Toobee

I saw your post to Ghost. I think it looks great, you have nothing to worry about! You have at least 6 very good ones! With blasts, you have a little better chance of getting pregnant. Try to relax a little more. I like the fact that you want to know as much as you can...I tend to do that too. Sometimes, the more you know, the more you can sometimes worry and we need to stay relaxed!
You know, when they retrieved those eggs last time, somehow I just knew it was going to be alright. I feel the same this time around.
They called me each day to give me the report on my embies and they divided perfectly. My embryologist told me I had a good chance of getting pregnant and she was right. I'm going to do it again but I will carry to term!

Some clinics freeze embryos at blast stage and other at day 2 or 3 or even 1 as I've read on here. They want an embryo that looks good, without too fragmentation. But, pregnancies come from embryos that are less than perfect...many times. Maybe we were less than perfect embryos too.

I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope I never have to do this again...we won't, it will work!

Hi Girls

Toobee- Glad to hear the the OHSS is gone. That can be really painful. Congrats on the 8 strong embies. When is your ET? A lot of people have day 5 transfers, I will be. Keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you the best.

Val- That is so awesome that you have 5 eggies. I hope that they are nice and strong and kepe growing healthy. Keep us updated. I can't wait to hear the fertilization report. Do you know when your ET will be?

Misfixit03 - Welcome to the group! Where are you in the process. Wishing you all the best.

Babyloves- Congrats on your twins! That is so awesome and exciting. The DH and I would like twins so we don;t have to go through this again.

Much Hope - Good luck on the ER. I will be thinking of you. Let us know how it goes>!

Muggesy - How are things going with you.

I am so sorry to those who had BFN and chemical pregnancies. My thoughts are with you.

Good luck to those stimming and those in the 2WW.

I got my fertilization report today and out of the 20 eggs we have 15 that fertilized. They will be doing the PGD on Tues and then the transfer at 3:30 on Thurs. In the past they have dont the transfer earlier during the day. At first I was a little worried about this because I have never had any to freeze so I was afraid they would stop growing before the transfer. The DH told me it is only 4 hours later, and I guess if it could stop growing in this period of time it wouldn't grow in me either. My ER was yesterday and I am still spotting a little and have AF type cramping. Have any of you had spotting for a few days after the ER?

On another notes I had a nice day with my in laws. My DH plays in the community band so they came to hear him and we had a nice visit. Only 4 more days to go.

Hugs and baby dust to all.

Hey Valerie,
I think my posts come acrooss very animated :) becuase I am :) really appreciate what you are saying about staying relaxed and calm, and Its probably hard for you to believe, but I I am chilled. I am normlly going 100 mph cause of my buiz. My husband is getting a kick out of me because he thinks I m in slow motion these days and he finds it strange :)I love these forums, they have helped me so much- and thank you for reaching out to me the first time because I was very hesistant to post at first.
My partner, is completely flustered doing all my work, but I think she will be doing this next, so we'll be even. I too am tryng to figure out if the pregnncy sticks how I am going to get through the first trimester. I have some auto immune issues, so I really have to be careful, and thats why I get tired easily. But I think I am really going to try to keep my schedule as it is now for the 1st tri. Anyway, your very much a calming voice and leader on this thread, and I am so grateful for your wisdom and caring words. Just know my posts arent really reflecting my disposition :) I am very happy IVF'r at the moment  and cautiouslly optimistic

OH- I have been doing allot of accupuncture- I love it. I went every day , which was expensive, but I do belive they helped with my ohss and my egg quality as well, it really relaxes me-

I bet your in great shape with your job- I love what I do expcet the part of sitting on my arse all day long, and soetimes all night too  I try to walk 5 miles a day, and 2 months before IVF I used to run and was in awseome shape. I bummed because I gained 8 (12 two days ago)pounds now throught this process, but my doctor thinks I will lose it all. I am surpised because I defintely watch what I eat and have not started eating more or anything like that.

