that you produced embryos of a quality more similiar to a 40 yr old? It's just that I have had 2 m/c, both due to chromosome problems and I am wondering if my eggs are older tham me, if you know what I mean?!
Im doing ok, things had been quite tough but am feeling muh better thank you!. I am have mad e anew friend becky who used to post on here and she has been such a great support to me and dh.
Anyway the main way we found out was because im only 28 and my eggs were that of a 40 year. I have never had any embryos to freeze and never had top grade eggs either, on top of that our fertilisation hasnt been great, worst was injected 11 and only 5 fertilised, 2 transfered and the rest arrested and dint make it!!
I have had many test to determine the reason for my m/c and nothing has ever showed up, all bloods and scans have been fine so there is no evidence that its my actual body, which only leaves chromosome testing. we were given the option of PGD as thats the only 100% way to find defected embryos, the only problem we had was that our eggs probably wouldn make it to a 5 day transfer as they arrest to early.
There is still an issue with my thyroid too, i believe that my thyroid history could have something to so with the quality of my embryos too but no one will really confirm that!!.
Although a blood test can check for several chromosome problems many can be undetected until fertilisation has been done, hence PGD is the only way its gauranteed.
Anyway I hope this helps and I wish you every success with your IVF journey.
