All to come

Post by sweetielol »

Hi girls, and guys!!

I have just had a lap and dye which has shown my right tube to be severly damaged due to adhesions and also showed cysts on tube, my left tube was removed 10yrs ago due to an ectopic pregnancy. As I am sure you can all imagine I feel terribly low and pissed off. The dr who done the lap said he thinks IVF is my best bet and will be reccomending this for my consult which is on the 1st JUNE - it seems so far off.

IS anyone under the thurrock area, can you give me any idea of how long I will have to wait before I get IVF, that is of course if I am entitled, I dont know how it stands as I know things have changed recently, can anyone help or give me some idea.

Good luck to you all anyway, have tried for 2yrs to have a baby and this is a kick up the backside especially as I paid out fortune on tests and ovulation kits, I am sure it will happen one day just need to stay positive but it is hard, anyone else feel the same???

Dear S,
Sorry I cant answer any specifics from you message ( re waiting times) but I did want to say that visiting this site has helped me a lot since I started ivf, and I didnt find it until Id been going a while. I dont post v often but I do find the site in general to be a good source of info and by checking the message board Ive found some things to ask during appointments that I wouldnt have known about othewrwise. I suppose its just nice to be able to identify with other peoples experiences especially when the going gets tough
good luck Annie

I'm at the same stage as you are. It took me 3 months to get into an IVF doctor. He know wants to take out my other tube because he said that it will lower my chances of the IVF working. I'm having that done in 3 weeks. We are still saving up our money for IVF and will start it in the fall. It seems like forever. Good luck.

Hello

Welcome to the site!

I know know about specific hospitals in your area, but I just wanted to wish you luck and to reassure you that the whole IVF process is not as bad as you first imagine!

The hardest bit for us was getting into the system and waiting our turn (we paid privately but still had to wait a long time for a consultation and tmt).

I first saw my consultant about two years ago and I've had two tmts. I'm one of the lucky ones because my second tmt worked and I'm not pg with twins due in May.

I just wanted to reassure you that the waiting is all worth it, you just need to persevere and be really strong - you'll get there in the end!

Good luck.

Thanks Ann, Jana and Nikola,

It is good to knowo there are people to talk to, I am trying to stay on the positive side and I know I am going to have to be patient and wait, and knowing that I do have a chance is worth.

Good luck to you all, and speak soon.

Hello there

I too would like to welcome you to this site. It is such a great source or information and support and hopefully you will have many of your worries and questions answered.

I don't know about the area you are in for waiting times, I am in Surrey (my brother lives in Essex) but I hope you don't have to wait for too long. It only adds to the upset of finding out you have to have IVF doesn't it?

I had to have my tubes removed which was a decision I couldn't make for ages but they just didn't work and would only heighten the chances of my IVF treatments being ectopic. So out they came.

I have had 3 treatments and the first two were -ve but I am now nearly 22 weeks PG with 1 baby. So be patient and be positive and we are always here to offer advice.

Good luck

Love Dagny x
