Hello again ladies,
well, this is turning out to be one of the roughest weeks of my life. First, my doc couldn't see a heartbeat on Wed. so he told me to come back next week. I had an appt for Monday, and this morning my grandmother died. I was hysterrical all day, and in the late afternoon began spotting brownish blood. I called the doc, and basically said, I don't care what has to happen, but I need my u/s tomorrow. I am going through way too much, and you have to have some compassion. Thankfully have an appt. for tomorrow morning at 9am. I will either be considering it a blessing from my grandmother, or mourning them both. Keep me in your prayers I can use all I can get right about now. Hangin on by a string.

Well, I went for my sono this morning. It was nailbiting until the very end. The doctor is doing the u/s and still cannot see a h/b. I am getting ready to accept the fact that this pregnancy will not come to be, and I keep in my mind that my grandmother loved children so much, so my baby will be with her. With this the doctor tells me that this particular sonogram machine is one of the worst ones they have. She asks if I would be willing to move into another room. I do, and as soon as she starts the sono, we all see the heartbeat!!!!! I couldn't believe it! Then, she tells me that she now thinks she knows why I have been bleeding. She saw another sac, but it was empty. So, I had 2 embies attatch, and one stayed with me, and one went with my grandmother. :) It is truly amazing

joyanna~ Good luck with your beta tomorrow!!! I am excited for you and can't wait to hear your wonderful news!

suzhan~ I'm hoping as I type this that you have had your et and that is has gone remarkably smooth. Good luck to you and your embies!!!!

already blessed: I was catching up and reading the thread and was so upset by your earlier post, and then so relieved to hear that they found the heartbeat. I am sorry for the loss of your Grandmother, and am happy that one of the babies went with her. What a difficult time for you, but I am so happy you have one miracle baby! How far along are you today?

Joyanna: Excited to hear your beta tomorrow. Wasn't your ET on 7/30? If not, what date was it?

Suzhan: Can't wait to hear how your ET went.

Oh my goodness, I'm just catching up and cannot believe what you've been through, alreadyblessed. What a truly amazing story - I'm just so happy for you, what a relief. H&H 9 months to you!

My ET went well, thanks everyone. Pretty uneventful. The embryo's were not perfect, though, so I'm a little worried, but there's just nothing more to do now but lay here for 2 days. We transferred 4 embies - one was a 10 cell, the other 3 were 6 cells. The best were graded "3" (4 is best, 1 is worst) and one of them was only a "2". There were two more left and they'll see if they make it to blast, in whch case we'll freeze, but they didn't give it too much hope for that.

So, I'm on bed rest for 48 hours....

Thanks again and I'm just so over the moon for you, already blessed.

To all of you ladies, I say thank you. From day one, this board has been such a source of support. It's like the friend that you can't reach out and hug, but you feel how much they care despite the fact that they are not there next to you. I am so happy to have found this site, and all of you. It touches me that you are genuinly interested in my life and the things that are going on.
After I left the doctors office this morning, my DH and I were so excited. We began talking about names and how blessed we were. Two hours later I found myself at the end of our church service trying to explain to my 8 & 3 yr. old about their great-grandmother. Talk about hitting every emotion. It is almost surreal.
I just wanted to say thanks again for all the wonderful support you have sent my way, and the wonderful thoughts. I will be following each of you and cannot wait until next year when we start posting about who gave birth to their beautiful baby.
I will keep praying, everyday, knowing that I have God to listen and a guardian angel to watch over this baby.

Alreadyblessed - my heartfelt congratulations to you. I am very happy for you and your family.

Suzhan - great to hear that your et went well. Hope you get as much rest as possible during the 2ww and lots of babydust your way.

Kimmysq - I had my et on Monday 28 July. Hope you are getting on well?

As for me, I am very sad to say that things are looking a bit bleak for me. I posted my beta question on the main board for ghost/ivfnurse. My beta only rose by 41% in the past 6 days and is at 660 (which I think is very low) and my clinic is not being too optimistic. I am getting a scan on Wednesday to rule out ectopic pregnancy. I feel very crampy like AF is just waiting to descend on me, no back ache though. The clinic said that the beta is inconclusive at the moment..........I feel desolated.

I can only imagine how nervous you might right now and I'm really going to keep you and your little one my thoughts. I truly hope that the scan on Wednesday brings better news but I know how hard these next two days will be. Take care,

Joyanna:
I am so sorry to hear about news. Can they scan you earlier than WEdnesday? That seems so far away.
Sending you hugs and I hope that scan brings you good news.

Suzhan & Kimmysq

what a rollercoaster - my dh and I are nearly gone insane. I had a scan done today and there are two foetal sacs - so twins implanted. One of the foetal sacs is way too small and is not a viable pregnancy but it is still very much there. The other one is a bit behind normal but the doc saw the beginning of yolk and foetal pole - hope for us. So I have to stay on the meds and pray for a mircale. My doctor told me to drink lots of water, feet up, no more hpts or betas tests (as the second foetal sac is just distorting these) and to come back for a scan on 1 week...........can you believe this. I also have a brown discharge that she said is coming from my cervix - and i thought that was the start of the miscarriage. I do not know how I am going to get through the week. my dd birthday is on sunday - think I may need to re-organise that. I'll be praying like a trooper. I hope that you are both well and thanks for your mail.

Joyanna - oh my goodness, you're right, that is a roller coaster, but at least it does explain the beta. I don't recall how far along you are now, but seeing the fetal pole at this phase seems like a good milestone. I'm keeping you in my thoughts for the next week and hope you have a wonderful scan.

Take it easy, rest as much as you can.

Just a quick update, my other two embies didn't make it to blast, as we thought. So, these little 4 that came back to me have to be the ones, at least that's what we're praying for now.

Take care everyone.

Just popping in to say hello.

Suzhan - hope you good on your 2ww, how are you getting on? I have decided that the next time I am on a 2ww that I am going to get myself a mini project to keep my mind 100% occupied as this time I really let it get to me!!!!! I hope you are getting on better than I did! Sorry to hear that you got no frosties.

Kimmysq - best of luck with your scan on Monday.

As for me. I am up and down like a yo-yo. I just cannot see how there can be a happy ending to this for us. My beta was was too low. I just feel crampy all the time and I have a brown discharge. I think I have resigned myself to bad new next wednesday but I am sure that I will cry my eyes out again when I finally get the news. Could anyone recommend a good book that I could get to help me deal with 'fertility in the 40's' - I am 40 in October. I have a Zita West book but I think I need something new to me. I don't know where to go from here. I have had 3 failed FETs with good quality embroys (1 cycle grew out d3 embies to blast and the other two I transferred thawed 2 X blasts each time). Changing clinics is not an option as there are so few in Ireland I am with what is perceived to be the best. Sorry for sounding out. I think the first step is to take time away from all of this and get myself as healthy as I can and emotionally recharged.