Well I am just babbling- cause I am currently sitting on a heating pad since my latest PIO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH

Hi Toobee again,

You know, I sense your great enthusiasm and I feel you to be very optimistic...I just didn't want you to be stressed about every little detail. I just sense your eagerness to learn, that's great!

I have tons of energy and I need for what I do. I walk miles every day and I must say that I'm in awesome shape too. I can't stand not doing anything, but I do rest at night. Slowing down for me is really hard but I don't think I'll have that problem once pregnant because you get to feel soooooo tired.
You will lose that weight, I'm sure.
Thank you for your kind words and I'm glad I answered you too, I got to meet somebody great! Helping others is very important and especially in this process, we can use all the calming, reassuring words we can get.
You are very supportive to all others as well...it's so wonderful.

AP is wonderful. isn't it? Wow, every day gets to be so costly! I do it twice a week and I go back tomorrow. Last week I did it 3 times.

Hugs...

Oh I love it- I have been doing it for a year. Let me tell you why

-my cycles where only 21 days long and my periods had some issues as well which may be to graphic for some, so Ill refrain, but its interesting stuff if you want to hear about another post. But anyway, TCM changed my AF , it increased my cycle length, tone of blood, and within two months I got pregant twice on my own. Once ended early, the other eptopic.Ok, not the best outcome, but who knew I ha tubal problems, and mild endo which they found in Lap.
Everytime I needed my period to come on when it was late, i went in for a session, told them i needed them to get things flowing and either that night or the next day I had flow. This didnt just happen ooce or twice, but like 3 or 4 times!

So I am in big believer in TCM

OH, they aslo reduced my sed rate as well as my high ANA, this was proven by recent blood tests that didnt budge much for years!

Do I POAS?

Post by jenolina »

Hey everyone,

Sorry not to have posted for so long! We moved last week to California and I started a new job, so we havn't been busy or anything...ha ha.
I am still in the 2WW, but my first beta is Friday. I am excited, but not too nervous or anxious. I think I am finally feeling like I can be okay no matter what the outcome is.

Toobee: I am doing PIO ever night in addition to suppositories. I can't stand the suppositories b/c then I feel like I am always leaking. Plus, I don't like laying in bed in the morning waiting 20 minutes when I need to be getting out the door to work. I use an ice pack, place it on my butt about 3 minutes before the shot, then my husband rubs the area a little afterward. They aren't really so bad that way. The only time I had it so bad I could hardly walk was when the meds got cold from being near an icepack. That was a disaster!

Muggs: Thanks for the words of encouragment. Finding out we only had 1 was disappointing but a little like that "one" was "THE ONE", ya know?
I'll be thinking good thougts for your little fighter too!

Val: I've been thinking about you everytime I head about the tropical storm. Aren't you in FLorida? 5 is such an awesome number! Yahoo!
Good luck on your ET this week!

KAS: I love you Valium story. I only wish I had mine in effect while I was having my ET...it was so uncomforable. My clinci made me wait until I came the morning of the transfere and had signed the paperwork saying how many embies to put it. Then I too it, and 5 minutes later they were saying, "Oh, are you feeling relaxed yet?" Uh, NO! But as soon as I got home from the ET I slept 4 hours, so I guess it did finally kick in!

Baby Crazy: When is your beta?

Everyone else good luck! Lots of PMA!
I think sometimes we get bogged down in the process of IVF. How disppointing it can be, the emotional ups and downs, the injections, pokes and sticks, etc. I know I go through phases where I feel a little sorry for myself that I have to go through all this crazy stuff to have a baby. But we are truely fortunate! Not just to be alive at a time and in places in the world where this technology is available, but also to have the financial means. My next door neighbor lost both tubes to ectopics in 5 years and can not afford IVF at all. It is truely heartbreaking. I know she would do anything just to have a CHANCE to even try IVF.

