Post by carebear110b »

Hello ladies! well i have a question for some of you, after 5yrs of trying and male factor infertility we did ivf, we have 9 frozen embryos left ad since giving birth to my son on march 11th, 2008 we have decided that after his first bday we want to try to do a frozen embryo transer and try for a sibling. does anyone have any success stories from the fet? and can anybody tell me what to expect? we had a successsful ivf on the first try and im hoping for the same results if thats even possible. i would just love to give my son a sibling any comments and success stories/advice are welcome thank you

FET is so much easier OMG. I am 5 weeks & 1 day from frozen. I did 3 fresh got 1 no & 2 chemicals. I think the fresh just does a job on your body. I have 3 friends that the frozen worked for them too. It so much easier no meds until the transfer

We did FET in February and ended up pregnant with twins. Our one and only fresh cycle didn't work. We are due November 6.

I did one fresh, negative, 3 FET's, 2 were chemical, more tests, added aspirin and got a positive on the 3rd FET, i defrosted 2, both survived and i am now the proud mummy of 6 week old twin boys.
good luck

I also did a fresh ET which resulted in a BFN. But the FET was a BFP 6 months later.

FET is less stressful because you don't have to stimulate follicles, since you already have the embryos. You start the birth control pills so they can get control of your cycle. Then you start the lupron to control your ovulation. While you are on the lupron your RE checks your endometrial thickness and they make sure you don't ovulate prematurely to determine when he/she will do the transfer. You will still have a lot of ultrasounds so be prepared. Once everything is in sync they will do the embryo transfer and from there you take the same meds that you took for the fresh cycle's embryo transfer. The morning of transfer day they will call and tell you how many embryos survived. Our clinic has 2 embryos per vial, so they unthawed two at a time until they got to the number of embryos that we wanted transferred.

My RE always has me take baby aspirin 120mg for each cycle. Due to the fact that you won't be taking any follicle stimulating hormones you won't seem as bloated. You could probably get a mock calendar of FET from your clinic to see exactly how they do it. Hope I covered everything.
