Buckeyegal: Where did you get your ticker that counts up on their age?? I want to get one of those! Thank you also. Yes the stress is no fun!

Well, I am done with the pumping and trying to BF. I gave it a try. I do not want to have to take pills to try to make the milk come in though and I think that is something that has been making my stomach so upset. Plus, I noticed today that the supply is actually getting less so I decided to just stop and relieve myself from that stress. Who knew PCOS could lead to no breast tissues strong enough to support BF. I really wish doctors were more tuned in on this to warm their patients.

Mackenzie got a shot of caffeine to help with her heart. They said usually everything calms down around 34 weeks which is next week. And some meds to help with her tummy. She started back on 2 cc again. Heavy baby weighing in at 3 lbs 7 oz now!

Brooke is in the step down nursery. She is a grower feeder. Just needs to gain the weight and be able to suck on a bottle and she can come home! She is 3 lbs 4 oz and needs to be 4 lbs to come home. So most likely she will be here before Kenzie.

Go to lilypie.com. You can count "up" to different b-days. I think Ticker factory has some too?

Good luck with the bfing!

Well, little Mackenzie keeps giving me emotional breakdowns! Not her fault though. Today I went in to the hospital just to check up and they (nurses) bombard me saying I need to sign this sheet saying that they can give her blood. So of course I am like...ummm why does she need blood? Well they say since they have been taking so much out of her for tests that she can not reproduce it as fast plus it will help with the oxygen levels and help her breathing. So hopefully this works the caffeine last night did not help. So once the blood goes in her breathing should slow down otherwise they will have to put her back on the cpap. So pray it helps and that she starts to do better. She is on room air though and keeping her temperature so that is great. She got her feedings taken away again though because she threw it right back up. So pray her tummy gets worked out as well.

Brooke is on room air as well and will start to bottle feed sometime next week hopefully. So once she gains the weight she can come home pretty much.

It breaks my heart to cry over Mackenzie then look at how well Brooke is doing and just break down. I do not wish this experience upon anyone! But in the end it will all be worth my two healthy girls! Hopefully that time will get here sooner than later. I know that in the end this will teach me a great lesson even though I do not know what it is totally yet. (Patience I think is a bid one, thanks Heavenly Father!).

So please say extra prayers for the girls; esp. Mackenzie.

Hi all

Just wanted to give the good news to everybody . I delivered the twins (at 38 weeks 5 days)vaginally and they r 2 weeks old today . Thanx for all the support I got on this board . Things r going right and not so right most of the times . Finding it difficult to breastfeed the two babies . One of them latches atleast OK but not for long . The other one hates my boobs . I have been pumping the breastmilk and giving them . Also i feed them formula . I feel so tired sometimes ..... all these bottles /sterlizing never ends . Besides i always keep on wondering how long is this going to go on. I have lot of milk now ...but dont simply have the strength to make them latch on to my breasts. Shud i go to a lactation consultant ?. But even if they latch .... i feel i will b so tired to feed two of them .

How many of u actually breastfeeding twins ?. plz plz share your story.

Baby2008: I tried to pump (mine are still in the NICU) so at least you have yours at home which helps a lot to bring in supply. I gave up after 2 weeks though but my milk did not come in! But there are TONS of people who BF twins and get enough supply eventually! You just have to keep going at it if it is something you really want to do! GOod luck! I would go and see a lactation cons. if you are having problems with latching. They are great help.

Welcome SIlver Angel679! Twins are great!! I wish you a wonderful pregnancy!

As for our little girls they are doing much better! Mackenzie is now 4 lbs and ate her 3cc out of a bottle today! She did not spit it up and gave a good burp! So hopefully they will start to increase her feedings. She is in an open crib now as well. Still a few breathing issues but they seem to finally be starting to work themselves out SLOWLY which is fine as long as she is healthy in the end. Brooke is 3lbs 10 oz now! She is on 16cc of food and will start to bottle sometime this week. She is getting moved into an open crib as well. No issues with this girl minus the small tummy! So hopefully in Sept if all things keep going up they will be able to come home!! My mom is coming up this weekend to see them which will be nice to have someone at the hospital with me for long periods of time. Hope all is well with you!!

Good Eveneing Mommies!

Sugabeansz~ Sounds like your babies are doing much better! YEAH!!!! Hang in there. They will be home before you know it!

