For those in the 2 WW

Post by suzhan »

Just wondered who else out there was in the 2ww...

I transferred 4 embies 3dpER on Sunday so I'm now officially 'waiting'. My clinic makes us wait until 16 dp ER for first beta - are you kidding? But yes, that's true. So, technically I have another 11 days in my 2 ww. I've already POAS - just to ensure the hcg shot was clear, and it was, so I know I'm 'clear' already from the hcg. I also know that I don't think I'll have enough willpower to avoid POAS before the official beta (I always do....many times over, even....)

So, anyone else out there wanna share stories, symptoms, and just generally hope together that we'll all get our bfps soon?

Dear Suzhan,
I am not in 2ww but I have been there so I know what are you going through. Try to be calm and not to think about it however it is not easy but having positive thought will help you :) I am glad that you have a little daughter so hopefuly you will have another one soon.

Correction - went back and looked and there's a very, very faint line, so I guess the hcg is still in my system. I guess it will be another 1-2 days before it's gone, huh? I think they say 1 day for every 1000 units, so according to that, I've got to wait to Friday for it to be gone....

Thanks for the good wishes marynaz!

I go back to work tomorrow which is probably (yes definitely) a good thing as it will hopefully keep my mind off of this as well. I can't believe I have almost two weeks before my beta - I may go loonie tunes (lol!)

Hey i posted this question on the other threads but i wanted to know if anyone in the 2ww has experienced what i am going through. Well here is my situation. I am currently 9dp4dt and for the past day i have been having nipple discharge. Well more like my breast is leaking. I have thought it was the progesterone but i am not sure. This is my first IVF so all this to me is new. I POAS 2x a day but all have been negative. Any suggestions or idea to what it might be?

hmmmm....no idea, other than occassionally the stim meds can elevate prolactin levels, the hormone that stimulates milk formation in the breasts. I'd definitely call your doctor and let them know.

What sensitivity of hpt are you using? At only 9dp4dt, you'd have to be using a pretty sensitive test to get a positive this early, so hang in there!

Good luck on your beta!

The tests i am using are from http://www.saveontests.com/ On the site they say that the sensitivity is of 20mIU/mL. Hopefully soon i will know if its a true negative or future positive.

Hi Suzhan,

I, too, am suffering through my 2ww. I had a FT on 8/21 with 3 embys. Only one looked very good. uggg. Are you having any symptoms? I have been having a little cramping but my bb's are pretty sore. Are you on the POI shots?
My beta is 9/3. That seems so far away!!!! I will probably spend a small fortune on HPT's between now and then.
Keep the faith!

Stay in touch.

I am on day 4 of stim, so not with you in the 2 week wait.

Just wanted to add that my clinic makes us wait until 16 days past the TRANSFER or 18 DPO!

Yup, that is crazy, but I think they don't want to miss anything!

Suzhan,
I am also in the 2ww. Transferred 3 little guys on Saturday 8/23. It was a 3 day transfer. My beta is 9/5. 1 more week to go. Yeh!!!! I don't have any symptons so far, just some little cramping and different twinges here and there. Also sore boobs but I am sure all of this is due to the PIO. Trying to keep a PMA but also trying not to get my hopes up really high in case I get a BFN. Hope you don't mind but I love you praying smily faces so I might steal them now and then.

For whatever reason I have no desire to POAS. I wouldnt even know when a blast would begin to implant on a 5 day transfer. I had 3 blatocysts transferred last tuseday. So does anyone know the implamentaion process after a 5 day transfer?? It seems to be going by fast for me. I cant believe tommorrow is Sunday already---

Hi girls,

I might as well join you during the 2ww! I transferred 3 blasts yesterday at noon and I'm just taking it easy today.
Nice to see Toobee and Chris here too!! :D
I'm testing on 9/08, so still a long way to go.

To answer Toobee, the blasts should start implanting within a day or two after they hatch. Yours should be snuggled in already.

Suzhan~ you had your beta today...any good news?

I'll see if I get tons of symptoms like last time...so far, not much but it's so early. I've had sore boobs for the past week and I'm having little cramps so far.

Hope everyone is feeling good today!

Catch you later

I found this about 5dt:

-1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
0dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
1dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
2dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
3dpt.. Implantation begins,as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
4dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
5dpt.. Morula is completely inmplanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
6dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
7dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
8dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
9dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

"I was actually told by my RE that for a 5 day blastocyst transfer it will take about 4 days to implant. I did a blastocyst 5dt and i promise that on the 4th day i had strange cramping sensation and then the next morning a little bleeding (implantation bleeding?). At any rate, I'm 20 weeks pregnant now with triplets, so don't worry if you don't feel anything withing the first 24 - 72 hours - it can take up to 4 days."

And then I found some other stuff: if you laugh instead of worry , your chances skyrocket