Enough soapbox. JUst me feeling so grateful. Anyone POAS before their beta? If so, how many dpt? Anyone get real BFPs? Just wondering if I might bee a little pink line this week if I am 10dpo and 8dpt.

Post by TrueBeliever »

Good Morning Ladies... How is eveyone today? I hope evryone has that wonderful PMA to get them through the stimming and 2WW... It is such an exciting time, I really enjoy reading everyone stories as it sheds a different light of this process.

As for me I went in yesterday for an ultrasound to see if the OHSS had gotten any better, and of course it was worse  So, I had the fluid drained and came out feeling a little better. I go back Friday to see if any fluid has returned to possibly be drained again... I am really trying to get in as much liquids and protein to not have to go through that pain again.

On a beter note, while getting the ultrasound the RE took a sneak peak at the uterus to see what was going on (5wk 1d) and to our amaze, there were TWO sacks. OMG, how exciting to know I will be carrying two children. It was too early to see a heartbeat or anything. so I am hoping to see more Friday.

So I guess my work hasn't blocked my replies today. Maybe it was just a fluke the other day.

Jenolina - That must have been really stressful moving and starting a new job on your 2ww. Gosh I can't even hand a Java class much less all of that.

Turtles - I am just taking a Java class to get my Bachelor's degree. I defiantly wouldn't be taking this class if I had too. I am currently a contractor for the Department of Defense and maintain and troubleshoot their internet. Basically I deal with the routing of their internet traffic. My work pays for my school so I figured I might as well get my degree for free. Though I really hate school.

TooBee - I am glad your OHSS has subsided and you will be able to transfer. I know some RE's say that it might be better doing a FET because your body is not on all the hormones but just the wait would drive me absolute nuts.
My job isn't stressful but can be a bit boring. An yes it sucks that I sit on my arse all day. I have gained like 40 pounds since starting in this field. I really need to get into working out, I will start for like 2 weeks and then skip a couple of days and then not work out for another couple of months. I am really bad.
Also about what you posted about visulization. I have been doing that a lot since transfer. I am going to try and do everything in my power to make this work. I have also told all my friends and family so they can all give that extra prayer that this will work. I know it will suck if I get that BFN and have to tell them all but PMA and this will work. There is a group of Nuns called the Pink Nuns, my Aunt had them praying for 9 days for me to get PG. She said to watch out because a lot of times that the Pink Nuns pray for fertility that the person has multiples. I told her that was fine by me.

TrueBeliever - TWINS, YEAH!!!! I get to put another smiley face on. Me and DH have talked and Twins are OK with us. Heck at this point I don't care even if it is Triplets. I just want to be PG and not have to go thru all of this again. Hopefully your OHSS subsides so you can relish in your pregnancy.

Much Hope - Good luck on ER.

Hope everyone else has a good day.

Baby_Crazy --- GOOD LUCK ON YOUR BETA TEST.

HEY HEY LADIES :D

Thanks for all the well wishes and I think I am up to speed with everyone's progress (I hope :? ). I have to get to personals a little later because I worked last night and I am very sleepy (Night hrs are 5pm-8am).

MY UPDATE: I triggered last night (sun. night) while at work. Boy, trying to make sure the timing was right. Thank goodness my DH is also on the job! We work the same shift in the same area, so he and I met at the same hospital and did what we needed to do.

Doc"s exact words (when she saw me Sun. morning) were THANK GOD! 10 follies in all!

3-follies at 18, 1-follie at 19, 6-follies between 16-17 1/2 :D she said there are also about 3 or 4 that may make the cut. So Tues. morning will be my ER.......

My bubble did burst when the doc told me my bloated feeling will not go away after ER but will get worse and will not subside for approx. 5 days after ET. I don't know if I was more excited about my ER or the potential relieve of this dreaded bloating feelling.

