In need of a pick me up

Post by jade81 »

Hiya girls!
How are yas? I know everyone probably feels a bit the same at times but i'm feeling a bit down and negative today. Its my own fault really as I POAS yesterday to see if trigger was out of my system and it was + and even though I know it was because of the trigger I think when you see a + you can't help but get carried away with it (stupid me!) So today when I POAS again to see if it was fainter well it was - nearly gone - and now I'm all sad because I thought - in all my silly hopefullness - that yesterdays might not be due to the trigger  What a dumbo hey. Even though I told myself that's why I was POAS I just think I got carried away with the idea. I know its pretty early anyways - I'm only 8 days post transfer - some say the embie doesn't implant for 7-10 days after transfer - but I just feel a little hopeless today. I have no symptoms etc and really feel like this month is a no go again. Plus DH has been a bit negative too unfortunately - I know he's just trying to protect himself - but it doesn't help either. We have decided on a back up plan of if this doesn't work we're going to go overseas in October for a few weeks (my FS is away mid September to end of October so no cycle that month) but really its a consolation prize you know. Anyways I've rambled on enough - just needed a little encouragement I guess. Thanks everyone xxxxx

Dear Jade81,
I know exactly how do u feel. Honey it is too early to show I think you need to wait at least 3-4 more days to see the result, however even then you should wait for ur beta. Try to stay positive and I will pray for u. take care of yourself.

jade- at 8dp 2dt- you are only 10 days past ovulation- even the most sensitive HPT would have a hard time finding any HCG at this point- hang on- be strong and think positively - the 2ww is a bear, only a few more days and you'll have your beta- keep thinking PUPO!!!

Jade,

Your probability of being pregnant is much higher than mine.

My humor tends to be of a logical type.

Like: "What's wrong with this match? It worked just a minute ago."

Oh well, I try.

Jade - I understand EXACTLY how you feel. I'm in the 2ww too - 7dp3dt - and about to lose my mind....I've POAS every day since 4dp3dt - and got the same bfp you did with the same hope that maybe it would get darker, even though I know absolutely 100% it was the trigger and it would go away. Now, I almost make it seem like I see the second line, even though I know there isn't one there. I'm a crazy lady and I've been through this so many times, I should know better, but I just keeping hoping the next one will be positive....

Anyway, I think we're both just too early and both need to take a break from the hpts....easier said than done, huh?

Take care!

Jade,

You did a trigger with a FET? Is that common? We didn't trigger on our last cycle.

In any case, give it a few days, hon. Your history looks almost exactly the same as mine so I can definitely relate to your frustration!

Triggers with FET are not in the majority. The trigger induces ovulation at the planned time, and the corpus luteum can then produce progesterone to help sustain the pregnancy.

Perhaps I can post a better pick-me-up.

Let's look at the bigger picture. (Turn on the narrative voice of Morgan Freeman at this point).

You are partway along in your long journey of parenthood. You are going to great expense and discomfort to bring into this world a stranger you have never met but can only imagine. You do this at some risk to your health. It takes much of your time, and is very stressful. Some find it embarrassing, and for some it puts strain on their family, marriage, and friendships.

Along the way, there will be good days and bad days, heightened by the hormones. Expectations and hopes run high. Sometimes our hopes are rewarded, but they are equally often dashed. It hurts. With great resiliency, you keep trying until it works, and the little miracle that will be yours arrives in your arms, and clasps tiny fingers around yours. At this point, all the pain, expense, frustration, and risk are forgotten. We forget what is over and focus on what has just begun.

You are my heroes.

Thanks again everyone! Ghost what lovely words thank-you! I hope & pray I get those little fingers around mine soon :)
Thanks toobee!
Hi kerpupples - with my FET I had to do 3+ weeks of FSH needles to ovulate as I never do on my own and my FS used Pregnyl to trigger ovulation so we would have an exact time for transfer. Plus Im on the Pregnyl for luteal support - 1500 day of transfer then i had another 1500 3 days later :)
