New to ivf

Post by Jana »

Hi, I'm new to all of this and I am a little overwhelmed by it all. I tried to find a support group in my area, but have not been able to find one. Before we get started the doctor want's to take out my other tube. that happens in 3weeks. then it's the wait until we can get started with ivf. I travel a lot so I don't know how difficult it will be to travel and take shot's at the same time. I stumbled over this site by accident, I hope it's a good one.

Hi Jana
Yes this site is great and there is loads of advice/info/experience available. I am just about (fingers crossed) to start my first ivf cycle so see what happens, am not sure how keen I am on the injections but I think as long as you can do them at the right time it doesnt matter about travelling. Good luck with the hospital appt. Do you know how long after you will be able to start ivf?

We are still trying to save up the money to start ivf. We will probably start in the early fall. I know how you feel about the shot's. I am not looking forward to it. My co-worker said that if you wait 5min. after you mix the 2 drugs together, that it doesn't hurt as bad. Good luck and please keep me posted on how everything goes.

Hi Jana,

i used to take my injections with me wherever i was going and do it in the car or bathroom. It really only took a minute once i had got the hang of it and that was it for another day. When we went on a long haul flight we just made sure we had one clock set to the same time so we always got the timings right which is fairly important.
Good luck, helen

Hello Jana

Welcome to the site. You have come to the right place and you will get all the support and info you will need for your treatment. I have had both my tubes removed so wishing you lots of luck for your op in 3 weeks.

Once you get used to doing the injections it will be easy wherever you are. I injected anywhere and everywhere, at work, college, friends houses, restaurants, in the car etc etc.

I am now 22 weeks pg after 3 treatments so be positive and look forward with lots of PMA!!

Fingers crossed when you start your IVF

Love Dagny x