LADIES TONS AND TONS OF BABY DUST YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST AND I HOPE TO POST A LITTLE LATER TODAY.......

horsegrl - I spoke to soon about the rain. It rained all last night and is really yucky this morning.

toobee - I had my ET on Sat. and just taking it easy. Glad the watermelon feeling is getting a little better.

val - We did not need the rain. It has rained every day for the last month or so. I am from Washington state, but Mobile is the wettest city in the U.S. :? Glad everything is going good for you. Hope your 5 make it to blast stage for you. That is hard about your job. It is a balancing act and hope you work it out.

Amanda
- 15 out 20 sounds good. Hope the PGD is good and things go good on Thur for transfer. I have never had spotting after ER so can't help you there. Good luck!!

jenolina
- Wow, I can't believe you had a move in middle of IVF. Kudos for you for handling it. Good luck on Friday!!

TrueBeliever
- Sorry to hear that your OHSS was worse, but exciting to get a sneak peek at your uterus. Twins!! That is great :)

Chris -
After I finished my bachelor's a few years ago, my DH said I either had to get a job or continue school. So that is why I am getting my masters. Never thought I would get a master's but do have a 4.0 :D Now that I am almost done he said I have another choice, job or Phd. :? No question there. Get a job. I really hate writing and Phd requires too much of that. Of course if I get pregnant then I can take time for the baby  It is funny that my degree is in Computers but I don't feel like I know anything at all about them. Guess that comes on the job. :)

JJJAKE - Glad you got to trigger!! And that your DH was able to meet up with you to work it out. Good luck on ER!

Well, last day of rest for me. Actually a good day for it since it is so nasty outside.

Good Morning ladies:

I hope this post finds everyone in good spirits and moving along.

I triggered last night at midnight. let me tell you although the shot itself did not hurt, it made my arm feel like I was punched over and over again afterwards. My ER is tomorrow morning at 11:30.

I am praying that this journey is successful for all of us. We have gone through so much to get to this point and we all deserve our lil bundles of Joy.

All you wonderful ladies in your 2ww, I know how time must be going so slow, but just think of those wonderful words you will be hearing very soon. BFP's congrats.

So bring on the betas and lets get the next nine months rolling with lots of cravings and big bellies.

Much baby dust to all

Hi Girls...How is everybody?

Much Hope~ Congrats on triggering, that must be a relief for you!! Why did you do the shot in your arm? That must hurt so bad! I did it in the butt and like horsegrl said, you feel like you've done squads but only on one side. I'm sending you lots of positive thoughts and wish you an easy retrieval and one egg in each follie. :D

Horsegrl~ That trigger pain might last a few days...mine was very painful too. I don't remember that the last time. Best of luck on retrieval tomorrow and lots of eggs coming your way. :D

Turtles~ I'm with you about the rain...this is getting to be a lot. It only rained 4 times last night and not just a little bit either, the streets were still flooded at noon! Lake Okeechobee is filling up and I'm grateful for that!
Enjoy your last day of rest and I hope your little embies are all snuggled in.

JJJake~ Great job on those follies and I see lots of great eggs in your future  It's wonderful that DH was close by to give you the shot on time. Hope your bloating goes away in a hurry. Why don't you eat more protein and drink Gatorade like Toobee does, unless you're already doing that. Best of luck on retrieval. :D

True believer~ How neat that you got to see two sacs already...How exciting for you and DH!! I'm sorry that OHSS is not going out the door yet but soon you'll have relief. I'm really happy for you. The second set of twins on the thread. :D :D

Jenolina~ How courageous of you to move during your 2ww. No way would I want to do that! And then starting a new job too! I'm impressed! I hope you get your BFP!! You deserve it! Try and take it easy as much as you can.
For the suppositories, I don't lay down for 20 min, I insert it and go about my business. The first one has been in there since 7 am and still no sign of it coming back out!
I also agree that we are very fortunate to be able to do IVF, afford it and have a chance at having a baby!! You might be a little early to POAS. You had a 2dt if I remember correctly.