Baby2008~ CONGRATS!!!! Wow, almost 39 weeks! Good for you! Names? Weights? Pics? We're greedy over here since our babies are getting so big. :D As far as bfeeding goes, I am still solely bfeeding. I use to add calories in the beginning to pumped milk for one feed so they could get some extra but it was way too much work for me and I couldn't find a pump to work at all. It was interesting to get it to work but the double nursing pillow was a life saver! Couldn't have done it w/o it! Nursing tandem was so fast and easy with no clean up. My babies were 34 weekers but I insisted on nursing from the day they were born. Even if they didn't latch for long I wanted them to try it at every feed unless they were super tired. Being a very hyper and super active person helped me to not really ever get the sleep depervation so I was really lucky. If you have specific questions I would love to help you out. A consultant is a great idea BTW!!! I loved it and that time we are together is still the best part of every day for me! Now that they are so busy it's great to spend 20 minutes cuddled up! I love it!
Good luck!

Silverangel679~ Welcome and congratulations! This message board is so great and I hope we can help you out in any way! It's the best thing ever! I sincerely mean that! To see two little faces in the morning and to see an instant friendship is so amazing! Hugs to you!

Over here~ Been at the lake for 3 straight days! For real! We are so tired! It's been fun and I'll have some pics on my blog tomorrow for sure but it has been lots of work! WHEW! Babies love the water but still don't love the life jackets but it's getting better every day.
On a sad note. . .   I think Annelise is starting to ween (sp) herself!!!!!!! She hasn't nursed in 2 days and I am just heartbroken over it! When I go to feed her she sometimes just kisses me instead as if to say "Sorry! all done!" The little guy has kicked it up a notch though. How sweet of him!
On the birthday front. . .it's officially the week after their b-day since we will have a house of 8 house guests the entire 4 day weekend and after Bodie's West Nile episode we were too scared to send out invites until he was well. The party should be easy it's dealing with the fact I have 1 year olds and not brand new babies! I am so sad about this. Time is going too fast and they are getting so big. . .ok, not so big yet but old for sure! It's seriously sending me into a funk! I'm so happy for every milestone but yet so concerned it's going too fast!

Another concern. . . .sincerely, could I be pg? Not sure but have been wondering where my dear friend AF is at? Just a thought for the night! YIKES!

Have a good night everyone!

Hi girls,

I've been checking in, but haven't had much time to write. I started back to work today. I'll only be teaching in the mornings, which is nice. Unfortunately, it's quite a challenge to get up and jog the dog, shower, get the twins ready and get out the door in any reasonable amount of time! Ahhhh! Thank goodness DH's schedule is more flexible. He'll have to help out some days.

SilverAngel--Congratulations! You will love this place. HOpe you have a great pregnancy!

baby2008--Congrats on your babies! YOu did great! Wow! Hang in there with the bfing. It is hard work, but It's still so early for you. I'd get a consultant pronto...you'll feel so much better. We'd love more info on your babies! Did you have girls, boys, one of each?

suga--glad to hear the girls are doing better! I bet it will be nice for you to share this time with your mom. I hope your girls come home as soon as they can!

Kimberly--   Have you done a test? Oh boy! Let us know what happens with that one....I had been thinking about another around my kiddos first b-day, but I've decided no more (for now! ). It's just crazy over here at our house, plus work....I just don't think I could do it right now. My two run in opposite directions all day long--go figure! Did Bodie have WEst Nile? Somehow I missed that! Yikes! Hope he's all better. I can't wait to see pics of the big party---can't believe it's coming up! Sorry to hear about Annelise's strike. HOpe it's short-lived. If not, you still did AWESOME with her! I'll try to check out your blog. Keep us posted!

Hi everyone ,

I have finally called the lactation lady . She will b here tomoro at 11 AM . My boys Hari and druv (6+ and 5+ pounds at birth ) are doing good while their mom juggles with breastpump , bottles, sterlizers and so on. And not to mention the times when i try hard to breastfeed them and they try not to.
Todays day was horrible . My DH went to work after the 2 week paternity leave . I was all alone . It was horrible when both start crying together . I didnt know what to do . I have no help at home . My mom is no more . My MIL was here for last two months of pregnancy and she made my life hell . Finally she left after she saw the babies .

Wont i be able to manage without help ?. How did u twin moms survive during initial days . Plz help .