Chris~ I love your pink nuns!! Make sure they are praying for all of us and if that means we all get multiples, I don't think any of us will complain. I do a lot of visualization as well. I do it when I'm at AP and every night before going to bed. It's wonderful

I got my fertilization report and out of the 5 eggs, 3 fertilized! I'm really happy with that and I hope they keep on dividing! I missed the call because I still had my cell on silent mode from yesterday. She left me a message. I'll get another report tomorrow.

Yesterday, I had an embarrassing incident after ER. I was really out of it of course but I woke up and it was time to leave...I had been there for 3 hrs already snoozing away. They got me dressed after an hr after ER and moved me to another room where I slept some more. When I left, I just walked out of the office and went to the entrance of the hospital where I sat on a little wall waiting for DH to pick me up. That's when I noticed that my crotch was totally bloody!! :? Needless to say, I walked back to RE's office so he could check what was going on. Luckily, everything was fine. I had a jacket that I tied around my waist to hide the mess. Oh well, might as well laugh about all this. I felt a lot of fluid coming out earlier but I was so out of it that it didn't even down on me that it could be blood.

Babycrazy~ Can't wait to hear about your beta!! Fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

Later girls...

Love,

You guys are going to turn me into a board junkie! I turn away and there are three new pages of posts! I hope you all keep posting! I have a personal gain in it, of course ;) I don't want you to abandon me when you're all PUPO and I'm just getting to ER
Needy, needy ;)

Val - 5 out of 5!! You GO GIRL!! Can't wait for your FERT report today!

Kas - interesting Valium story ;). I'm worried now! I know my RE will give me Valium for ET as it really hurt during the "rehearsal". I'm sure DH will have oodles of fun! ;) Congrats on PUPO

muggsey and tohavefun - congrats on PUPO. Take it easy ladies :) It's time to put the feet up and watch chick flicks on TV 8)

JJJAKE and Much Hope - the best of luck for ER tomorrow! JJJAKE why did you need your DH for triggering? Does everyone have their DH give them the trigger shots? Other shots? I do all my shots myself, including the trigger shots I've done for IUI's. Just wondering why peeps would have DH do them.

Amanda - 15 fertilized! Wow, that's great! Hopefully, they are all good, strong and healthy embies! What is PGD? Is it some sort of genetic analysis? Good luck with ET on Thursday.

horsegrl - 15 follies? You're a powerhouse, girl! :) Have a smooth and painless ER tomorrow. Let them all be eggsellent eggies! :P

toobee - So good to hear that you're feeling better. Good luck with your ET tomorrow - 8 embies is an AWESOME number! My RE wants me to do suppositories instead of shots. And after your story, I am HAPPY to oblige! :) Gotta get there first, though. Grow follies, grow  . What is TCM?

TrueBeliever - TWINS?? How wonderful :) Really hope OHSS will subside soon!

jenolina - that is SO true what you said about getting so wrapped up in our own self-pity and fail to see the big picture. It happens to me all the time, the whole "why me?" I see people that are a far cry from a good parent and I get bitter. And then the whole process of going through treatments and shots and pokes and prods and surgeries and so on and so forth. But! I still am in a position to afford the technology (even if it's not like I have tons of money lying around) that can at least attempt to bring me that baby! Lots of women don't have that chance. Gotta be thankful for what we do have.

MY UPDATE - Today is CD5 (if CD1 is first day of stimms). Went for the first US this morning. Got 6 little follies :) 2 on the left (5 and 6 mm) and 4 on the right. Don't remember the sizes exactly, but it's like 10, 9 and 8 I think. Just got a call from RE. He wants me to increase the dosage. Hmm, and I thought this was good progress as it is? Can someone tell me whether 6 is all I will get this cycle? Or is it still possible to grow more at this stage? Also, what is a "blast stage"?