Kholtan , hearing your story , i feel i shud have done the same . But it was all so frustrating . No milk in the begining forced me to give them bottle . Besides the backache , sleep deprivation were just horrible.

I keep thinking why didnt I have just one instead of twins . Atleast i would have been able to take care of them properly.

Ladies plz help

baby2008: So luck with the milking! I am sure everything will turn out! I wish you the best! You just have to always keep in the back of your hear (during the hard times) that twins are double the blessing! Mine are not home from the hospital yet and that scares me when they will both be crying and I have no one around. They say it gets easier as time goes!!

Kimberly: Ummm, take a test? That would be crazy if you were pregnant. I think it is funny when nurses find out we are IVF they still say "YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET PREGNANT even if you were IVF RIGHT?!" I am like...yes, chill. We will use something for at least a year! I think it is highly unlikely for us though because I have PCOS and they think I have a slight case of endometriosus. (which they found during the csection thus making me go into preterm labor!) You never know!!

Well Mackenzie is 4lbs 3 oz! She had to get some meds to help with her water retention. Her left eye is swollen shut for some reason. She can not hardly open it! So hopefully she will pee the puffiness out! She is still on 25% oxygen and high flow. Her little lungs just need to develop already! Brooke is 3 lbs 15 oz!! Transitioning into an open crib and hopefully will start on the bottle here soon! So hopefully she will come home within the next two weeks?? The only thing that will be bad about that is when we go to the hospital both of us could not go in to see Kenzie cause one would have to stay with Brooke. But I would like her home!

Hi Ladies,

Congratulations to Baby2008! Well done carrying them till full-term! I understand the hardships with feeding and pumping. If your milk supply is up, you have a very good chance of succeeding with BFding. I think the babies will figure it out soon and you will be nursing like a pro! Hang in there. My twins are 6 months and they are on formula. They sure get sick a lot more often than my DS who was breastfed for five months.

Sugabeanz, I am glad McKenzie is doing well! That is a very good progress to be able to move to an open cot. You sound wonderful and less stressed. Good luck!!

Welcome, SilverAngel679! Yes, you do belong here! Ask us any questions you may have. I wish I had joined this group during the pregnancy because I sure had so many!

Kim, I can't believe it's already Sept and school is starting. Seattle this summer was so odd that it almost feels like the real summer never came. Here we are in rain as if we'd already started the fall rainy season. It stinks! Are your twins on leash when you go out by yourself? When I go out with all three, I buckle Sean in the front seat of the double stroller, put Noah in the back seat and carry Alyson. Everyone looks at me and comments how busy I must be.

Kimberly, didn't know Bodie had the virus. That must have been scary. I love your photos on your blog. The fair must be so much fun to go to. I do miss Idaho fairs. I am sorry you are feeling sad about Annelise weaning. It could be just a phase. My Sean was ready to wean at 3 month and I was very hurt by his little hands pushing me away! Have fun planning the birthday bash. Sounds like you already have guests lined up.

Boy, my DH is gone again on a business trip for 5 days. I am plain exhausted caring for my infant twins and a toddler. I wish my family lived close so that they can help me. He's going to be gone at least once a month from now on. He has another trip planned in two weeks. I just have to toughen up. I also need to decide if I am going back to work or not. If I do choose to, I will be able to work from home. I feel like Sean's not getting the attention he needs and he just gets terriblly bord. Hmmm what to do! Anyway, I better get ready for the last feedings. Wish me luck!

Well, hello ladies-

I do have a question though do I need to be concern about anything? well I had my u/s yesterday and both babies are healthy and weighs a pound each - is that too low? the OB said they are fine and the most important thing is they are growing and what not.

but I was just curious - i have always been a tiny/petite person - and i see other twin pregnant moms and they are way bigger than me and that's concering to me.

I'm sure their babies are bigger too - so i dunno what to think of it?

what do you guys think??

sameera: I posted you on the other thing but that is where I was at that same time. They usually gain more weight in later weeks. Just make sure you are eating lots. When mine were born at 30 weeks 3 lbs 3 oz and 2 lbs 12 oz. So you are not far from that. You start gaining a lot quickly. However, I was not eating a whole lot because I had no appetite (IT IS BACK THOUGH lol). So just make sure you eat so they gain lots near the end because most twin are delivered at like 34 weeks and you want them to be plump!
